Axis Capital Holdings Ltd.

John R. Charman has been Chief Executive Officer and President and a director since our inception. Mr. Charman also is Chief Executive Officer and President of AXIS Specialty Limited. Mr. Charman has over 38 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been in a senior underwriting position since 1975. From 2000 to 2001, he served as deputy chairman of ACE INA Holdings and President of ACE International. Mr. Charman also was Chief Executive Officer at ACE Global Markets from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Charman was the Chief Executive Officer of Tarquin plc (a joint venture company among Insurance Partners, Harvard University and the Charman Group), the parent company of the Charman Underwriting Agencies at Lloyd's. He also was a deputy chairman of the Council of Lloyd's and a member of the Lloyd's Core Management Group and Lloyd's Market Board between 1995 and 1997. He also is a director of the Bank of Bermuda, a wholly-owned, indirect subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc.

Richard Bullen joined AXIS Specialty Bermuda in April 2002 as a Senior Vice President for the Insurance operations. Richard has a degree in economics and economic history and a Masters in International banking and finance. Richard worked for Charman Underwriting agencies from 1996. until the agency was acquired by ACE Limited. He had specific responsibilities for Political Risk, Terrorism and War business.

Richard Housley has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry having joined AXIS in 2002 from Ace Global Markets. He is also Deputy Chairman of our subsidiary AXIS Specialty Europe Limited. For the first 10 years of his career he worked as a broker in the London Market and was Divisional Director for Fenchurch Insurance Brokers' North America Department. Following Fenchurch, he moved to Brockbank Syndicate Management as Property Underwriter.

F. Marshall Turner, II, CPCU, was named President of AXIS Insurance in January 2007. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of AXIS U.S. Insurance. He is also a director and an Executive Vice President of our subsidiaries, AXIS Specialty U.S. Holdings, Inc. and AXIS Specialty U.S. Services, Inc., Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of our subsidiary, AXIS Specialty Insurance Company, Chairman and Executive Vice President of our subsidiary, AXIS Surplus Insurance Company, and a director and an Executive Vice President of our subsidiary, AXIS Reinsurance Company. He joined the Company in January 2003 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AXIS U.S. Insurance. Prior to that, Mr. Turner was President of the Specialty Property Casualty Group of Aon Corporation's Combined Specialty Group. From 1996 to 2002, he held various senior level positions, including President, with Westchester Specialty Group/ACE USA. He also served as Vice President, Specialty Property Director for Zurich American Insurance Group after holding several property/package underwriting and managerial positions with the Hartford Insurance Group where he began his insurance career in 1980.

As Chief Audit Executive, Mr. Anderson directs the daily activities of the Company’s internal audit function and coordinates management’s implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements. Mr. Anderson joined AXIS Capital from Deloitte where he was the Director of Internal Audit Services to the Insurance Industry and led their Internal Audit Services practice in the Carolinas. Mr. Anderson holds a B.A. in Economics from Eckerd College and an M.S. in Accountancy from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Brian W. Goshen has been the Chief Human Resources Officer since January 2006. Mr. Goshen has over 21 years of professional human resources experience. From March 2004 to January 2006, he served as a Vice President of Human Resources at Fifth Third Bank. From May 1996 to March 2004, he was a Managing Director with Marsh, Inc., a global insurance and brokerage and risk management company. While at Marsh, he served in various senior human resource positions, including the Head of Human Resources for North America and the Head of Human Resources for their Asia and Pacific operations. From February 1994 to June 1996, he was Vice President of Human Resources with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. Mr. Goshen started his corporate career with Goldman, Sachs & Co. following a period of service as a Personnel Officer with the United States Army.

David B. Greenfield joined AXIS Capital in August 2006 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining AXIS, Mr. Greenfield was a partner with KPMG LLP, which he joined in 1984, serving clients in the financial services industry. In addition, Mr. Greenfield was KPMG’s Global Sector Chair for Insurance and a member of KPMG’s Global Financial Services Leadership Team. Mr. Greenfield was the lead partner for several of KPMG’s largest insurance clients. His leadership responsibilities at KPMG included international client development and management over teams of partners and staff globally.

Glenn Gardner has been Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of AXIS since November 2002. Mr. Gardner has 20 years experience in the information technology field. From 1991 to 1994 he was Manager of Corporate Systems for Skandia America Reinsurance Company. He then served as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer for Transatlantic Reinsurance Company from 1994 to 2002.

John J. Murray has been Chief Operations Officer since November 2001. Mr. Murray, a chartered accountant, has 16 years of industry experience. From 1995 to 2000, he was the Head of Operations for ACE Global Markets Limited. He then served as a Finance Director of Newmarket Underwriting Limited during 2000 and 2001.

Richard Strachan has been Chief Claims Officer since April 2002. Mr. Strachan has 22 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. From 1985 to 1997, he managed claims for Syndicates 488 and 2488 at both Charman Underwriting Agencies and Tarquin plc. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Strachan served as a claims adjuster at ACE Global Markets. From 1999 to 2001, he served as claims team leader for ACE Global Markets

Sean McDermott serves as Chief Actuary for AXIS U.S. Insurance in Alpharetta, GA. Prior to joining AXIS, Sean was a Senior Vice President and Actuary for American Reinsurance Company. Sean held several senior management and actuarial positions at American Re from 1990 to 2002, including serving as Chief Pricing Actuary and Chief Reserving Actuary. Sean began his insurance career with Insurance Services Office in 1981, and has previously worked for Continental Insurance Company and Fireman’s Fund. Sean is a 1981 graduate of New York University.

