BioFuel Energy Corp.

Scott Pearce is the Chief Executive Officer and a co-founder of BioFuel Energy. He previously served as President and CEO of Poseidon Resources Corporation, a leader in partnering with energy companies to build and operate water and environmental systems for large industrial and government clients. Prior to that, Mr. Pearce served in various leadership positions in the US Army, including attack Helicopter Pilot and Troop Commander, and attained the rank of captain. He holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a BS of Engineering from Auburn University.

Daniel J. Simon is a cofounder and has been our Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since inception. Between 1999 and 2005, Mr. Simon served as the Vice President of International Development for TIC Holdings and as founder and President of TIC’s Renewable Energy Development Corporation subsidiary. In 2005, Mr. Simon co-founded Bio Fuel Solutions Colorado and Bio Fuel Solutions Delaware, the predecessors of BioFuel Energy, LLC. and BioFuel Energy Corp. From 2004-2007, Mr. Simon was also the majority owner and served as Chairman of Calpac Lasers, Inc., a small laser manufacturing company. From 1994 to 1999 Mr. Simon served in various roles for NCH Corporation, at the time a NYSE listed company, where he founded and operated a portfolio of 11 manufacturing, distribution, and sales businesses primarily targeting the energy and water management markets in the USA and Asia Pacific regions. Mr. Simon received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Colorado.

Mr. Edelman founded Patina and served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from its formation in 1996 until its May 2005 merger with the Company. He co-founded Snyder Oil Corporation and was its President from 1981 through 1997. From 1980 to 1981, he was with The First Boston Corporation and, from 1975 through 1980, with Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb Incorporated. Mr. Edelman serves as Chairman of Bear Cub Investments LLC, President of Lenox Hill Neighborhood House and Trustee and Chair of the Development Committee of The Hotchkiss School. He joined our Board upon completion of our merger with Patina on May 16, 2005.

David Einhorn has been a director since July 2004 and Chairman of the Board since August 6, 2004. Mr. Einhorn is president of Greenlight Capital, Inc. which he co-founded in January 1996, and senior managing member of DME Advisors. Greenlight Capital, Inc. and DME Advisors are our affiliates. Mr. Einhorn graduated summa cum laude with distinction from Cornell University in 1991 where he earned a BA from the College of Arts and Sciences.
