Berkeley Citizens, Inc. (BCI) is a non-profit human service organization whose goal is to provide individuals with lifelong developmental disabilities the opportunity to develop and maintain productive, self-fulfilling lifestyles. Berkeley Citizens, Inc. is funded through the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Trident United Way, grant programs and donations from private companies and individuals. Berkeley Citizens, Inc. manages and maintains a variety of residential options and an adult day workshop which provides employment opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities. Additionally, Berkeley Citizens, Inc. provides service coordination to over 600 individuals and offers early intervention services to families of children, from birth to three years old, with developmental disabilities. Our Mission is to create and promote opportunities for people with lifelong developmental disabilities. To individually design supports, services and training and to provide them in a manner which protects an individual's dignity, rights, and self worth, while enhancing each person's potential, capacity for self-determination and choice to the fullest.