Chris Donelan began his career in the insurance/reinsurance industry in 1990. Prior to joining AXIS, Chris held the position of Vice President, Manager of the Professional Liability Division of Gerling Global Reinsurance Corporation of America. His prior experience also includes ceded reinsurance with American International Group, as well as a Senior Claims Examiner with Tokio Re and Allstate Insurance Company. He also holds a MBA in Insurance and Risk Management from St. John’s University and holds both the CPCU and ARe designations.

Dave Wolfe previously was a Vice President of the Brokered Group of American Re, where he was responsible for underwriting property business. Prior to American Re, Dave was with F&G Re/St Paul Re, where he was a Vice President-Director and had responsibility for US CAT exposed property business. Dave, a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Reinsurance, began his reinsurance career at F&G Re Inc in 1987 as an assistant treaty underwriter. He is a Graduate of Lynchburg College.

Kevin Markowski has over 33 years in the insurance/reinsurance industry, most recently with Benfield as Senior Vice President and Manager of the New York office. Prior to joining Benfield, Kevin was an Executive Vice President with Carvill America from 1995 to 2003. In addition to his brokering experience, Kevin has held Vice President positions with both Swiss Re and Munich American Re in Marketing and Claims from 1980 to 1995. He began his career with the Travelers Insurance Company in 1972 and also worked at the Hartford Insurance Group before joining Swiss Re. Kevin is a graduate of Notre Dame.

Mike Flaherty has over 17 years of experience in excess and surplus lines underwriting and management. Based in Alpharetta,GA, he has overall management responsibility for AXIS E&S Umbrella and Excess, a unit of AXIS Insurance specializing in surplus lines Umbrella and Excess Liability coverage for nonstandard risks. Mike manages underwriters in Alpharetta, Los Angeles and New York City, who work with AXIS - appointed wholesale brokers throughout the country. Previously, Mike, was Vice President, Chief Casualty Officer with Caliber One Management Company. Prior to joining Caliber One in early 2001, he held underwriting management positions with Royal Specialty Underwriting and Westchester Specialty Group. Mike started his insurance career with Wausau Insurance Companies.

Peter Martin previously served as a Vice President/Director for St. Paul Re in their New York office. His primary function was that of lead pricing actuary for North American treaty business. Peter also served in a similar role in the St Paul Re’s London office during the period 1996 to 1999. Peter began his career on the primary side for Fireman’s Fund in 1990, where he functioned in a variety of underwriting areas. He obtained his Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) in 1998 and graduated with a Bs in applied mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989

Stephan Knipper was appointed Executive Vice President of Underwriting for AXIS Re Europe in October 2003. With 16 years of reinsurance experience, he serves as Deputy to Karl Mayr. Prior to joining AXIS, Stephan was with Gerling Global. He served as Chief Underwriter for Casualty, Credit and Marine at Gerling Global Re Group from 1990 to 2000. In 2000, he moved to London to head up Gerling Global General & Re UK. From March 2002 to October 2003, he was a board member of Gerling Global Re Group. Stephan began his career with an international law firm and accountancy firm. He has degrees in Law and Economics.

Timothy Braun leads AXIS Financial Institutions, a unit of AXIS Professional Lines. He directs underwriting strategy and has management responsibility for a team of financial institutions underwriters based in New York City. Tim has been in this role since the fall of 2004 when AXIS Insurance created a dedicated unit to serve this specialized segment of the market. Reporting to Jack Kuhn, Division President & Global Leader for Professional Lines, Tim has over 17 years of financial institutions experience. Formerly, he was Vice President and National Practice Leader of Financial Institutions for AXIS Financial Insurance Solutions when that unit handled both commercial and financial institutions accounts. He served in a similar capacity at Kemper from October 2000 to February 2003 before the Financial Insurance Solutions unit became part of AXIS U.S. Insurance. Prior to joining Kemper, he had been an insurance broker and held positions at Aon and Frank Crystal & Co. in New York City. He also previously worked five years in Chubb’s Department of Financial Institutions.

Tim Chesson heads up the Custom Accounts unit of AXIS Insurance. AXIS Custom Accounts, which specializes in niche insurance programs with Managing General Agencies (MGAs), is headquartered in Alpharetta, GA. As head of AXIS Custom Accounts, Tim’s main responsibility is to develop MGA business opportunities throughout the United States. Tim had been with Aon's Combined Specialty Group,(no comma) prior to that operation becoming part of AXIS Insurance in November 2002. At Combined Specialty Group, he was responsible for the company's Program Division. Tim’s career spans 23 years and includes senior management responsibilities at RLI, TIG and Zurich. He began his career in 1980 with the Hartford Insurance Group.

Brian Roller is an experienced E&S underwriting manager. He heads up the E&S Property team in AXIS Insurance’s Los Angeles office. As a Senior Vice President of E&S Property, he reports to Gerald Dupre. Brian is responsible for the continued expansion of E&S Property’s West Coast and Hawaii business. He came to AXIS from ACE USA, where he had most recently served as Vice President and Manager for the Southern California region. Prior to joining ACE USA, Brian held positions at Classic Insurance Services, Fireman’s Fund and Allendale Mutual Insurance Company.

