Judy Koh, MBA, CPA, is an Operating Partner and the Chief Financial Officer at Bay City Capital and has been with the firm since April 1998. Ms. Koh manages the financial and treasury operations, as well the accounting and tax reporting for all Bay City Capital entities. Ms. Koh served as Chief Financial Officer of Montgomery Capital from 1992-1998 where she was in charge of a portfolio of real estate partnerships. Previously, she was Accounting Manager at Juilliard Alpha Distributions and a Senior Accountant at BDO Seidman where she supervised a diverse range of audit engagements. Ms. Koh received an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Golden Gate University and a BS from the University of Massachusetts.

Kirby Bartlett, MBA, is an Operating Partner and the Chief Administrative Officer at Bay City Capital and has been with the firm since its formation in June 1997. Mr. Bartlett is responsible for a variety of administrative, operating, and investing activities. He has been involved in 25 investments, including key roles with Chemdex, Lexicon, and Epocrates, and in various strategic financings and partnerships for portfolio companies such as Reliant Pharmaceuticals, Intarcia, and OmegaTech. Mr. Bartlett joined the team in 1997, when Bay City Capital was formed. Previously, he worked for Burrill & Craves where he advised in transactions with Baxter, W. R. Grace, and Eli Lilly. Mr. Bartlett also worked at BAbCO (acquired by Covance) for six years where he managed a majority of its contract research services. Mr. Bartlett graduated first in his class in the MBA program at the University of San Francisco, and holds a BA in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Marge Josephson is Vice President of Human Resources and Operational Services at Bay City Capital and has been with the firm since its formation in June 1997. Ms. Josephson is responsible for a variety of supporting roles including Human Resources, Contract Management, Purchasing, Facilities, and MIS coordination. Previously, Ms. Josephson worked for Burrill & Craves as an Executive Assistant where she supported Fred Craves and the professional team working on transactions with W.R. Grace, Baxter, and Eli Lilly. Ms. Josephson also worked for MicroProbe Corporation (renamed Epoch Pharmaceuticals and acquired by Nanogen) for two years supporting Fred Craves as CEO, and in-house Counsel. Ms. Josephson graduated from SUNY Brockport with a BS in Health Science Education, Community Health, and Public Health.

Charles Hsu, PhD, MBA, a Venture Partner with Bay City Capital, has over 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry, including 15 years as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, dedicated to investments in early-stage life science and health care firms. He is currently a Venture Partner with Pappas Ventures, and a director or advisor to various companies based in China. He has co-founded and/or directly invested in over 20 companies, and has served on the board of directors of 15 companies. Prior to starting his venture capital career, he managed research teams in two start-up biotechnology companies. Some of Dr. Hsu's past investments include Lexicon Genetics, Aviron, Axys, and KOSAN Pharmaceuticals. He is active internationally, having worked with several companies in Europe, Israel, and Asia. He was a co-founding investor in Asia Renal Care, Asia's largest and most profitable independent kidney dialysis provider, and is founder and Chairman of Eureka! Pharmaceuticals, a drug discovery company with its R&D activities in China. Dr. Hsu holds his PhD in Genetics and his MBA from Stanford University, and an AB degree (magna cum laude) in Biochemistry from Harvard.

Nathan B. Pliam, MD, PhD, a Venture Partner with Bay City Capital is trained as a cell biologist and orthopedic surgeon, and has worked within, and as an advisor to, biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies. He is a founder of Guided Delivery Systems, a medical device company developing a minimally invasive technology for treatment of mitral valve regurgitation, and a founder of Pharmagenesis, a natural products pharmaceutical company. As an independent consultant and as managing director of a boutique investment banking firm, he has advised life science companies and investors (including Biomet, Devax, Hanwha Pharmaceutical, Marubeni Group, Micrus Endovascular, and Triage Medical) on financing transactions and strategy. He is an inventor with patents in medical devices and biopharmaceuticals. Dr. Pliam holds an MD from Dartmouth Medical School and a PhD in Endocrine Physiology from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Pliam completed his surgical training at UCSF and Stanford University. He completed his undergraduate degree in German literature from the University of California, Berkeley, and studied at Georg August Universitaet in Goettingen.

Raymond Tabibiazar, MD, PhD, a Venture Partner with Bay City Capital, is the founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Aviir, a venture-backed diagnostic company in the Bay Area. Previously he was the scientific co-founder and the Vice President of Translational Research of VIA Pharmaceuticals, where he continues to serve as a scientific advisor. Dr. Tabibiazar is also a board certified Clinical Cardiologist and an adjunct clinical instructor in medicine. He completed his medical training at Harvard University, followed by an Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular fellowship at Stanford University. He has won numerous honors and research awards, and has authored several peer reviewed papers on genomics and proteomics of atherosclerosis, ischemia, coronary disease, and heart failure.

