Ben M. "Bud" Brigham founded Brigham Exploration Company in 1990 and has since served as its President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. As founder and CEO, Mr. Brigham managed Brigham Exploration Company’s rapid growth as a private company from an initial investment of $25,000 in 1990 to its initial public offering in 1997. Since 1997, Brigham Exploration Company has continued to achieve low finding costs while achieving significant growth in reserves, production and cash flow. Previously, Mr. Brigham served for six years as an exploration geophysicist with Rosewood Resources, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. Mr. Brigham began his career in Houston as a seismic data processing geophysicist for Western Geophysical, a provider of 3-D seismic services, after earning his B.S. in Geophysics from the University of Texas. Mr. Brigham is a member of the National Petroleum Council, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the Independent Producers Association of America (IPAA), and the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES).

Eugene B. Shepherd, Jr. has served as Chief Financial Officer since June 2002. Mr. Shepherd has approximately 20 years experience of financial and operational experience in the energy industry. Prior to joining Brigham, Mr. Shepherd served as Integrated Energy Managing Director for the investment banking division of ABN AMRO Bank, where he executed merger and acquisition advisory, capital markets and syndicated loan transactions for energy companies. From 1998 through 2000, Mr. Shepherd served in a similar capacity as an Investment Banking Director for Prudential Securities Incorporated. Prior to joining Prudential Securities Incorporated, Mr. Shepherd served as an Investment Banking Vice President with Stephens Inc. for eight years and with Merrill Lynch Capital Markets for four years. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, Mr. Shepherd worked for over four years as a petroleum engineer for both Amoco Production Company and the Railroad Commission of Texas. He has a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and a MBA, both from the University of Texas at Austin.

A. Lance Langford, joined Brigham as Manager of Operations in 1995 and has served as Vice President -- Operations from January 1997 to March 2001, and as Senior Vice President - Operations since March 2001. From 1987 to 1995, Mr. Langford served in various engineering capacities with Meridian Oil Inc., handling a variety of reservoir, production and drilling responsibilities. Mr. Langford holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.

David T. Brigham, joined us in 1992 and has served as Executive Vice President -- Land and Administration since June 2002. Mr. Brigham served as Senior Vice President -- Land and Administration from March 2001 to June 2002,and Vice President -- Land and Administration from February 1998 to March 2001, and as Vice President -- Land and Legal of the Company from 1994 until February 1998. Mr. Brigham was also the Company's Corporate Secretary from February 1998 until September 2002. From 1987 to 1992, Mr. Brigham was an oil, gas and energy law attorney with Worsham, Forsythe, Sampels & Wooldridge. Before attending law school, Mr. Brigham was a landman for a short period of time for Wagner & Brown Oil and Gas Producers, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. Mr. Brigham holds a B.B.A. in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas and a J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law. Mr. Brigham is the brother of Ben M. Brigham, Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Larson joined Brigham in October 1997 as Gulf Coast Exploration Manager in its Houston office where he co-managed Brigham's expansion into the onshore Gulf Coast province through the initiation and assemblage of 3-D seismic projects and drilling opportunities. In November 1998, Mr. Larson relocated to Brigham's corporate office in Austin where he assumed an expanded role in directing Brigham's exploration activities in the Anadarko Basin, in addition to the further advancement of its Gulf Coast activities. Prior to joining Brigham, Mr. Larson was an explorationist in the Offshore Department of Burlington Resources, a large independent exploration company, where he was responsible for generating exploration and development drilling opportunities. Mr. Larson worked at Burlington for seven years in various roles of increasing responsibility within its exploration department. Prior to Burlington, Mr. Larson spent five years at Exxon as a Production Geologist and Research Scientist. He has a B.S. in Earth Science from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota and a M.S. in Geology from the University of Montana.

Eric E. Sigsbey joined Brigham in April 2007 as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. After a series of mergers and acquisitions led Mr. Sigsbey on a three-year journey of high level land and legal positions with Westport Resources, Kerr-McGee, Anadarko and Lewis Energy. Mr. Sigsbey returned to Austin, Texas where he had previously served for four years as General Counsel, Vice President of Land and Assistant Corporate Secretary for United Resources, LP. Prior to United, Mr. Sigsbey served a short term as General Counsel and Sr. Deputy Commissioner for the Texas General Land Office. Prior to joining the General Land Office in October 1999, Mr. Sigsbey had been part of the in-house legal staff of Atlantic Richfield Company for eight years, where he served as Chief Counsel for ARCO Permian in Midland, Texas for the last four and one-half years. After obtaining his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1988, Mr. Sigsbey practiced with two major Houston law firms before joining ARCO. Prior to law school, he spent approximately seven years doing oil & gas, title examination and real estate work and approximately seven years in the petrochemical operations and safety fields. Mr. Sigsbey received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1984. Mr. Sigsbey is licensed to practice in the State of Texas.

Harold D. Carter, age 69, has served as a Director on our Board and as a consultant to us since 1992. Mr. Carter has more than 45 years experience in the oil and gas industry and has been an independent consultant since 1990. Prior to consulting, Mr. Carter served as Executive Vice President of Pacific Enterprises Oil Company (USA). Before that, Mr. Carter was associated for 20 years with Sabine Corporation, ultimately serving as President and Chief Operating Officer from 1986 to 1989. Mr. Carter consults for Associated Energy Managers, Inc. and is a director of Energy Partners Ltd., with respect to its Energy Income Fund, L.P. and a director of Abraxas Petroleum Corporation, both publicly traded oil and gas companies, and Longview Production Company, a private company. Additionally, he serves as Vice Chairman on the Board of Trustees for the Texas Scottish Right Hospital for Children. Mr. Carter has a B.B.A. in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas and has completed the Program for Management Development at the Harvard University Business School.