Dale Gawley joined AXIS in August of 2002 and now serves as US Operations Manager. Mr. Gawley, a chartered accountant, has been working in the industry in financial and operational roles for the last six years. From 1997 – 1998 he served as Financial Controller for Henniges Elastomers Ireland GmbH. He then served as Business Controller & Assistant Plant Manager for Sennheiser Ireland GmbH. In May of 2000 he joined Mutual Risk Management in Bermuda as a Project Manager until joining our finance group in mid 2002.

Doug Krumrey underwrites E&S Property business out of the AXIS Insurance office in Alpharetta, GA, where he reports to Gerald Dupre. Prior to joining AXIS in 2003, Doug was Chief Underwriting Officer of Property for the Westchester Specialty Division of ACE USA. Having begun his career in 1980 as an Inland Marine Trainee with Kemper Insurance Group, Doug moved on to hold senior underwriting positions with Fireman's Fund. In 1989, he joined Crum & Forster as a Regional Inland Marine Manager. Following that, Doug served as Regional Vice President/Branch Manager of the Chicago Region for GRE Insurance Group. He then moved to Zurich Insurance Group, where he was an Assistant Vice President responsible for Inland Marine countrywide. In 1996, Doug joined Westchester Specialty Group as Assistant Vice President to head the Inland Marine operation. He advanced through Westchester Specialty's Property Division to become Senior Vice President in charge of the Eastern U.S. Property Operation before being named CUO.

Halina Herc has over 20 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. Prior to joining AXIS, Halina held the position of Vice President in the Standard Casualty department of Converium. She also held the position of Treaty Vice President at Partner Re and various underwriting positions at Everest Re. She graduated from Seton Hall University with a BA in Accounting and holds both the CPCU and ARe designations.

Jim Ruden began his insurance/reinsurance career in 1980 as a multi-line underwriter with the Empire Mutual/Allcity Insurance Group in New York City. Prior to joining AXIS Re – U.S., Jim was Vice President and Global Underwriting Manager of the Direct and Facultative Insurance/Reinsurance Division for Everest Re in Bermuda. Before moving to Bermuda, he led the U.S. Facultative Property Division for Everest Re as Vice President and National Underwriting Manager. He also previously was Assistant Secretary and Facultative Property Underwriter with Munich American Reinsurance Company in New York, and Senior Property Underwriter with Royal Globe Insurance.

Jeff Ryan specializes in contract and commercial surety reinsurance business. Prior to joining AXIS Re, he served as Senior Vice President, Surety & Credit with ACE Tempest Re USA and was responsible for surety underwriting on a global basis. Jeff’s prior work experience also includes Transatlantic Reinsurance Company, where he was part of the Guaranty division and had primary responsibility for Trade Credit, Political Risk and Financial Guarantee underwriting in addition to managing a portfolio of surety clients. He began his career at Seaboard Surety Company in 1991. Jeff graduated from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond with a BSBA in economics.

Marc Nance manages the E&S Property team in AXIS Insurance's Chicago office. As Senior Vice President, he reports to Gerald Dupre. Marc has over 25 years of insurance industry experience, including 10 years at AIG and 12 years with Hartford Insurance Group. At AIG's Commerce & Industry and Lexington Insurance Company subsidiaries, Marc was responsible for handling Highly Protected Risk, Excess and Surplus Lines, Catastrophic Loss Exposures and Layered Property business. These property portfolios included Risk Management, Commercial Accounts and Middle-Market clients. Marc started his underwriting career writing package business with the Hartford Insurance Group. During his tenure at Hartford, Marc was responsible for the profit, growth and development of a diversified book of middle-market property and package business. He also previously held underwriting positions at Chubb.

Michael Fokken has over 25 years of experience in areas of underwriting, risk assessment, risk management and consulting. Prior to joining AXIS, Michael was Assistant Vice President, Special Casualty at Transatlantic Reinsurance, underwriting treaty and facultative business. His prior experience also includes Referral Underwriter at Swiss Re America for Contractor/Consultant Professional Liability, Environmental Liability and Architects & Engineers Liability. Prior to reinsurance, Michael worked in the risk management area in commercial banking and engineering & environmental consulting sectors. Michael has his B.A. from the University of Iowa with Masters work at Iowa and Farleigh Dickenson University.

Nick Leccese has 25 years experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry as an actuary. Prior to joining AXIS, Nick was a Vice President in the Actuarial Department of Gerling Global Reinsurance Corporation of America. His prior experience included pricing primary insurance at Reliance National and Insurance Services Office. Nick became a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society in 1993 and has a BA in Mathematics from Queens College.

Before joining AXIS Re Europe in January 2004, Stefan Habereder served for two years as the head of the corporate actuarial department at Allianz Global Risks in Munich. From 1999 to 2001 he was General Manager Underwriting at Allianz Re, Dublin. He began his career with Allianz in 1996 in the treaty reinsurance department and became a fully qualified member of the German actuarial society in 1998. He holds a MSc in game theory and applied mathematics.

Andreas Brauchli joined AXIS as Financial Accountant for the Zurich Branch. From 1998 to 2004, among other positions, Andreas has worked as Senior Accountant for Group Reporting within the Finance Division of Swiss Re. Prior to 1998, he had worked for Union Re as Technical Accountant.

