David Dahn is a managing director with SVB Analytics, responsible for managing client engagements and issuing related opinions. He has more than 17 years of experience working with early to mature stage venture-backed companies in energy, high technology, medical devices and therapeutics, with an industry focus on the life sciences. Dahn has significant experience in international tax and treasury matters, strategic finance, mergers and acquisitions and stock valuations. Prior to joining SVB Analytics, Dahn founded Corporate Finance Outsourcing (CFO), a financial services firm focused on early-stage company strategic and tactical financial support including interim financial management, tax and treasury consulting and valuation work, primarily in the technology and life science industries. Prior to founding CFO, Dahn was the treasurer and tax director for Lionbridge Technologies, a publicly held multinational IT services company. He supported Lionbridge through several acquisitions, secondary offerings and senior debt placements. Prior to Lionbridge, Dahn helped architect the international expansion of Akamai Technologies in the tax and treasury areas. He is also an alumnus of Ernst & Young LLP where he was a New England area leader for several accounting method initiatives as well as overseeing audit and tax clientele. Dahn earned his bachelor of science in business administration for accountancy from the University of Lowell and a master of science in taxation from Bentley College. Dahn is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tax Executives Institute.

John Thievon has served as President & Chief Executive Officer and a Director on our board since September 2008. Prior to joining MiddleBrook, he was with Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, Inc. for 9 years. He held various positions there. From May 2005 through February 2008, John was an Executive Vice President with Adams. He oversaw sales operations and the field sales team, corporate accounts, business development and commercial operations, among other things. John was Vice President of Sales and Professional Marketing from May 2000 to May 2005 where he wrote the marketing plan for the launch of Mucinex . Before that John also worked in the positions of Northeast Regional Business Director and Director of Marketing with Adams. John worked for IMS Health Inc., from January 1995 to December 1998. At IMS he worked in several positions including Account Manager, Account Director, and Director of Sales Training. He was a Sales Representative with Ortho Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 1990 to 1994. Since November 2007, John has been a member of DaySpring Pharma, LLC's Board of Directors. DaySpring is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on acquiring, developing and commercializing prescription and non-prescription products for specialty markets in women's health and pediatrics. Donald J. Treacy, Ph.D. has served as our vice president, analytical sciences since January 2004. Dr. Treacy joined us as director, analytical research and development in March 2000. Dr. Treacy has 13 years of industry experience including 12 years in drug development and novel drug delivery systems. From 1993 to 2000, Dr. Treacy was employed at Shire Laboratories, Inc./Pharmavene. While at Shire Laboratories, he held management positions with increasing responsibilities in analytical method development, validation, clinical trial material release and NDA stability. Prior to that, Dr. Treacy performed analytical method development and photodegradation research at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Treacy has a bachelor's degree from Roanoke College and received a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Maryland.

Susan P. Clausen, Ph.D., was appointed senior vice president, clinical research and medical affairs in September 2008. Prior to that, Dr. Clausen was the vice president, clinical research and regulatory affairs since December 2004. She joined the company as Senior Director, Clinical Research in September 2003. From 1994 to 2003, Dr. Clausen was employed at Shire Pharmaceutical Development. While at Shire, she held management positions with increasing responsibilities in the biopharmaceutical and clinical research organizations. As the senior director of clinical research, Dr. Clausen was responsible for clinical development programs in various therapeutic areas including central nervous system, oncology, virology and gastrointestinal disorders. Prior to working at Shire, Dr. Clausen gained additional experience at TSI/ Mason Research Laboratories and at Harvard Medical School as a post-doctoral research fellow. She received a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in chemistry from University College, Dublin, Ireland, a Master of Science in Forensic Science from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland and a doctorate in forensic toxicology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

James Walling is the chief operating officer for SVB Analytics, a wholly owned subsidiary of SVB Financial Group. SVB Analytics provides solutions to analytical problems that are specific to emerging growth technology, life science and venture capital companies. In that regard, SVB Analytics is rendering valuation opinions for clients to help them comply with tax and financial reporting requirements and delivering capitalization management solutions through the firms controlling stake in eProsper, Inc. As chief operating officer Walling oversees SVB Analytics' valuations services team, which counts more than 950 clients to date. Prior to joining SVB Analytics, he was with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP's Valuation Group in San Jose, where he led valuation consulting and focused on complex security and derivative valuation projects, as well as tax and financial reporting valuations. Walling has more than 14 years of experience in the field and previously held leadership positions with valuation services groups at both Coopers & Lybrand and Arthur Andersen. Walling has also worked for several technology companies such as Appiant, Inc. and Quaartz Inc. and he was co-founder and CFO of ClearPath Technologies. Mary Dent is SVB Financial Group's general counsel and secretary, responsible for leading the company's legal department, providing strategic guidance to its management team and board, and spearheading the company's government affairs efforts. This initiative brings together SVB's efforts in four areas that, collectively, are designed to promote the success of SVB's cleantech clients and the development of a robust cleantech sector: Building out a comprehensive cleantech banking practice; informing SVB's clients about relevant business and policy developments; helping to shape policies affecting the sector to ensure they reflect the views and needs of cleantech entrepreneurs; and implementing cleaner, greener business practices within SVB.
