Howard T. Reben graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1969. He was elected to membership in the Buffalo Law Review. While at law school he was the Research Assistant to Dean William Hawkland, a nationally known authority in Commercial Law. Mr. Reben has practiced employment law, ADA, civil rights and personal injury law in Maine since 1970. In recent years he has litigated employment cases throughout Maine. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers of America for 2008 and has received special recognition for being selected each year for more than a decade. Mr. Reben has participated in continuing legal education programs for lawyers and as a teacher at the University of Maine School of Law. He has taught in continuing legal education forums for fellow lawyers on workers compensation, employment law, civil rights and negotiation skills. Mr. Reben has been a speaker for the National Employment Lawyers Association at regional and national conferences. He is a member of a national board of directors for the Institute of Advanced Dispute Resolution. Mr. Reben is often selected as an arbitrator and mediator. He serves as General Counsel to Local 340 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the Stagehands Union, and Security Guards Union at Bath Iron Works. Litigation has been a major activity in Mr. Reben's practice. He has handled many jury trials and has had numerous appearances before the Maine Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals.