Colin Pearson has been associated with AXIS since January 2002 when he worked as an independent consultant. He joined AXIS full-time in June 2003 and is Vice President in the Information Technology department. Mr. Pearson has over 20 years of Insurance related business and information technology experience. Before AXIS, he worked for Arthur Andersen Management Consultants, Lloyd’s of London and ROOM Solutions.

Colin Rann is the Claims Catastrophe Coordinator for AXIS. He also handles claims arising from our Aviation, Energy and Marine business lines. Between August 2003 and August 2006, he worked in AXIS' Dublin office as Dublin Claims Manager. Colin has over 17 years of claims experience, having previously worked at Ace Global Markets and Charman Underwriting Agencies prior to joining AXIS in 2002.

Dave has over 30 years experience in the reinsurance industry after four and a half years of primary underwriting at General Accident and Kemper. He began as a Casualty Facultative Underwriter at Employers Reinsurance, moving in 1975 to Munich American Reinsurance where he was Facultative Casualty Manager and New York Regional Manager. In 1990, he moved into the Casualty Treaty Department and shortly after the announced merger with American Reinsurance in mid-1996, he became Acting Casualty Treaty Manager until the effective merger in early 1997. He served as Vice President Treaty Underwriter following the merger until leaving American Re in August 2002. He subsequently did underwriting review work and other reinsurance consulting activities until January 2006, when he joined AXIS Re’s General Casualty unit.

Howard Sulzman manages the New York office as Vice President, AXIS Re U.S. Claims. He has extensive experience handling complex claim issues in most lines of business involving both Reinsurance and Insurance. In addition, Howard has significant experience in claims administration, operation management, best-practice protocols, due diligence and claim operational reviews. Before joining AXIS, Howard held a variety of senior management positions with Swiss Re over a period spanning 20 years and was the founding principal of World-Class Claims Management which provided claims strategies and solutions to insurance and reinsurance clients.

Joanne Lloyd-Bragg manages claims for a variety of specialty products, including Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability and other financial lines. Prior to joining AXIS in 2003, she was a Claims Examiner for Chubb Insurance where she handled a diverse range of specialty claims. From 1997 through 2001, Joanne handled specialty claims for AIG. She is a member of the New Jersey and the New York State Bars.

Jon began his career in the insurance industry in 1999 as a treaty underwriter with AXA Re in New York. Prior to joining AXIS, Jon served as an Assistant Secretary, Casualty Treaty Underwriter, at Odyssey America Reinsurance Corporation. Jon is a graduate of The University of Vermont, where he received a BS in Business Administration. He holds both the CPCU and ARe designations.

Kenneth Mullins is responsible for the management of all U.S. property claims. Prior to joining AXIS Re U.S., he held the position of Vice President of Property Claims at Combined Specialty Group and has been a multiline Loss Adjuster for 23 years with GAB Robins, reaching the level of Branch operations manager. He is also a member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society.

Ljuba has over 20 years experience in the reinsurance industry. Prior to joining AXIS Re, she worked for Swiss Re in Zurich, Switzerland, and Swiss Re UK in their London Underwriting Center as a Senior Underwriter, Member of Management - Global & International Department. Prior to moving to Europe in 2000, she worked as a referral underwriter at Swiss Re Armonk. Her previous experience also includes positions of Manager of Property Facultative department at Great Lakes Re of Munich Re Group in New York, and with Allianz Re New York prior to that. She holds a MBA in Insurance and Risk Management from St. John’s University, and both the CPCU and ARe professional designations.

Michael Orlich began his career in the insurance/reinsurance industry as a Program Underwriter in 1997. Prior to joining AXIS, Michael was an Assistant Secretary in the General Casualty Underwriting Department of Gerling Global Reinsurance Corporation of America. He graduated from Iona College with a BA in Business Management.

Ron Polonsky underwrites financial institutions business throughout the Eastern Region of the United States. Prior to joining the Financial Institutions unit of AXIS Insurance in 2005, Ron held underwriting and underwriting management positions at other national carriers writing both financial institutions and commercial business. He was also previously a broker with Aon Financial Services Group in New York City.

As Vice President of Property Claims, Stephen Lajewski handles newly reported excess and primary property losses and assists in the running of the property claims department. Prior to joining AXIS, he was Assistant Vice President with the Fireman’s Fund / Interstate Group of insurance companies and a property adjuster at Chubb.

Steven Kane underwrites financial institutions business throughout the Eastern Region of the United States. He also serves as the AXIS Financial Institutions product manager for asset management classes of business and has developed specialized D&O and E&O policies for investment advisers, mutual funds and the alternative investment management marketplace. He has been with AXIS since February 2003, and he served in a similar capacity when the Financial Insurance Solutions unit was part of Kemper. At Kemper, Steven underwrote both financial institutions and commercial accounts business in the New York Region. Prior to joining Kemper in 2001, he had been an underwriter in Zurich’s Diversified Financial Institutions Group.

Vincent Clappsy joined AXIS as Vice President, Applications Manager in July 2004. Mr. Clappsy has over 17 years experience in business applications development and support. Most recently he was Assistant Vice President, Applications Manager for Transatlantic Reinsurance Company from 1995 to 2004.

