Union Carbide Corporation is a chemical and polymers company with over 3,800 employees. In 1920 our researchers developed an economical way to make ethylene from natural gas, giving birth to the modern petrochemicals industry. A significant day in Union Carbidea s recent history was August 4, 1999, when it was announced that Union Carbide would become a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company (a TDCCa ?) as part of a transaction valued at $11.6 billion. This transaction closed on February 6, 2001.
