Dow Jones Description
Recycling is not a new idea at Banner Fibreboard Company. Since 1955, when Banner was founded, we have been quietly and efficiently recycling recovered fiber to produce our specialty/colored linerboard. Today at Banner we recycle almost 20,000 tons of reclaimed fiber each year. Our "furnish" coming from suppliers within a 400-mile radius of our West Virginia mill, consists of double-lined kraft clippings, hard white envelope trim, file folder stock, reclaimed newsprint and other reclaimed fiber. During our manufacturing process, we recycle even further - salvaging the trim from our rewinder to be re-used in many of our quality linerboard grades and re-using water in our manufacturing process to boost conservation. We can deliver more than 32,000 tons of our recycled products annually - to customers as far away as the West Coast, Canada and Europe. Recycling made sense to us back in 1955, just as it does today. Using 100% recycled furnish to make our products proves to be good for our company, our customers, the environment and future generations.