Tim Hennessy joined AXIS as Finance Director - Europe upon the establishment of the Irish subsidiaries in May 2002. Tim is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Taxation and the Institute of Risk Management. Tim has over 14 years of insurance industry experience and held various management positions with Marsh rising to Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Executive of Marsh Management Services, Dublin. Prior to 1990 Tim worked with Ernst & Young.

Bhuma Patel underwrites financial institutions business throughout the Eastern Region of the United States. She joined AXIS Financial Institutions in 2007 from ACE, where she had been a senior underwriter. Bhuma also previously worked at CNA. She graduated with an MBA from New York University in 2007.

David Hayward is responsible for managing all European claims activities. David previously held the senior positions of Claims Manager for Newmarket Underwriting, Group Claims Director for Hiscox and Marine Claims Manager for ACE London. David also spent 15 years at Lloyd's Claims Office in a number of roles including Deputy Manager of the Claims Liability Group and Deputy Manager of the Claims Energy and Onshore Property Group. He is also an accredited Mediator for C.E.D.R.

Donna Keefer is responsible for the administration of all AXIS U.S. claims. Prior to joining AXIS, she was Claims Operations Manager for ACE USA and held various management positions with Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company and Hanover Insurance Company.

Ian Holland joined AXIS-London in April 2002 as Operations Officer-AXIS Europe. Ian began his career in the insurance industry as a Lloyd's Broker in 1977, working both on claims and placing. In 1988 he joined Lloyd's Non Marine Syndicate 469 (managed by Charman Underwriting Agencies Limited) as an assistant underwriter. Subsequently in 1999 he joined ACE Global Markets Limited where he managed the operations team.

John Intondi is responsible for the management of all U.S. claims activities. Prior to joining AXIS, he was Senior Vice President of Claims at Combined Specialty Group’s P&C division, Royal Specialty and ACE USA, where he also served as a member of the Board of Directors. John has held a variety of senior positions at Crum and Forster, Western World Insurance Company and Consolidated Mutual Insurance Company. He is also the AXIS representative to the Excess and Surplus Lines Claims Association and is an active member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC).

Alain Favre graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich with a Master's degree in material science. He worked for eight years in the medical devices industry with responsibilities in product development and marketing. Before joining Axis in 2006, he started his reinsurance career in 2004 at Converium as Engineering underwriter for the French and Spanish speaking countries.

Ana Cifuentes worked for Swiss Re in Madrid before joining AXIS. She was Head of Property and Casualty Treaty Underwriting at Swiss Re, and she also previously had been a Casualty Treaty Underwriter there. In 1996, she began her career at Gerling Global Re, as Non Life Treaty Underwriter for the Spanish and Portuguese markets. She studied Economics and Actuarial Science.

Andrew Bisset has over 16 years of reinsurance and insurance experience. Before joining AXIS, Andrew had worked for the reinsurance division of The Hartford for more than 12 years in Hartford, Paris, London and Boston. His roles in both London and Paris were focused on the European broker market, especially in property catastrophe. He began his career in Boston underwriting direct insurance for Liberty Mutual's National Accounts Department and for the electronics underwriting division of St. Paul Fire and Marine.

Carlton Maner oversees AXIS U.S. Insurance’s three wholesale insurance operations – E&S Property, E&S Casualty and E&S Umbrella and Excess. With over 25 years of insurance experience, he also serves as head of the E&S Property unit, managing underwriters in Alpharetta, GA, Chicago and Los Angeles. He has been with AXIS U.S. Insurance since January 2003. Previously, he had been with Aon’s Combined Specialty Group. Prior to that, Carlton was Senior Vice President of Property for the Westchester Specialty Division of ACE USA. At ACE USA, he was responsible for Westchester’s entire property portfolio within the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. He was also responsible for Catastrophe Management for ACE USA. Carlton previously held other property positions with the company, having joined ACE USA (The London Agency at the time) in 1990 as a Senior Property Underwriter. His prior experience also includes working at Zurich American Insurance Company, Home Insurance Group, St. Paul Fire & Marine and the insurance brokerage firm of Haas & Dodd.

Cathriona Donlon has over 15 years reinsurance and insurance experience. Prior to joining AXIS, she was a Senior Casualty Underwriter and a member of the Underwriting Technical Services Team at Converium. She previously worked in London for 10 years, having started her career in the RSA Graduate Trainee Programme in 1989. She held various underwriting positions at RSA in the London Market and Multinational Risks divisions, and then spent two years at Hannover Re before moving to Zurich in 1999. Cathriona is ACII qualified, and she holds a BA in Economics from University College Dublin.

Christoph Nienhaus has 13 years of experience in Credit & Bond insurance and reinsurance. Before joining AXIS, Christoph served as Senior Underwriter and Member of the Management in the Credit & Surety Department of Partner Re in Paris. Prior to joining Partner Re Christoph was Underwriter at GeneralCologne Re in Cologne and at Gerling Konzern Speziale Kreditversicherung (now Atradius).

Cliff Easton has over 32 years of insurance industry experience, commencing his career at the H.J. Brasier Marine Syndicate at Lloyd’s, and then preceding to M.R. Baxter Syndicates as an Assistant Underwriter. He later was an Inaugural Partner, Marine and Energy Division Head, for Hiscox Syndicates. He was also elected to serve on the London Market Rig and Associated Business Committee, and he has assisted the London insurance community by participating in various Working Parties.

