Bernie Sherry joined Baptist Hospital as president and CEO in June 2003. He is responsible for leading the largest not-for-profit community hospital in Middle Tennessee with 683 licensed beds and nearly 2,000 associates. Prior to joining Baptist Hospital and Saint Thomas Health Services, Sherry worked at the Greenville University Hospital System, a 1,100 bed multi-hospital system, in Greenville, S.C. He earned his bachelor's degree from Gannon University in Erie, Penn., and his master's degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He is a diplomat of the American College of Health Care Executives and a participant in Ascension Health's Leadership Formation for Healthcare Ministry, a two-year program focusing on ministry within a healthcare setting. Sherry is active in the Nashville community and serves on several corporate boards. Sherry and his wife, Lori, have three children and live in Franklin, Tenn.

Darryl J. Blinski, MD is the co-director and founder of Miami?s Clinic of Cosmetic Surgery. The Miami-born plastic/cosmetic surgeon has been in private practice for over 25 years. Dr. Blinski is the senior staff plastic surgeon for Baptist Hospital of Miami, after being the subsection chief of Plastic Surgery for Baptist Hospital from 1988 through 1993. Dr. Blinski was elected the ?best plastic surgeon? in Dade County in 1993 by other doctors for the magazine South Florida. He is an active member of many national and international plastic/cosmetic surgery societies.

Alejandro Badia, MD, FACS is a hand and upper extremity surgeon and co-founder of the Miami Hand Center. He is chief of hand surgery at Baptist Hospital in Miami and a member of the ASSH, AAHS, AAOS and an honorary member of many foreign hand surgery societies. Dr. Badia studied physiology at Cornell University and obtained his medical degree at NYU, where he also trained in orthopedics. A hand fellowship at Alleghany General Hospital in Pittsburgh was followed by an AO trauma fellowship in Freiburg, Germany. He runs an active international hand fellowship, serves on the editorial board of two hand journals, and organizes a yearly Miami meeting for surgeons /therapists that is devoted to upper limb arthroscopy and arthroplasty. He recently completed the Badia Hand to Shoulder Center, a fully integrated clinical facility for the upper limb encompassing digital radiography, MRI extremity imaging, Integra rehabilitation facility, Doctors Now acute care center and the Surgery Center at Doral. Kenneth C. Hertz, M.D. is a Board Certified Dermatologist with his office located in the Baptist Hospital area of Miami. He specializes in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of skin cancers as well as cosmetic procedures such as Botox, chemical peels, laser treatment of telangiectasias and pigmented lesions, and Restylane. Dr. Hertz is a ?triple ivy?. He holds an undergraduate degree from Brown University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, with highest honors in biology, a medical degree from Harvard, and completed a year of postgraduate training in dermatology at Yale. He performed his Internship in Internal Medicine at Boston City Hospital and completed his Residency in Dermatology at University of Miami School of Medicine. During his training Dr. Hertz spent two years as Assistant Resident in Dermatology at Yale New Haven Hospital and spent two years as a Clinical Associate at the National Institutes of Health where he did research on immunologic aspects of dermatology and is the author of numerous papers published in prestigious journals. Dr. Hertz is a member of several professional societies, including the American Medical Association, Dade County Medical Association, and Florida Medical Association. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, where he has also served on the board of directors. He is a member of the Miami Dermatologic Society, and has twice been elected its president. In addition, Dr. Hertz has spoken at the Washington, D.C. Dermatological Society, the National Institutes of Health Workshop on vitiligo, and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. He is currently the subsection chief of dermatology at Baptist Hospital in Miami. Dr. Hertz, who has been cited as ?Best Dermatologist? by Miami Magazine, is also a Voluntary Professor at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He will continue to maintain his private practice at its current location in the Baptist Hospital area of Miami.

Michael C. Swan, M.D. Michael C. Swan is an OB/GYN practicing at Baptist Hospital since 1997. He received a B.S. from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA and his M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Swan completed his residency at Kessler Medical Center on Kessler Air Force Base in Mississippi. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Currently, Swan serves as Chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Baptist Hospital.

He attended medical school at the University of Tennessee and did his residency and fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a staff consultant in Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Mayo Clinic prior to becoming program director the UT Baptist-Nashville program in 1982. He held that post until 1995 and is currently Chief Clinical Officer at Baptist Hospital.

Robert (Bob) Hardin, M.D., has been a part of Baptist Hospital since 1964 when he joined the medical staff as a cardiothoracic surgeon. He has served as senior vice president and chief medical officer since 1997 and also held the positions of interim chief operating officer and associate director of medical affairs. He was honored with the Heart of Baptist Award in 2003. As a physician, Dr. Hardin represented the medical staff at Baptist serving in various capacities including, chief of staff, vice chief of staff, president and chief of surgery.

