Mark Karsch serves as Vice President of Finance at Beyond.com, Inc. In his role, Mark will be responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of Beyond's operations including accounting, budgeting, business planning and treasury management, including the proceeds of $13.5 million of Series A financing received from Safeguard Scientifics. Mark brings over 29 years of experience in financial management, operational management, business planning and measurements, mergers and acquisitions, and development of strategic partnerships in rapidly changing, highly competitive markets. Prior to joining Beyond.com, Inc., Mark served as Chief Financial Officer for Escalon Medical Corporation, located in Wayne, PA. His duties included managing all aspects of budgeting and reporting, as well as participating in key strategic initiatives to drive corporate growth and profitability. During his career, Mark also held several Chief Financial Officer positions at technology-based corporations including Multimedia Marketing Training Solutions, Integrated Marketing Communications LLC, eonDigital, Inc. 4anything.com, Inc. and Tseng Labs, Inc. Mark earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Joseph University as well as received CPA certification in Pennsylvania.

Jeffrey Ford is the author of seven novels - Vanitas, World Fantasy Award winner The Physiognomy, Memoranda, The Beyond, The Portrait of Mrs Charbuque, The Girl in the Glass, and The Shadow Year. His short fiction, which has appeared in Fantasy & Science Fiction, SCI FICTION, Black Gate, The Green Man, Leviathan 3, The Dark, and many year's best anthologies, and has won the World Fantasy and Nebula Awards has been collected in World Fantasy Award winner The Fantasy Writer's Assistant and Other Stories and The Empire of Ice Cream. He lives in South Jersey with his wife and two sons, and teaches Writing and Literature at Brookdale Community College in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Upcoming is a new collection, The Drowned Life.

Jim Dailey is currently the principal in charge of the Construction Management Services for Aldrich Kilbride & Tatone LLC in Salem, Ore. Prior to joining AKT, Dailey worked for 13 years in private industry as controller, vice president of finance, general manager and project manager for two construction companies. AKT serves more than 150 contractor clients with annual fees in excess of $2.5 million. Dailey typically works with commercial contractors, including general building contractors, general engineering/excavation contractors, specialty contractors, architectural and engineering firms and various subcontractor trades. He provides financial statements, income tax planning and taxation, operational reviews, general business planning, financing and job-costing design and implementation. Dailey is an active member in Associated General Contractors, the Construction Financial Management Association, Associated Builders and Contractors and the National Utility Contractors Association. He is a frequent speaker and instructor for CFMA's Basics and Beyond, the construction accounting seminar series.

Mahmud Ali Durrani became ambassador of Pakistan to the United States on June 8. Ambassador Durrani previously served in the Governing Council of the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London from 2001 to 2004. After retiring from the Pakistani Army, he was also actively involved in the peace efforts between Pakistan and India, and, as part of a process sponsored by the United Nations, he worked with former senior officials from the United States, Russia and Iran to find a peaceful settlement to the Afghan crisis. Ambassador Durrani graduated from the Pakistan Military Academy in 1961 and served in various command and instructional appointments during his army career, including Pakistan s defense and military attache in Washington (1977-82), military secretary to the Pakistani president (1983-86), and chairman and chief executive of the Pakistan Ordnance Factories Board (1992-98). In addition, he is the author of several books and studies, including India and Pakistan: The Cost of Conflict and the Benefits of Peace, and Pakistan s Security Imperatives Year 2000 and Beyond. Ambassador Durrani is married with three children.

Michel Chossudovsky is Professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa. He has taught as Visiting Professor at academic institutions in Western Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia, has acted as economic adviser to governments of developing countries and has worked as a consultant for several international organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the African Development Bank, the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (AIEDEP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Health Organisation (WHO), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). Dr. Chossudovsky is past President of the Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies. He is member of a number of research organisations including the Committee on Monetary and Economic Reform (COMER), the Geopolitical Drug Watch (OGD) (Paris)and the International People's Health Council (IPHC). Sara brings to Bridges and Beyond a wide variety of experiences in working with children of various ability levels from those with developmental delays to those who are academically gifted. In addition to providing home-based early intervention services through First Journeys Inclusive Preschool, she has worked for Durham Public Schools and Wake County Public Schools. Sara lives in Wake Forest with her husband Chris and their daughters, Ariana and Karys.

Linda Whitlock, a seasoned leader and experienced manager, is Nicholas President and Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB), one of the most esteemed non-profit organizations in Boston. Linda brings her passion for children to her leadership of her organization whose high-impact programs enable nearly13,000 children and teens from low-income neighborhoods in Greater Boston to become responsible citizens and leaders. An alumna of Mount Holyoke College with a Master of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Michigan, Linda served in the administrations of Governor Dukakis and Governor King of Massachusetts. Having taught in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy at Tufts University, and the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan, Linda has also been a senior administrator and member of the faculties at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and Concord Academy. Ms. Whitlock is an active participant on many corporate and non-profit boards, including the Boards of Directors of the Boston Stock Exchange, Cambridge Trust Company, Brandeis University, and the Fessenden School.

Paul Davies, an internationally acclaimed physicist and writer, is the Director of Beyond: the Centre for Fundamental Concepts in Science at Arizona State University in Tempe. He has held previous academic appointments at the universities of Cambridge, London, Adelaide and Macquarie, and is chair of the SETI post-detection taskgroup of the International Academy of Astronautics, the team that will decide what to do if an extraterrestrial signal is detected. The author of over 20 books, including bestsellers The Goldilocks Enigma and The Mind of God, he is the winner 2001 Kelvin Medal by Britain's Institute of Physics, and the 2002 Faraday Prize by the Royal Society. His research interests are in the fields of cosmology, quantum field theory, and astrobiology.