Daniel Wright started in Lloyds 15 years ago with Managing Agent John Poland and Others. Moving to Archer's in 1992 to work with the Non-marine underwriter of syndicate 947. In 1996 he moved to XL Brockbank to specialise in short-tail MGA business. Over the next 4 years he progressed on to manage the MGA business. He was employed by ACE Global Markets in 2001 as class underwriter and manager of binding authorities. He has been with AXIS since April 2002 where he has responsibility for sourcing MGA Accounts and for management of the Property LRO team in London.

Danny Walsh has over 10 years experience in the London Insurance market. Danny joined the Generali in May 1992 where he served as Deputy Bloodstock Underwriter and also worked within Aviation. He moved to Ace Global Markets as Deputy Bloodstock Underwriter before joining AXIS in Dublin in May 2002.

As Senior Vice President and Casualty Claims Manager, David Hart is responsible for handling liability claims. He previously held the same position at Combined Specialty Group and held the position of Assistant Vice President at Royal Specialty Underwriting Inc. He is also a Licensed Attorney authorised to practise law in the Florida Bar.

Doug Krumrey underwrites E&S Property business out of the AXIS Insurance office in Alpharetta, GA, where he reports to Gerald Dupre. Prior to joining AXIS in 2003, Doug was Chief Underwriting Officer of Property for the Westchester Specialty Division of ACE USA. Having begun his career in 1980 as an Inland Marine Trainee with Kemper Insurance Group, Doug moved on to hold senior underwriting positions with Fireman's Fund. In 1989, he joined Crum & Forster as a Regional Inland Marine Manager. Following that, Doug served as Regional Vice President/Branch Manager of the Chicago Region for GRE Insurance Group. He then moved to Zurich Insurance Group, where he was an Assistant Vice President responsible for Inland Marine countrywide. In 1996, Doug joined Westchester Specialty Group as Assistant Vice President to head the Inland Marine operation. He advanced through Westchester Specialty's Property Division to become Senior Vice President in charge of the Eastern U.S. Property Operation before being named CUO.

Having joined AXIS at inception in 2001, Fiona Donaldson manages our Recreational Marine business. Fiona commenced her insurance career with the Charman Underwriting Agency at Lloyd’s where she held various underwriting roles until ACE Limited acquired Charman Underwriting in 1998. Prior to joining AXIS, Fiona was the Deputy Recreational Marine Underwriter for ACE Global Markets Syndicate 2488 at Lloyd’s.

Dr. Gerd Bausert joined Axis in February 2006. He started his reinsurance career with Munich Re, Munich in 1986. After 4 years he moved on to the Zurich Insurance Company as Senior Underwriter Engineering and Construction in the Assumed Reinsurance Department. After restructuring of the reinsurance activities of the Zurich he became the Underwriting Manager Engineering of the Zurich Re for the treaty and facultative account. With the spin-off and the establishment of Converium he managed the Engineering team in Zurich and the underwriters in the branch offices. Gerd has a Master of Science Degree and a PhD in Engineering and began his career in the construction industry.

Gregg Springer heads up AXIS Specialty Products, a division of AXIS Insurance. In this role, he oversees AXIS U.S. Insurance’s U.S. Property, Custom Accounts and Employer Medical Stop-Loss units. Before being named Division President, a newly created position, in January 2005, he was Executive Vice President of Underwriting Operations. He has had responsibility for underwriting guidelines, auditing, ceded reinsurance and new ventures since joining AXIS U.S. Insurance in January 2003. Previously, he served in a similar capacity at Aon’s Combined Specialty Group. From 2000 to 2002, Gregg was an Executive Vice President – Casualty Executive with ACE USA. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director of Aon Risk Services. He has over 27 years of insurance underwriting and brokerage experience, and he also formerly held positions at Aon Bermuda, Industrial Indemnity and American International Group.

Jan Ekberg has 21 years of underwriting experience in reinsurance. Before joining AXIS Re, Zurich Jan was Underwriting Team Leader for Property Pro-Rata and Per Risk business for the European Branch Offices at GE Frankona based in Copenhagen. Earlier Jan had served in various positions in GE Frankona, latest as Area Manager and Underwriter for The Netherlands from 1999 to 2002 and from 1996 to 1999 he lead the Facultative Property Centre of Excellence based in Munich. Jan began his career at a direct insurance company.

John Andrews joined AXIS in December 2002. His previous experience was gained at Catlin Underwriting Agencies Ltd. Prior to that he was at XL London Markets, specialising in US and International MGA facilities and small facultative Property risks. He also spent 9 years as a Property, MGA and Transportation Broker for JLT Risk Solutions, Miller Insurance and Lloyd Thompson Limited.

Jonathan Marshall has worked in the insurance industry for 12 years gaining experience in both the Lloyd's and company markets. Having first started work at Brockbank Syndicate in 1994, where he was introduced to the property account, he continues to work on this class of business today. After moving to Ace in 2000, he started work at AXIS just after formation of the company in 2001.

Len Zeppo is Vice President of AXIS Custom Accounts. Located in AXIS Insurance's Chicago office, Len is responsible for the management and profitability of the company's MGA business. Len previously served in a similar capacity at Combined Specialty Group, RLI and TIG. Prior to that, Len worked 14 years at Zurich American and 9 years at Allstate Insurance.

