Dr. Ho is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programs to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care services throughout PacifiCare. Moreover, he is responsible for improving the health status of PacifiCare's member population in all products. Specifically, Dr. Ho is the Health Services executive who is responsible for quality improvement, medical management, disease management, informatics, report cards, policy, government affairs, industry relations, media relations, provider liaison and sales & marketing. Dr. Ho is currently a member of several national advisory committees, representing physicians and managed care throughout the health care industry - including those of the Institute of Medicine and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He has held positions as the Chairman of the California Medical Association and California Nurses' Association's Joint Practice Commission. In addition, he has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Regional Cancer Foundation and the San Francisco Medical Society. The Honolulu native received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Northwestern University in 1972 with Phi Beta Kappa honors, and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1976. Dr. Ho completed his residency in family practice at the University of California, San Francisco, and has maintained board certification with the American Board of Family Practice since then.

Dr. Kosecoff is CEO, Prescriptions Solutions (RxS), UnitedHealth Group. She is responsible for United’s PBM, Specialty Pharmacy, and Consumer Health Products. UnitedHealth Group is a diversified health and well-being company, serving approximately 70 million Americans. Dr. Kosecoff joined UnitedHealth Group as part of its acquisition of PacifiCare Health Systems in 2005. At PacifiCare, Dr. Kosecoff served as Executive Vice President with responsibility for its specialty businesses, including its PBM, the Medicare Part D Drug Program, PacifiCare Behavioral Health (PBH), PacifiCare Dental & Vision (PDV), and Women’s Health Solutions. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group-PacifiCare, Dr. Kosecoff was founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of Protocare (now Constella Health Strategies and Radiant Research), a firm whose lines of business included the clinical development of drugs, devices, biopharmaceutical and nutritional products and health services consulting. Dr. Kosecoff was co-founder and Co-CEO of Value Health Sciences (VHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Value Health, Inc. (NYSE: VHI). VHS was the first company to combine medical sciences and information technology to reengineer the utilization review and approval process, saving payors millions while improving the quality of care. Dr. Kosecoff served as Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she still holds a Research Professorship. In addition to her accomplishments as an entrepreneur, Dr. Kosecoff is a recognized expert in the areas of clinical and health services research, quality of care and technology assessment, disease management, and organization of the health care delivery system. She has published extensively in such journals as the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association, and the Annals of Internal Medicine. She has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization’s Global Quality Assessment Programs, on the Institute of Medicine’s Board of Health Care Services, the RAND Graduate School’s Board of Governors, and the Board of Directors for ALARIS (NYSE: AMI) now part of Cardinal Health. Currently, Dr. Kosecoff sits on the board of directors for City of Hope, Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA), Sealed Air Corporation (NYSE: SEE), STERIS Corporation (NYSE: STE), and the Alliance for Aging Research and serves on the Catalyst Western Region Advisory Board. Dr. Kosecoff holds a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), an MS in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, and a doctorate in Research Methods from UCLA.

Nancy J. Monk, M.P.H., M.B.A., brings a wealth of experience in healthcare systems management to the Board. She is the Vice President of Public and Regulatory Affairs at PacifiCare Health Systems in Cypress , Calif. , where she has served for the past 10 years. Nancy has drawn accolades for her work in managed care and policy development, and continues to lead with her experience in strategic planning, government relations and leadership training and development. She earned her two masters' degrees from UCLA's School of Public Health and Graduate School of Management, and remains active academically as a member of the Masters in Health Administration Advisory Board at CSU Long Beach.

Riva Gebel joined PacifiCare Health Systems in January 1993 as employee volunteer program coordinator. She developed an employee giving campaign for the newly established PacifiCare Foundation. In 1996, Gebel was appointed director of the PacifiCare Foundation. Gebel directs the operation and administration of the Foundation enterprisewide. The Foundation is devoted to charitable causes that enhance the health, wellness and welfare of children, individuals, families, seniors and the community. In addition, Gebel oversees the volunteer program, the community relations involvement program, and the annual employee giving campaign. Gebel serves on the boards of directors for: The Painted Turtle n A Hole In The Wall Gang Camp; Urban Entertainment Institute; American Heart AssociationnWestern States Affiliate; Orange County Community Relations Council; and the PacifiCare Foundation.

Terry Hartshorn is an entrepreneur, investor and senior business executive with deep healthcare industry knowledge. Terry recently concluded serving 12 years as a director of PacifiCare Health Systems, Inc., which generates revenues in excess of $13 billion and has approximately 10,000 employees. He was the founding and chief executive officer of PacifiCare, growing the company to one of the largest consumer healthcare providers in the U.S., and served in that position until 1993. Earlier in his career, Hartshorn held various senior management positions in physician group practices and hospitals. He began his career in 1969 as an officer with the U.S. Public Health Service. Terry is a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for health and life sciences.