Dent has more than 15 years of legal experience in the public and private sectors. She joined SVB Financial Group from New Skies Satellites, a global satellite communications service provider based in the Netherlands. While serving as New Skies' general counsel, she was responsible for all securities and governance matters, including the company's IPO in 2000 on the NYSE and AEX, as well as all regulatory, contractual, and other legal matters affecting the company. She also served as a member of the company's executive management team and, in that capacity, participated in determining and implementing its long term strategy. During the past several years, she played a central role in taking New Skies private in 2004, conducting the company's second IPO on the NYSE in 2005, and in its recent sale to a strategic buyer.
Prior to joining New Skies, Dent was an attorney with Goldberg, Godles, Wiener & Wright, a Washington, DC-based law firm that specializes in legal and policy matters for technology companies. Over the course of her professional career, Dent also worked for Senator Edward Kennedy, was a fellow with the Women's Law & Public Policy Fellowship Program, and served as a law clerk to Judge Royce Lamberth of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.
Dent earned a bachelor's degree in economics from UCLA, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude, and a Juris Doctor degree with Distinction from Stanford Law School.

Michael Descheneaux has extensive accounting and finance, corporate governance and international business experience, which he developed as an auditor and consultant in the financial services and telecommunications sectors. He began working with SVB Financial Group as a consultant in October 2005 and became a permanent employee in November 2006. Prior to joining SVB, Descheneaux was a managing director with Navigant Consulting and head of Arthur Andersen's Financial Services Practice for the Central and Eastern Europe Region, advising large, public and multi-national clients. He was lead audit partner with Andersen's Telecommunications and High Tech Practice in that region, and technical expert partner on U.S. GAAP and GAAS matters. During his time at Andersen, which also included assignments in the firm's New York and Houston offices, Descheneaux advised clients on a wide range of accounting- and finance-related issues, including audits of financial statements, SEC filings, restatements, purchase and due diligence investigations, arbitration and litigation support, internal controls, and off-shore investment structures. Descheneaux has provided extensive acquisition advisory services to large banking clients and has served as an expert and consultant in international arbitration disputes related to banking and investing. Descheneaux holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, as well as a member of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Andy Tsao is a senior vice president with SVB Financial Group UK Ltd., a subsidiary of SVB Financial Group that provides financial services, specifically debt financing, to U.K.-based high-growth technology companies and private equity firms. SVB Financial Group UK Ltd. is part of SVB Global, which provides business and consulting services to technology and private equity firms around the world from its offices in China, India, Israel and the U.K. In this role, Tsao is responsible for building senior debt relationships with high growth technology companies. Tsao manages a portfolio of software and services companies from the seed stage through maturity. Tsao routinely speaks about technology and venture financing at conferences such as EVCA, Red Herring Venture Market and World Financial Symposium. Prior to his role in the U.K., Tsao was a senior vice president in Silicon Valley Bank's Boston office, where he served as a technology lender and senior relationship manager focusing on the technology industry since 1997. While is Boston, Tsao was on the membership committee of the Massachusetts Software and Internet Council, and was awarded Best Banker by Boston Digital Industry in 2001. He chaired and moderated Silicon Valley Bank's quarterly CEO Dinner Group in Boston, and was an organizer of the "Critical Success Factor" series. Prior to joining the company, Tsao was a technology lender at BankBoston, and BayBank in Burlington, Mass. He began his banking career with USTrust in Boston in 1988. Tsao earned a bachelor's degree from Colgate University and an MBA from Boston University.