Luan Nott joined AXIS in April 2002. After graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 1997 with a 1st class Bsc (Hons) in Operational Research with Applied Statistics. Luan previously worked for Brockbank Syndicate Mangagement as an Underwriters Assistant on the Energy side. She left Brockbank in September 1999 to join the Spinney Syndicate. In March 2000 she joined Ace Global Markets to work as an Underwriters Assistant on the Offshore Energy account.

Marc Maupoux is a qualified French Actuary . Before joining AXIS, Marc was a Senior Underwriter for France and Belgium for Rhein Rueck/Alea, Basel. In 1994, he started his reinsurance career with Hannover Rueck, Hannover as an Underwriter Life/Non-life for France.

F. Marshall Turner, II, CPCU, was named President of AXIS Insurance in January 2007. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of AXIS U.S. Insurance. He is also a director and an Executive Vice President of our subsidiaries, AXIS Specialty U.S. Holdings, Inc. and AXIS Specialty U.S. Services, Inc., Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of our subsidiary, AXIS Specialty Insurance Company, Chairman and Executive Vice President of our subsidiary, AXIS Surplus Insurance Company, and a director and an Executive Vice President of our subsidiary, AXIS Reinsurance Company. He joined the Company in January 2003 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AXIS U.S. Insurance. Prior to that, Mr. Turner was President of the Specialty Property Casualty Group of Aon Corporation's Combined Specialty Group. From 1996 to 2002, he held various senior level positions, including President, with Westchester Specialty Group/ACE USA. He also served as Vice President, Specialty Property Director for Zurich American Insurance Group after holding several property/package underwriting and managerial positions with the Hartford Insurance Group where he began his insurance career in 1980.

Michael Käppner has nearly 15 years experience in reinsurance. Starting as a facultative Casualty underwriter within the Paris office of Munich Re in 1989 he joined AXIS from Converium, where he worked for the last 6 years mainly in P/C treaty underwriting, at the end in the position of the Client relationship manager for Benelux and Israel.

Nick Flynn joined AXIS in December 2003 from Marsh Global Broking where he worked as an Account Manager in the International Property Division. Prior to Marsh, he was an Underwriting Assistant at Cox Syndicate. He joined Cox in 1998 after obtaining a degree in Modern Languages (French & Italian) from Oxford University.

Peter has 17 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Axis in May of 2006, Peter worked at PXRE Reinsurance Company for 14 years in a variety of roles, most recently serving as Senior Vice President ? Head of North American Property. He started his career in 1989 at St. Paul Re and is a graduate of Iona College.

Richard Fricker joined AXIS in April 2002. Graduating with a 2:1 BA(hons) degree in modern history in 1984. Richard joined Sedgwick Offshore Resources in 1985 to work on North Sea operating and offshore construction retail business. In 1989 Richard joined Hayter Brockbank Ltd as Assistant Energy Underwriter, for Syndicate 861/588 and in 1993 became Deputy Energy Underwriter, with primary responsibility for the offshore account. Leaving Brockbank Syndicate Management Ltd in 1999, he joined the Spinney Syndicate 1308, moving on to become the Offshore Energy Class Underwriter at Ace Global Markets a year later.

Rory MacGregor joined AXIS-Dublin in January 2002. He has cross class responsibilities, with a particular emphasis on terrorism. Prior to joining AXIS, Rory underwrote a global book of commercial property and onshore energy risks in Lloyd's. He joined M F Newton Syndicate (later Cox) in 1996 after graduating from the London School of Economics

Rupert Cousins joined AXIS in December 2001. For the past 12 years Rupert had worked as a North American Property Underwriter on Lloyds Syndicate 506.

Tania Chen underwrites financial institutions business throughout the Eastern Region of the United States. She formally worked in the Financial Institutions Group at AIG, where she specialized in underwriting large Investment Advisor and Agent E&O programs. Prior to that she was in the Group Insurance Department at CIGNA Corporation where she served as a Regional Travel Accident Specialist and Service Representative. Tania is currently working towards her MBA in Finance and Management at Fordham University.

Terry Wood joined AXIS Specialty Bermuda in April 2002 as Vice President of Insurance. Terry began his career in 1986 working for Charman Underwriting Agencies where he underwrote Cargo, Specie, Aviation and Satellite lines of business. When Charman Underwriting was acquired by ACE he concentrated in the Satellite field becoming the Senior London Underwriter for this class.

Tim Covello was hired by AXIS U.S. Insurance in December 2003 to build a diversified E&O practice. Prior to forming AXIS PRO, he had been with Chubb Specialty Insurance (formerly Executive Risk). Tim joined Executive Risk in 1995 to establish the firm's Lawyer's Professional Liability Insurance operation, which grew to become a leading LPL underwriting facility in the United States. He later was named head of Chubb Specialty’s Professional Services Group. Before entering the insurance industry, he practiced law for seven years at the Hartford firm of Shipman & Goodwin where he was a member of the Real Estate and Corporate departments. Tim earned a J.D. with high honors from Duke University School of Law and bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Harvard College.

