Bharti Tele-Ventures

Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal was appointed as Additional Director on the Board of the Company on December 30, 2005 . He is the Founder Director of Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited. He is also a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade & Industry and has headed various telecom industry associations. Mr. Mittal is also the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Seychelles in India and has won a number of national and international awards for his contributions to business such as the Asia Businessman of the Year, 2006 by Fortune magazine, Asia Pacific CEO of the Year by Frost and Sullivan 2006 etc.

Mr. Donald Cameron was appointed to the Board in Sept 2001 and became Chairman of the Compensation Committee in April 2005. He is a Chemical Engineer and has a Masters Degree in Economics and Administration in the petroleum industry from Loughborough University. For the last 16 years he has been involved with establishing and growing mobile operators in the USA, Europe and Asia for British Telecom. He was a director of Airtel Mobile in Spain and SFR mobile in France and is currently a Director of LG Telecom in Korea. Prior to this he worked in telecommunications manufacturing with Plessey plc, UK Government (The National Economic Development Office), and the oil industry with British Petrole.

Chua Sock Koong is a nominee of Singtel and was appointed as non-executive director of Bharti Airtel in May 2001. Sock Koong joined Singtel in June 1989 as Treasurer. She was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 1999, with responsibility for the Group’s financial functions, including treasury and risk management. In February 2006, she assumed the positions of Group CFO and CEO International, looking after the key drivers of SingTel’s international business.She was appointed Deputy Group CEO in October 2006 and in April 2007, she assumed the position of SingTel Group CEO. Sock Koong holds a 1st Class Honours Degree in Accountancy from the University of Singapore and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst

Mr. Kurt Hellstrom is a graduate from Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with a master?s degree in Electronics. He has also completed Masters of Business Management from Stockholm School of Economics. He is a renowned telecom professional with over 34 years of international work experience, and has recently retired from Ericsson as the Chief Executive Officer after 19 years of employment. He is currently a non-executive member of the Board of Atlas Copco, the Swedish Trade Council, Kineto Wireless, Spirent, Far EasTone Telecommunications and Gemplus.

Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal is an electronics engineer from YMCA Institute of Engineering and has over 28 years of industry experience. He is a member of the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) since 1999. He has been the Chairman of Northern Regional Council of CII for the year 2004-05. He also heads several Educational, Social Development and Welfare Associations.

Syeda has worked in McCann London and also Wasey, Campbell, Ewald and has represented India at international Creative fora and at the U.S &Muslim World Conference at Doha. Syeda is on the board of All India Management Association (AIMA), Welham Girl's School, Dehra Dun, The Indian School, New Delhi, the Aspen India Institute, Rumi Foundation, and the SGF Foundation, Mumbai. Being a writer, she has book publications to her credit: The Making of Advertising (Macmillans) Epiphany (Macmillans), The Positive Side Roli Books) Grace under Pressure (Penguin).