Daniel Quon is senior vice president of SVB Global. In this role he is responsible for overseeing venture capital and business and market development activities in Asia, including banking, investments, and alliances with venture capital and other key partners in the Asian markets. Quon also oversees and manages the SVB Business Partners (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. team. Quon regularly travels abroad to nurture relationships with Asian equity sources, including venture capitalists and corporate and private investors who are active in the global technology markets. In June 2004 he led 25 senior, U.S.-based venture capitalists on a tour of Shanghai and Beijing, introducing them to various government and business officials. In 2005 Quon was instrumental in the opening of SVB Business Partners (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. He also works with overseas financial institutions and other types of entities that are interested in establishing strategic alliances with SVB Silicon Valley Bank. In addition, Quon frequently introduces U.S. technology companies to the Asian private equity investor community. During his tenure at SVB, Quon has been responsible for approximately 25 fund of fund and direct investments in Asia. With 25 years of experience in banking, Quon is regarded as SVB's expert on China and is frequently sought out for advice and comment by his colleagues and the media regarding technology, business and private equity investing in Asia. Quon is also a regular speaker at industry conferences and seminars. Prior to his current position, Quon was senior vice president and manager of Silicon Valley Bank's Pacific Rim Practice, which focused on U.S.-based companies that received equity funding from Asian venture capital firms or were U.S. subsidiaries of Asia-based companies. Quon is a former board member of AAMA, one of the premier Silicon Valley trade organizations focused on facilitating technology business activities between Silicon Valley and Asia. Currently, Quon is also an advisor to two other Asia trade related associations, Hong Kong-SV.com and SVASE. Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, he served with Plaza/Comerica Bank, Bank of the West/BNP and First Interstate Bank. Ajay Hattangdi, considered a venture lending pioneer in India, is a managing director at SVB India Finance Pvt. Ltd., a venture lending company that provides debt capital to domestic, venture capital-backed companies. He is responsible for managing all lending operations for the firm. Hattangdi joined SVB from Citigroup where he spent more than 12 years building relationships and structuring financing solutions for companies in India. In early 2005, he founded and managed Citigroup's venture debt operation in India where he led investments in several early and growth stage, venture-backed technology and life science companies. Hattangdi was integral to the growth and development of Citigroup's venture lending programs in other Asian markets as well. During that time, Hattangdi had the added responsibility of being the head of strategy for the company's corporate and investment bank in India. His previous positions with Citigroup include senior banker and automobile industry head, new business development head for western India dedicated to the technology, media and life science sectors, and head of the technology practice. Prior to joining Citigroup, Hattangdi was a research analyst for Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited (CRISIL), India's first credit rating agency, and he began his career with Miranda Tools Ltd. in its management training program. Hattangdi is a co-founder of the Praja Foundation, a Mumbai-based non-profit organization committed to reestablishing accountability and transparency in public governance. Ash Lilani is the president of India and China for SVB Financial Group, responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company's operations and pursuits in Asia. In addition, Lilani is a managing director of the company's India-focused investment fund, SVB India Capital Partners, and the CEO of SVB India Finance Pvt. Ltd., a non-bank financial company serving domestic, venture capital-backed companies in India. Previously head of SVB Global, Lilani has developed and managed SVB's global market activities. In this role he set the strategy and oversaw the operation of SVB Financial Group's international expansion into London, Bangalore, Mumbai and Shanghai, and activities in areas of technology concentration, including Israel. Prior to taking on SVB's globalization efforts, Lilani served as senior vice president and manager of Silicon Valley Bank's South Bay region, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, where he was responsible for commercial banking activity in the area. Lilani also served as the country head, SVB India, responsible for the company's activities in India. In his ongoing effort to help venture capital clients better understand and leverage India, Lilani led 23 Silicon Valley venture capitalists on a networking and educational expedition to India in November 2003 and another group to China in June 2004. The trips exposed clients to SVB's connections and clientele in Asia and helped them better understand what it takes to work with Indian and Chinese companies and do business in the regions. These trips helped catalyze the venture capital activity happening in Asia today. Lilani opened Silicon Valley Bank's Philadelphia office and managed this and the New York regional offices from 1997 through 2001. Under Lilani's leadership, the region had expanded to include coverage of New York, Connecticut, Delaware and New Jersey. Before joining SVB, Lilani held technology-lending positions at Meridian Bank and CoreStates Bank, serving as vice president at both companies. Lilani co-founded the technology lending practice at Meridian Bank. Lilani is a charter member of TiE, a network for U.S. and Indian entrepreneurs. Lilani is a founding member, current director and treasurer of the U.S.