Led by Tom Steidinger in Chicago, AXIS U.S. Property is a unit of AXIS Insurance that specializes in the underwriting of midsize to large Commercial Property accounts. He directs property underwriting strategy and has overall management responsibility for the unit's network of regional offices, which work with retail brokers across the United States. Tom was part of the team from Aon's Combined Specialty Group that established AXIS' U.S. insurance operations in November of 2002. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Property Underwriting, serving as the Senior Property Officer for all CNA property underwriting on a global basis. Tom joined CNA in 2000 as Senior Vice President, Risk Management Property, following a 20-year career at Wausau Insurance, where he held a variety of property underwriting and managerial positions.

Wolfgang Amiras has 14 years reinsurance experience in property underwriting. Prior to joining AXIS, he was an Underwriting Manager with GE Frankona Reinsurance in Munich, responsible for property underwriting in Austria, Switzerland and Central Eastern Europe. He has a degree in business administration from University Passau.

Andrew Cook has been Chief Financial Officer of the Company since September 2006. He is also Deputy Chairman, President and Chief Financial Officer of our subsidiary, Harbor Point Re Limited, a director of our subsidiary, Harbor Point Investments Europe Limited, and a director and President of our subsidiary, Harbor Point Agency Limited. From November 2001 to April 2006, he was the Chief Financial Officer of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, a Bermuda insurance and reinsurance company. From January 2001 until November 2001, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mutual Risk Management Limited. From 1999 to 2000, he worked as an independent consultant assisting clients in raising private equity capital. From 1993 to 1999, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of LaSalle Re Holdings Limited.

Charles A. Davis has served as a director since our inception. Since June 2005, Mr. Davis has been a member and the Chief Executive Officer of Stone Point Capital LLC. From 1998 until May 2005, he was with MMC Capital, Inc., a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., serving as the Chief Executive Officer from 1999 to 2005 and Chairman from 2002 to 2005. He also served as a Vice Chairman of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. from 1999 to November 2004. Prior to joining MMC Capital in 1998, Mr. Davis spent 23 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where, among other positions, he served as head of Investment Banking Services worldwide, head of the Financial Services Industry Group, a General Partner, a Senior Director and a Limited Partner. Mr. Davis also is a director of Media General, Inc., The Hershey Company and The Progressive Corporation.

Cheryl-Ann Lister was elected as a director in September 2008. Ms. Lister began her career in 1980 at the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited as the manager of the investment department at Bermuda Commercial Bank in 1987. In 1992, she joined EBT Securities Limited, a privately held international investment trading company, and ultimately served as a director with responsibilities for the company's operations in Bermuda and Brazil. From 1999 through 2006, Ms. Lister served in both the chairperson and CEO roles at the Bermuda Monetary Authority, which is responsible for regulating and supervising financial institutions in Bermuda. Ms. Lister was a founding member and President of the Bermuda Society of Financial Analysts and served as a Governor for the Association of Investment Management and Research (now the CFA Institute). She also served as President of the International Society of Financial Analysts. Ms. Lister currently serves as a consultant to the Bermuda Ministry of Justice on matters relating to anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism financing and is also the Chairperson of the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee.

Christopher V. Greetham has served as a director since October 2006. He retired from his position as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of XL Capital Ltd. in September 2006. From 1982 to 1996, Mr. Greetham was Chief Financial Officer of OIL Insurance Ltd. and President of OIL Investment Corporation Ltd. Between 1975 and 1982, he served as an investment analyst and a portfolio manager at Bankers Trust Company. He also is a director of The First American Corporation.

Mr. Kelly has served as President of Citigroup Alternative Investments since January 2008. He joined the firm from The Carlyle Group, where he served as Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group since June 2007. He previously was a Vice Chairman of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. from March 2007 to June 2007. Mr. Kelly held the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercantile Bankshares Corporation ("Mercantile") from March 2001 to March 2007 and the position of Chairman of Mercantile from March 2003 to March 2007. Mr. Kelly is a member of the Boards of Directors of CSX Corporation and The Hershey Company.

Frank J. Tasco has served as a director since our inception. Mr. Tasco retired in 1992 as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., a position he held since 1986. From December 1992 to December 1994, Mr. Tasco served as Chairman of Borden, Inc.

Geoffrey Bell has served as a director since September 2006. He currently is President of Geoffrey Bell and Company formed in 1982 as a consultant to major corporations and banks internationally providing advice on capital market transactions as well as undertaking economic, financial and country risk analysis. He also is the Founder and a member of the Board of Directors of the Consultative Group of International Economic and Monetary Affairs known as the Group of 30.

Jürgen Grupe has served on our Board of Directors since May 2004. He also is a director of AXIS Specialty Holdings Ireland Limited, AXIS Re Limited and AXIS Specialty Europe Limited. From 1998 until 2002, Mr. Grupe was a director of Aon Reinsurance Worldwide and Chairman of the Board of Aon Reinsurance Europe. Prior to Aon's acquisition of Jauch & Hubener Gmbh in 1997, he was a partner at Jauch & Hubener and Chairman of its reinsurance brokerage company.

Maurice Keane, B.Comm., M.Econ.Sc. (aged 65), non-executive Director, is a member of the Court of Directors of Bank of Ireland, having been Chief Executive up until February 2002. He is a director of Axis Capital Holdings Limited and is Chairman of Bristol & West plc and of BUPA Ireland. Mr Keane joined the Board in 2002.
