Aware

Michael A. Tzannes has been Aware's chief executive officer since April 1998 and has served as a director of Aware since March 1998. Mr. Tzannes also served as Aware's president from April 1998 to March 2001. From September 1997 to April 1998, he served as Aware's chief technology officer and general manager of telecommunications. Mr. Tzannes served as Aware's senior vice president, telecommunications from April 1996 to September 1997, as Aware's vice president, telecommunications from December 1992 to April 1996, as a senior member of Aware's technical staff from January 1991 to November 1992, and as a consultant to Aware from October 1990 to December 1990. From 1986 to 1990, he was a staff engineer at Signatron, Inc., a telecommunications technology and systems developer. Mr. Tzannes received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Tufts University, an M.S. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and a B.S. from the University of Patras, Greece.

Constance Singam holds an MA in Literature. She is a teacher, social activist and writer. She is the president of AWARE, a past president of the Singapore Council of Women's organisations and a founder member of TWC1, TWC2 and MediaWatch. Her research interests over the past twenty years have been Singapore women's history, feminist issues, and the state of civil society activism in Singapore. She has published several essays on these subjects. Her latest book - co-edited with Audrey Chin - "Singapore Women Re-Presented" was launched in Dec. 2004.

Richard W. Gross was appointed to Senior Vice President in July 1999. Mr. Gross also served as Vice President, Strategic Development from July 1998 to July 1999. Prior to the VP position, he held various senior level engineering positions from the time he joined Aware in September 1993 until July 1998. Prior to joining Aware, Mr. Gross was a senior technical staff member at GTE Laboratories from 1987 to 1993; a technical staff member at the Heinrich Hertz Institute from 1984 to 1987; and a programmer for IBM, Federal Systems Division from 1980 to 1984. Mr. Gross received a Ph.D. and M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a B.A. in physics from Holy Cross College.

Terry Davis is a Vice President of AWARE. She is currently the Senior Sales Executive for Direct Drive Marketing, a division of CMI. Terry has 24 years of experience (3 years in the direct marketing business and 21 years in the dealership business). Her current responsibilities at Direct Drive Marketing include servicing existing accounts, opening new accounts, introducing new products, conducting product clinics (training), and maintaining personal positive relations throughout her network with the dealer community. Terry is an automotive industry expert, has published articles for World of Special Finance Magazine and World of Special Finance Canada, and is a strong advocate of training, which she believes is vital to success. Terry is currently working on a new training series, such as one for new salespeople called The ABCs of Car Sales, a timely initiative dedicated to open new doors to attract the growing influence of female customers. Terry's wealth of knowledge of the retail automotive industry stems from her extensive career in the dealership business, starting as a service drive cashier, and rising to numerous positions such as Sales Manager, Special Finance Manager, and F& I Director (her favorite position). Terry was determined to begin her career in the dealership business, because of the poor service she received at a dealership when a salesman's style was rude and aggressive, stating his way was "the only way to sell cars." Since then, Terry has set a precedent and her future on treating customers with the respect and dignity they deserve. Terry has a B.A in Marketing and is also an out-of-box thinker. She is currently located in Sacramento, California.

Adrian F. Kruse has been a director of Aware since October 2003. Mr. Kruse was an audit partner of Ernst & Young LLP, serving clients principally in the financial services industry, from 1976 until his retirement in March 1998. From 1967 to 1976, he served audit clients of Ernst & Young LLP in various capacities. Mr. Kruse is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin and a J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Law. Mr. Kruse also serves as the treasurer and as a director of the Presbyterian Homes and as a director of MEI, Inc.

G. David Forney, Jr. has been a director of Aware since May 1999. Mr. Forney was a vice president of Motorola, Inc. from 1977 until his retirement in January 1999. Mr. Forney was previously vice president of research and development, and a director of Codex Corporation prior to its acquisition by Motorola in 1977. Mr. Forney is currently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Forney received an Sc.D. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S.E. in electrical engineering from Princeton University.

Dr Kanwaljit Soin (Vice Chair) Indian-born, Kanwaljit Soin was raised and educated in Singapore. She trained in hand surgery in Australia. She is a full-time consultant orthopaedic and hand surgeon. She is a founder member of AWARE (Women for Action and Research), becoming its president from 1991 to 1993. She was elected a member of parliament in Singapore from 1992 until 1996. In 1992, Kanwaljit Soin was nominated Woman of the Year. She holds numerous positions in welfare, advocacy and professional organisations.

Mr. McGrath retired as a Director of McKinsey & Company, a private management consulting firm, in December 2004, having served in that firm for twenty-seven years. He led the firm's Americas' Consumer Goods Practice from January 1998 until December 2003. Mr. McGrath has served as a senior advisor with Gleacher Partners LLC, a firm providing strategic advisory services to corporations, in a part-time capacity since January 2005. Mr. McGrath is also a director of Aware, Inc.
