President & CEO, BAX Global Inc. Joseph L. Carnes is President & CEO of BAX Global Inc. at its worldwide headquarters in Irvine, California. With the Deutsche Bahn AG purchase of BAX Global in 2006, Carnes is a member of the Steering Committee, to oversee the integration of BAX Global and Schenker AG. Mr. Carnes was elevated to the additional role of CEO in 2006. He was BAX Global's President, U.S. and Canada prior to becoming President of BAX Global Inc., in 2000. Mr. Carnes joined BAX Global with more than 20 years experience in the transportation and supply chain management field. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President, North America for Fritz, a $1.3 billion international logistics company. While there, he was responsible for $900 million in revenue, 4,600 employees and total P&L responsibility for North America and the FedEx express clearance operations in Memphis, Tenn., Anchorage, Alaska and Oakland, Calif. Mr. Carnes spent 12 years at Fritz. Before his tenure at Fritz, Mr. Carnes was Vice President of Operations for The Jennings Company, a multi-million dollar regional import and export company in the Southeastern U.S. And prior to Jennings, he was with the U.S. Customs Service. He is also a licensed Customshouse Broker.

Chet Lakhani is vice president of global technology and infrastructure for BAX Global, where he oversees all technology-related departments including wide area networks, voice and data communications, local area networks, Internet infrastructure and data center operations. Chet is currently helping Web4 develop its business strategy in terms of technology. Prior to joining BAX Global, he was vice president and chief information officer of AST Computer. He also served in various management positions with Smith International, including director of financial & strategic planning, director of corporate development and chief information officer. He is affiliated with Pepperdine University, where he teaches in the MBA program at its School of Business and Management. Chet earned his master s degree in finance from Indiana University, a master s in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a bachelor s in engineering from the University of Poona, India.

GREGG BORGESON has worked in transportation since 1973, originally with Emery and later BAX Global. In 1984, he became CEO of ASG, and in 1988, he helped found Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in North America. He served as Hellmann's CEO from 1991 until 1999. Late that year he founded QuoteShip.com, a company focused on automated solutions for transportation pricing, which he later merged into Logistics.com.
