Elizabeth Slade specialises in all aspects of employment and discrimination law and the employment law aspects of pensions. She acts for employers, employees and their representatives, appearing before Courts and Tribunals at all levels. She deals with both public and private sector employment issues. She has experience of conducting and appearing as counsel to inquiries and of acting as a Designated Independent Person. Elizabeth was the original author of Tolley?s Employment Handbook and editor or co-editor of the 2nd to 7th editions. Elizabeth is a Recorder and Deputy High Court Judge and until 2003 sat as a temporary part-time judge of the Employment Appeal Tribunal. She is Vice President of the Administrative Tribunal of the Bank for International Settlements, Basle and a member of the Administrative Tribunal of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Elizabeth is an honorary Vice-President and past Chairman of the Employment Law Bar Association. She is a Bencher of the Inner Temple, having been elected in 1990. Elizabeth has served as Chairman of the Sex Discrimination Committee of the Bar Council and as a Trustee of the Free Representation Unit. Elizabeth is a CEDR qualified mediator..

Elisabeth believes that AHRMIO provides an excellent unique forum for HR professionals in international organisations to exchange knowledge and ideas and to learn from each other which becomes all the more important as most organisations face significant changes that will challenge current HR strategies and approaches. After a number of years experience in the private sector, Elisabeth joined the international not-for-profit sector in 1992 to "make a difference". She has worked for the Bank for International Settlements since then in human resources, particularly in the areas of performance management and management and leadership development.
