President & CEO, BAX Global Inc. Joseph L. Carnes is President & CEO of BAX Global Inc. at its worldwide headquarters in Irvine, California. With the Deutsche Bahn AG purchase of BAX Global in 2006, Carnes is a member of the Steering Committee, to oversee the integration of BAX Global and Schenker AG. Mr. Carnes was elevated to the additional role of CEO in 2006. He was BAX Global's President, U.S. and Canada prior to becoming President of BAX Global Inc., in 2000. Mr. Carnes joined BAX Global with more than 20 years experience in the transportation and supply chain management field. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President, North America for Fritz, a $1.3 billion international logistics company. While there, he was responsible for $900 million in revenue, 4,600 employees and total P&L responsibility for North America and the FedEx express clearance operations in Memphis, Tenn., Anchorage, Alaska and Oakland, Calif. Mr. Carnes spent 12 years at Fritz. Before his tenure at Fritz, Mr. Carnes was Vice President of Operations for The Jennings Company, a multi-million dollar regional import and export company in the Southeastern U.S. And prior to Jennings, he was with the U.S. Customs Service. He is also a licensed Customshouse Broker.