He has over 10 years of experience in the field of Neuroscience and has received several young investigator awards for his achievements in nitric oxide research. Dr. Lopez received a PhD in Medicine and Surgery, and an MS in Molecular and Cell Biology from the Universities of Las Palmas and La Laguna, Spain, respectively. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Mental Health Research Institute at the University of Michigan and at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Ross Bersot, CFA, is a Principal at Bay City Capital and has been with the firm since September 2002. Mr. Bersot focuses on evaluating investment opportunities for the firm. As part of the Pritzker Research Consortia Business Strategy Team, he works to commercialize IP derived from the academic groups' research in neuropsychiatric disorders and neurogenesis. Mr. Bersot was previously an analyst at Jackson Square Partners, L.P. where he evaluated investment opportunities within the healthcare and technology sectors for inclusion in the hedge fund's long/short portfolio of publicly traded stocks. Prior to that, he worked as both an equity and fixed-income analyst and trader at Payden & Rygel Investment Counsel in Los Angeles. In a period of three and a half years, various responsibilities included analysis of the healthcare and technology industries for the firm's small-cap equity portfolios, trading $1.5 billion equity and equity derivatives separate accounts, and working as a member of the team managing a $5 billion global fixed income portfolio. Mr. Bersot received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Jim Murray has been investing in early stage companies for over 25 years, and has been a principal in firms specializing in investment banking and venture capital for telecom and information technology businesses since 1982. Prior to Court Square, he was a founding partner of Columbia Capital, which today manages three funds aggregating over $1.4 billion. Jim is currently a director of CSV I portfolio companies Mintera Corp. and Labrador Communications. He serves on the strategic advisory board of Birchmere Ventures II, LP/Bay City Capital and previously served on the Technology Crossover Ventures Internet Advisory Committee. During his career he has served as a director of over two dozen technology companies including some seven firms that were IPOs, publicly listed, or merged into public companies. He served for two years as CEO of North Coast Cellular, an operating service provider in Northern California. He currently serves on the board of the Smurfit Graduate School of Business Administration, University College, Dublin, Ireland. He is the author of Wireless Nation: The Frenzied Launch of the Cellular Revolution in America, the first definitive account of how the American cell phone industry evolved (selected by Booklist as one of the ?top ten? business books of 2001). As an inventor, Mr. Murray is the holder of a U.S. patent for a wireless maritime ignition control system. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia, a J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary, and an honorary Doctor of Laws from the College of William and Mary.

Lester J. Kaplan, Ph.D. has served as a director of our company since November 1997. Dr. Kaplan was Executive Vice President and President, Research and Development at Allergan, Inc. from November 2003 to April 2004. Dr. Kaplan joined Allergan in 1983 and, prior to being appointed to Executive Vice President, was Corporate Vice President, Research and Development and Global BOTOX from June 1998 to November 2003. Dr. Kaplan was elected to Allergan's board of directors in 1994 and served in that capacity until April 2004. Dr. Kaplan is also a member of the board of Acucela Inc. and the National Neurovision Research Institute. Dr. Kaplan received a M.S. and Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles. Torsten Rasmussen has served as a director of our company since April 1998. Mr. Rasmussen has been President and CEO of Morgan Management ApS, a management advisory and consulting company, since 1997. Prior to founding Morgan Management ApS in 1997, Mr. Rasmussen held the position of Executive Vice President, Operations at the LEGO Group (LEGO A/S) in Denmark, since 1981. He currently serves as a board member in the capacity of chairman, deputy chairman or ordinary board member of a number of Danish companies of which the following are quoted on the Danish Stock Exchange: Coloplast A/S, Bang & Olufsen A/S, TK Development A/S, Vestas Wind Systems A/S and A/S Det Oestasiatiske Kompagni. Mr. Rasmussen holds an M.B.A. from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. Alan G. Walton, Ph.D., D.Sc. has served as a director of our company since March 2003. Dr. Walton joined Oxford Partners as a General Partner in 1987. In 1991, he founded Oxford Bioscience Partners and he is currently Senior Partner and Chairman of Oxford Bioscience Corporation. Previously, he was President and CEO of University Genetics Co., a public biotechnology company involved in technology transfer and seed investments in university-related projects. Prior to University Genetics, he taught at several institutions including Harvard Medical School, Indiana University and Case Western Reserve where he was Professor of Macromolecular Science and Director of the Laboratory for Biological Macromolecules. Dr. Walton serves on the Boards of Alexandria Real Estate Equities and Advanced Cell Technology, and is Chairman, as well as a Board member, of Avalon Pharmaceuticals and Psychiatric Genomics. He is also on the Board of Research!America, a philanthropic organization. Dr. Walton was a founder of Human Genome Sciences and GeneLogic and is the Founding Chairman of the Biotechnology Venture Investors Group. Dr. Walton received a Ph.D. in chemistry and a D.Sc. in biological chemistry from Nottingham University in England and in 2005 received an honorary LLD degree for his lifetime achievement in life sciences form Nottingham University. E. Rolland Dickson, MD, is a member of Bay City Capital's Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Dickson is a consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a Clinical Investigator at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Mary Lowell Leary Professor of Medicine, and Emeritus Director for Development of the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Dr. Dickson is internationally recognized for his leadership in the fields of liver disease and liver transplantation. He has been a member of the Mayo consulting staff since 1964 and was elected to the Mayo Foundation Board of Trustees in February 1999. Dr. Dickson has been continually funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since the late 1970s and served on the National Digestive Disease Advisory Board of the NIH. Recent professional recognitions include the Distinguished Achievement Award in Clinical Research in Liver Disease, presented by the American Gastroenterology Association in 1994, and the Mayo Clinic Department of Medicine Research Achievement Award in 1998. He was honored in April of 2006 by being awarded a Master's Degree in the American College of Physicians. Dr. Dickson earned his BA degree at Ohio Weslyan University, an MD degree at Ohio State University College of Medicine, and an MS degree at the University of Minnesota.
