Black Hills Corp. announced today the appointment of Anthony S. Cleberg as executive vice president and chief financial officer effective July 16, 2008. Cleberg is a former executive vice president and chief financial officer of two publicly traded companies: Washington Group, International, a large engineering and construction company involved in power plant construction and mining operations, and Champion Enterprises, one of the largest builders of factory-built housing. Before his CFO roles, Cleberg spent 15 years in various senior financial positions with Honeywell and eight years in public accounting at Deloitte & Touche. Since 2002, he has been an independent investor, developer and consultant with companies in Colorado and Wyoming. In addition, Cleberg is on the board of directors of CNA Surety, where he is the audit committee chairman and a member of the compensation committee. Cleberg grew up near Redfield, S.D., and graduated from the University of South Dakota, where he now serves on the board of trustees. He also completed the advanced management program at Harvard University and is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant.

Black Hills Corporation today announced that Garner M. Anderson, Vice President–Treasurer, has taken on the additional role of Chief Risk Officer of the Company. Mr. Anderson is an eighteen-year veteran of Black Hills Corporation. During his tenure, he has advanced through numerous positions of responsibility and authority, including internal audit, pension administration, risk management, insurance, financial management, and supervision of debt offerings and credit facilities. As Treasurer and Chief Risk Officer, Anderson oversees corporate enterprise risk assessment and mitigation, including both financial and operational aspects. Anderson holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota and an M.B.A. in Finance from Arizona State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Anderson replaces Russell L. Cohen, who left the Company. Black Hills Corporation is a diversified energy company. RAPID CITY, S.D., July 11, 2008 — Black Hills Corp. (NYSE:BKH) announced today the appointment of Scott Buchholz as senior vice president - chief information officer and Lynn Wilson as senior vice president - communications and investor relations. Both will begin their new roles at the close of Black Hills’ acquisition of Aquila’s natural gas and electric utility properties in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. Before coming to Black Hills, Buchholz was Aquila Inc.’s vice president of information technology and had been with Aquila for 28 years. Along with other information technology roles, he has been trained as a Six Sigma black belt. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bellevue University and has an M.B.A. from Rockhurst University. His responsibilities for Black Hills include business applications, hardware/software infrastructure, information technology operations, information security, voice/data communications and data base management.

RAPID CITY, S.D., January 5, 2009 — Black Hills Corp. (NYSE: BKH) today announced the selection of Robert A. Myers for the position of senior vice president of human resources effective immediately. Myers has been serving as the company’s interim human resources executive since June 2008. Myers has been a partner with the human resources consulting firm Strategic Talent Solutions and has been supporting Black Hills with the Aquila integration efforts for nearly 20 months. He has served in key human resources leadership roles during his 28 years of experience with organizations such as PepsiCo, Target Corporation, Limitedbrands Inc., BankBoston, Metromedia, Reebok International and Devon Energy. During the course of his career, he has served as the chief human resources officer for three different companies, including two Fortune 250 organizations. Myers earned a bachelor of science degree, magna cum laude in psychology, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a masters degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Nebraska.

RAPID CITY, S.D., November 4, 2008 — Black Hills Corp. (NYSE: BKH) today announced the promotion of Jeff Berzina to the position of vice president of finance effective immediately. Berzina is a University of South Dakota graduate and a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining the company in 2000, he worked for six years in public accounting with Ketel Thorstenson in Rapid City.

RAPID CITY, S.D., September 25, 2008 — Black Hills Corp. (NYSE: BKH) today announced the promotion of Richard W. Kinzley to the position of vice president, strategic planning and development effective immediately. Kinzley replaces Maurice T. Klefeker, who resigned in August to pursue other interests. Kinzley is a University of South Dakota graduate and a certified public accountant. Prior to joining the company in 1999, he worked for nine years in public accounting with KPMG in Omaha, Neb., and Ketel Thorstenson in Rapid City and spent two years with Sodak Gaming in Rapid City.

