Big Apple Circus Ltd.

Wendy Siegel is very active in philanthropic circles in New York. She serves as the Chapter President of the Board of New York Jaycees and President Emeritus for Big Apple Circus, Ltd. She graduated from Pennsylvania State and Drexel Universities with degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering. Mrs. Siegel and her husband, Stephen, have been trustees and active supporters of National Jewish for more than a decade. Mr. Siegel was an honoree at the National Jewish Winter's Eve New York Real Estate Industry Dinner in 1992, when the Siegels established the Stephen B. and Wendy Siegel Fund for Pediatric Asthma and Allergy Research, and he has served as a co-chair of the dinner every year since. Mrs. Siegel has contributed countless hours to National Jewish as the creator of ambiance at the dinners. Mrs. Siegel's husband is also on the National Jewish Board of Directors.

John J. Suydam: Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Apollo Investment Corporation (the “Corporation”). Mr. Suydam joined the Corporation in 2006. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Suydam was a partner at O’Melveny & Myers, where he served as head of Mergers & Acquisitions and co-head of the Corporate Department. Prior to that, Mr. Suydam served as Chairman of the law firm O’Sullivan, LLP, which specialized in representing private equity investors. Mr. Suydam serves on the boards of directors of the Big Apple Circus and Quality Distribution. Mr. Suydam received his JD from New York University and graduated magna cum laude with a BA in History from the State University of New York at Albany.

Joel graduated from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1996 and started his career as a professional clown touring with the Blue Unit of the Greatest Show on Earth for three years. He then appeared with the elegant one ring circus, Barnum's Kaleidoscope. Joel has appeared internationally as a clown and variety performer in England, Germany, Scotland, Canada, Mexico and China. In New York, Joel and his wife, Juliet Schaefer-Jeske, currently run their own entertainment business called RED NOSES NEW YORK and have performed in a number of film, television, Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway productions. Joel makes his rounds in over six New York hospitals as Dr. Ya-Don't-Say for Big Apple Circus Clown Care (SM), and teaches in New York schools as supervisor of the Big Apple Circus Beyond the Ring Circus After School Program. Joel is a creator/performer for the physical theater company PARALLEL EXIT and most recently starred Off-Broadway in their live action silent movie THIS WAY THAT WAY. Joel would especially like to thank his lovely wife Juliet for letting him run away with the circus again.

Todd is a Chicago based scenic designer. He is thrilled to be designing the Big Apple Circus, and working with director Steve Smith. Recent regional design projects include: Man From Nebraska, I Never Sang for My Father, Intimate Apparel, Last of the Boys, and The Unmentionables for the Steppenwolf Theatre; Our Lady of 121st Street for the Alley Theatre; Play About the Baby, The Story, Romance, The Clean House (After Dark Award) and A Christmas Carol for the Goodman Theatre; A Month in the Country, A Flea in Her Ear, The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia? for the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre; The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia? and Take Me Out (nominated for a 2005 Barrymore Award) for the Philadelphia Theatre Company; The Guardsman, with Hungarian director Laszlo Marton, for the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta; Drawer Boy for the Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey, and Red Light Winter at the Barrow Street Theatre in New York City. Current projects include: Translations for Milwaukee Rep, Betrayal and August: Osage County for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Death and the Maiden for Centerstage in Baltimore, and False Creeds for the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Mr. Rosenthal teaches design at Northwestern University, and is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.

Mr. Walker serves as Executive Director of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission and Secretary to the Executive Committee. He brings to the Commission a broad background in local and regional land use, transportation and environmental planning, along with experience as a two-term appointed member of his local planning commission, and election to the 2006-2007 Virginia Assocation of Planning District Commission (VAPDC) Board of Directors. A member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and a number of area boards and committees, Mr. Walker holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University, and a Master's in Urban & Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia.