Cyd Cadena is Vice President of Clinical Services for Baptist Hospital and a consultant with Baptist Leadership Group. She brings 30 years of clinical and healthcare educational experience to the team. In her consulting role, she provides organizational assessments for hospital clients across the country and helps them identify cultural strengths and weaknesses. In doing so, Cyd develops strategies, tactics, action items and goals for improved service excellence that apply throughout the organization, from top-level leadership to front-line employees. Her experience as a nursing officer allows her to bring real-world, proven solutions to the table and her state certification as a risk manager adds another layer of expertise in quality improvement. She is also a certified businessThink trainer. In addition to her role in Clinical Services, Cyd has been a leader at Baptist Health Care for over 25 years in multiple areas, including Quality Improvement, Women's Services, Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, Emergency Services and Air Ambulance-LifeFlight Services. She currently serves as Director of Operations for Baptist Medical Park and was previously the chief nursing officer with two Baptist Health Care affiliate hospitals, Jay and Atmore Community Hospitals, where she was integral in bringing cultural and service excellence to these two organizations. She graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia and has worked in a variety of hospital settings, from large teaching organizations to community-based facilities. Cyd also is a member of the American College for Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Holbrook is currently the Director of Interventional Neuroradiology at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He received his medical degree at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia in 1987. A general surgery internship and diagnostic radiology residency were performed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Holbrook also has completed fellowships in diagnostic neuroradiology (Emory University Atlanta, GA) and interventional neuroradiology (Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis, TN). Dr. Holbrook has participated in numerous clinical investigative trials and research studies. He is a member of the American Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology, American Society of Neuroradiology, American Society of Spine Radiology and numerous other national and local medical societies.

Jason Chancey is an RN, CEN, and EMT-P. He is the ACLS and PALS Course Director for Baptist Hospital. He holds the following certifications: ACLS-RF, PALS-RF, BLS-I, ITLS-I, PEPP-I,TNCC, and NRP and is a member of the ENA.

Anne Zichterman, Pharm.D., has joined the Aegis Sciences Corporation as the consulting pharmacist for pain management. Dr. Zichterman graduated from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and completed a residency in pharmacy practice at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Zichterman worked with the inpatient pain management team in the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. She gained experience in assisting with outpatient pain management at the clinic pharmacy in The Ohio State University Medical Center. She recently completed an advanced practice Pain Management Traineeship with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. Dr. Zichterman is a member of the American Society of Pain Educators, and is currently the pharmacy clinical specialist for pain management at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

A member of the Radiology Associates of South Florida, Dr. Nadel is an attending radiologist at Baptist Hospital of Miami, South Miami Hospital, Homestead Hospital, and Baptist Outpatient Centers. She has served as an instructor in neuroradiology and an assistant professor of radiology at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Nadel has been an attending radiologist at Jackson Memorial Medical Center at the University of Miami, Pal Med Radiology and Diagnostic Services at Palmetto General Hospital, and Jackson South Community Hospital. Dr. Nadel has been published a number of times on subjects including primary linitis plastica of the colon and rectum, magnetic resonance imaging in schizophrenia, and CT and MR imaging of the central skull base. Dr. Nadel has written multiple abstracts on topics such as MR imaging in the evaluation of facial pain and perineural tumor extension through the foramen ovale. Dr. Nadel received an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and an M.D. from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed an internship in pathology at Beth Israel Hospital, a diagnostic radiology residency and a fellowship in neuroradiology and MRI at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals, and a fellowship in neuroradiology and MRI at Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Iparraguirre has also served as an associate radiologist at South Miami Hospital and as a research consultant for Cordis Research Corporation. She has also lectured on breast ultrasounds and sonohyterography review and applications. Dr. Iparraguirre earned an undergraduate degree and an M.D. from the University of Miami . She completed an internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in medical technology, a residency at Jackson Memorial School in diagnostic radiology, and a fellowship in body imaging at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Carr completed his internship, residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He received the Osler Award for excellence in clinical diagnosis. He then completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at UAB. Dr. Carr has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee since joining the faculty at Baptist Hospital in 1991. Dr. Carr is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease and serves as the hospital epidemiologist and head of infection control for Baptist Hospital. He is an active member of numerous societies, including the Infectious Disease Society of America, the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America, and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Koenigsberg is a member of the Radiology Associates of South Florida and works as a senior staff radiologist at Baptist Hospital of Miami, South Miami Hospital, Homestead Hospital, and the Baptist Outpatient Centers. He has conducted research at the Weizman Science Institute, Mount Sinai Medical School, and the May Institute of Research. He has also acted as a staff lecturer in MRI for Diagnostics Inc. and as a guest lecturer in musculoskeletal MRI for Annual Lipton Sports Medicine. Dr. Koenigsberg has been published numerous times, including articles on MRI of the head and neck, MRI of the heart, and focal lesions of the pancreas. Dr. Koenigsberg was selected as "One of America's Top Physicians for 2004-2005" by Consumers Research Council of America. Also, he is a former board member of the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Koenigsberg received an undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University and an M.D. from the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated with honors. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Jewish Hospital and a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Cincinnati 's Medical Center. Dr. Koenigsberg finished a fellowship at Tufts-New England Medical Center in neuro and body imaging.

Tammie Stefanko, RN, BSN, has been selected as stroke coordinator for Baptist Hospital. Stefanko has served at Baptist Hospital for 24 years, most recently as case management supervisor. She worked as a nurse on the neurology floor for more than 18 years. Her certifications include Case Management Certification-Outcomes Case Management and Accredited Case Manager-Hospital Case Management. In her new role, Stefanko will organize, plan, manage and evaluate the hospitals stroke program. Her responsibilities include coordinating stroke education for all staff. Stefanko will ensure the fulfillment of new disease-specific criteria for stroke programs as dictated by the Joint Commission Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations. Stefanko also will serve as brain and spinal cord coordinator.

At that time, Nick Reynolds joined Morrison as a part-time employee while he was still in college at Point Park College. His first job was washing dishes and preparing food.