Kim Benning has been a Hill City resident and business owner since 1990. He joined the staff of Central Hills Real Estate at its inception in 1996 and became Owner/Broker in 2002. Kim was born and raised in South Dakota. He graduated from high school and received two college degrees from South Dakota schools. Kim has been involved in all aspects of real estate listing and sales in the area.

Black Hills Corp. (NYSE:BKH) today announced the appointment of Jason Ketchum as director of investor relations. Before coming to Black Hills, Ketchum was Aquila Inc.’s manager of investor relations, and during his six years at Aquila, he held various positions within the energy marketing and corporate divisions including senior manager of e-business, weather risk management business development manager and senior issues strategist analyst in the office of the chief executive officer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Missouri and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Phoenix. In his investor relations role at Black Hills Corp., Ketchum will be responsible for interactions with market analysts, investors and other financial stakeholders. He will begin his new role at the close of Black Hills’ acquisition of Aquila’s natural gas and electric utility properties in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. He will report to Lynn Wilson, senior vice president of communications and investor relations, who will also assume her new role at the close of the Aquila transaction.

Patty has lived in South Dakota all of her life. She graduated from Mitchell Senior High and went to college at Northern in Aberdeen. Patty Haiar has been in the real esate business since 1992 when she obtained her salesperson's license. She worked for an office in Mitchell under another broker until 2000 when she received her broker's license and opened her own office in Mitchell. Now starts a new chapter in her real estate adventure here in Hill City, SD. Real estate is her passion and she is looking forward to serving many clients in the Black Hills market.

David C. Ebertz, age 63, is President of Dave Ebertz Risk Management Consulting, a firm specializing in insurance and risk management services for schools and public entities, since 2000. He has previous experience in the insurance industry. Mr. Ebertz has served on our Board of Directors since 1998.

Gary L. Pechota, age 59, is President and Chief Executive Officer of DT-TRAK Consulting, Inc., a medical billing services company, since December 2007. He was retired from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that he was Former Chief of Staff of the National Indian Gaming Commission from 2003 to 2005. He was a private investor and consultant from 2001 until 2003. Prior to that, he held executive positions in the cement industry and positions in finance and accounting. Mr. Pechota was elected to the Board of Directors in 2007.

Jack W. Eugster, age 63, retired, was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Musicland Stores, Inc. from 1980 until his retirement in 2001. He was Non-Executive Chairman of Shopko Stores, Inc. a general merchandise discount store chain from 2001 to 2005. Mr. Eugster was elected to the Board of Directors in 2004 and currently chairs the Compensation Committee.

John B. Vering, age 59, is Managing Director of Lone Mountain Investments, Inc., agricultural and oil and gas investments, since 2002. He co-founded PMT Energy, LLC, a natural gas and exploration company focused on the Appalachia Basin in 2003. Mr. Vering was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005.

John R. Howard, age 68, retired, was President of Industrial Products, Inc., which provided equipment and supplies to the mining and manufacturing industries, from 1992 to 2003 and was Special Projects Manager for Linweld, Inc. Mr. Howard was elected to the Board of Directors in 1977 and currently chairs the Governance Committee.

Kay S. Jorgensen, age 58, is involved in numerous business activities and is Owner and Chief Executive Officer of KSJ Enterprises, LLC, providing marketing and development services since 2006. She was Former Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Jorgensen-Thompson Creative Broadcast Services, Inc., a radio broadcast services company, from 1997 to 2005. She previously served in the South Dakota State Legislature and on various state and local boards and commissions. Ms. Jorgensen has served on the Board of Directors since 1992 and currently serves as Presiding Director.

Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of PolyOne since February 2006. Mr. Newlin served as President - Industrial Sector of Ecolab, Inc., a global developer and marketer of cleaning and sanitizing specialty chemicals, products and services from 2003-2006. Mr. Newlin served as President and a director of Nalco Chemical Company, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals, services and systems, from 1998-2001 and was Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman from 2000-2001. Mr. Newlin serves on the Boards of Directors of Black Hills Corporation and The Valspar Corporation.

Warren L. Robinson, age 58, retired, was Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of MDU Resources Group, Inc., a diversified energy and resources company, from 1992 until his retirement in January 2006. Mr. Robinson was elected to the Board of Directors in 2007.