-India Venture Capital Association. He has served on the investment committee of the Ben Franklin Technology Center, an organization that assists entrepreneurs in Pennsylvania. Chris Edmonds-Waters is head of human resources and a member of SVB Financial Group's executive management team. Edmonds-Waters is responsible for leading the human resources team and developing programs to support SVB Financial Group's ability to effectively provide diversified financial services on a global scale. Edmonds-Waters joined SVB Financial Group in 2003 as the director of organization effectiveness. In that role, he led a group of human resources business partners, learning and development professionals and HR operations team members to ensure that SVB's people strategies aligned with company priorities. More specifically, Edmonds-Waters improved the firm's ability to have employees with the right talent in place in order to achieve key business objectives. He fostered improved coaching, management and compensation practices to fine-tune employee performance at all levels, and worked with executive management to distill and imbue SVB's leadership practices into practical and relevant strategies that help run the firm today. In addition, Edmonds-Waters helped oversee expansion of staff into the Asia, Israel and UK markets, targeting the selection of top talent to run those locations. Prior to joining SVB, Edmonds-Waters held numerous senior human resources positions at Charles Schwab & Co. During his Schwab tenure, Edmonds-Waters specialized in translating Schwab's vision and values into a set of effective leadership and management tactics and practices. He also positioned Schwab for a variety of organization transitions by helping leadership and employees at all levels acclimate and succeed while working through change. He began his career with Macy's California where he graduated from their management training program, spending time in buying and store-line merchandising, as well as in various HR roles.
Cindy Moore is a research director for SVB Analytics. She joined SVB Analytics in 2007, and brings over ten years' experience in mathematical modeling and statistical analysis. Moore brings a wide breadth of experience from Andersen Consulting to the Federal Reserve Bank to software start-ups in spaces including personalization, price optimization, and supply chain collaboration. Prior to joining SVB Analytics, Moore was a senior member of the solutions team at hi-tech start-up E2open where she innovated and created business intelligence product prototypes. Prior to E2open, Moore was the Principal Analyst for software start-up Metreo, where she worked directly with customers to formulate pricing strategies, and prototype methods for: win-loss and optimization models for customer segmentation, market response models, and price elasticity estimation for optimal price setting. Prior to Metreo, Moore held a Management Sciences Consultant position for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco where she led efforts to improve customer profitability and penetration via segmentation of customer base, market basket analysis, and product bundling. Prior to that, Moore was a Solutions Architect for Internet software company Net Perceptions, where she worked directly with customers to envision, create, and implement strategic recommendation technology solutions based in collaborative filtering algorithms. Moore started her industry career as a business consultant with Andersen Consulting, where she lived and worked in Santiago, Chile. Moore earned a bachelor's degree in theoretical mathematics from University of California at Davis, and an master's degree in theoretical mathematics from the University of Oregon. Moore is a native Californian, and a third generation San Franciscan.

Shai Goldman is a director with SVB Capital's Entrepreneur Services Group, which serves as a platform to provide quality investment referrals to venture firms and assist emerging companies in raising capital through strategic introductions to the right investors for their business. Goldman is also responsible for identifying investment opportunities for SVB Capital Partners Fund and other venture capital firms. His primary focus for the investment opportunities is software, particularly in the SaaS, open source, mobile software and digital media subsectors. Goldman has assisted numerous companies raise capital including InfusionSoft, Veodia, Fastscale and Gamestrata. Goldman joined SVB Financial Group in December. Prior to joining the Entrepreneur Services Group, formerly Venture Exchange, Goldman worked with SVB Private Client Services providing personal financing solutions to entrepreneurs, investors and senior executives in the technology, life science, private equity and premium wine industries. Goldman holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Santa Clara University. He is the co-chair of SDForum's Venture Finance SIG, a group dedicated to helping early-stage entrepreneurs prepare to meet with and attain funding from the venture capital community. Goldman is also active with Astia and the California Clean Tech Open. Since, Goldman has been a mentor for BUILD, a non-profit organization committed to inspiring underserved high school students to succeed in school and pursue higher education by advising them on how to create and run a viable small business.