Mr. Smith has been associated with Smith International, Inc. and its affiliates and predecessors, a products and services supplier to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, in various capacities since 1965. These roles included Vice President of Customer Relations, Assistant to the President and Vice President of Marketing. Since 1992, Mr. Smith has served as a consultant to Smith International, primarily in Customer Relations and Industry Affairs. Mr Smith is also a director of Harken Energy Corp., a publicly traded oil and gas company. Mr. Smith has a degree in Business Administration from Claremont-McKenna College and a Marketing degree from The University of Southern California.

Dr. Scott W. Tinker, age 48, was appointed to our Board of Directors in December 2007. Dr. Tinker is the Director of the Bureau of Economic Geology at The University of Texas at Austin. Scott is President Elect of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, a member of the National Petroleum Council, and has done two Distinguished Lecture tours for AAPG and one for SPE. Dr. Tinker is the State Geologist of Texas, past President of the Association of American State Geologists, and a Professor in UT's Department of Geological Sciences where he holds the Allday Endowed Chair. Scott is a member of the Executive Committee of the Jackson School of Geosciences. Prior to joining the Bureau in January 2000, Dr. Tinker spent 17 years as a geologist in various capacities in the oil and gas industry. Most recently, Scott was with Marathon Oil's Petroleum Technology Center in Littleton, Colorado, where he built 3-D models of large oil and gas fields. Dr. Tinker holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, a M.S. from the University of Michigan and a B.S. from Trinity University.

Stephen P. Reynolds, age 56, has served as a Director on our Board since 1996. Mr. Reynolds is currently a private investor. Mr. Reynolds served as a special adviser to General Atlantic,Partners, LLC and was associated with General Atlantic or its predecessor entities from April 1980 to 2000. From 1975 to 1980, Mr. Reynolds worked for Peat Marwick Mitchell, an accounting firm that later merged to form KPMG. There, he served as the Supervising Senior Accountant on the auditing staff where he was responsible for auditing businesses of various sizes. Mr. Reynolds holds a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College and a Masters Degree in Accounting from New York University.

Steven A. Webster has served as a director since May 2005. Mr. Webster has been President and Co-Managing Partner of Avista Capital Partners LP, a partnership focusing on private equity investments in energy, media, healthcare and other industries, since June 2005. Since 2000, he has been a consultant to Global Energy Partners, an affiliate of Credit Suisse First Boston LLC, which has specialized in private equity investments in the energy industry. From 2000 to June 2005, he served as Chairman of Global Energy Partners. From 1998 to 1999, he served as President and CEO of R&B Falcon Corporation, a marine contract drilling company. From 1988 through 1997, Mr. Webster was Chairman and CEO of Falcon Drilling Company Inc., a company he founded. Mr. Webster has been a financial intermediary since 1979 and an active investor since 1984 in the energy sector. He currently serves as Chairman of Basic Energy Services, Carrizo, Pinnacle Gas Resources and Solitario Resources He remains a Trust Manager of Camden and is a Director of Encore Bancshares, Frontier Drilling, Geokinetics, Grey Wolf, Laramie Energy, MedServe, Peregrine Oil & Gas and Seacor Holdings.

W. Matt Ralls. Mr. Ralls joined our board of directors on December 2, 2005. Mr. Ralls serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for GlobalSantaFe Corporation, an international contract drilling company, a position he has held since June 2005. Mr. Ralls also serves as a director, Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Governance Committee of the general partner of Enterprise Products Partners L.P., a publicly traded provider of midstream energy services, having been elected director in September 2004. He had previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for GlobalSantaFe. Previously, he was Global Marine Inc. s Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer from January 1999 to November 2001 when Global Marine merged to become GlobalSantaFe. He served as Global Marine s Vice President and Treasurer from 1997 to January 1999. Mr. Ralls served as Vice President of Capital Markets and Corporate Development for The Meridian Resource Corporation, an independent exploration and production company, before joining Global Marine. Prior to joining The Meridian Resource Corporation, Mr. Ralls served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and a director of Kelley Oil Corporation, an independent exploration and production company, from 1990 until 1996. Mr. Ralls spent the first 17 years of his career in commercial banking, mostly at the senior loan management level, with three large Texas banks, including NationsBank in San Antonio, Texas. R. Graham Whaling. Mr. Whaling has served as a director since the date of the Combination. In addition, he has served as a director of Brigham Exploration Company, an independent exploration and production company, since June 2001. Mr. Whaling is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Laredo Energy, LP, a privately owned partnership engaged in the acquisition and development of natural gas reserves in south Texas, and has spent his entire career in the energy industry, as a petroleum engineer, an energy investment banker, a chief financial officer and a chief executive officer of energy companies. Mr. Whaling worked as a petroleum engineer for nine years in the beginning of his career primarily with Ryder Scott Company, an oil and gas consulting firm. Mr. Whaling then spent seven years as an investment banker focusing on the energy industry with Lazard Freres & Co. and Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Whaling then became the Chief Financial Officer for Santa Fe Energy, an independent exploration and production company, where he managed the initial public offering and the spin-off of Santa Fe s western division, Monterey Resources. Mr. Whaling was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Monterey Resources from its inception until it was acquired by Texaco in 1997. From May 1999 to May 2001, Mr. Whaling was a Managing Director with Credit Suisse First Boston s Global Energy Partners, which specializes in private equity investments in energy businesses world-wide. Immediately prior to joining Laredo Energy, LP, Mr. Whaling was Chairman of Michael Petroleum Corporation, an independent exploration and production company that no longer exists. James D. Woods. Mr. Woods has served as a director since June 2001. During the period beginning in 1988 and ending in March 2005, Mr. Woods served as director of Varco at various times. Mr. Woods is the Chairman Emeritus and retired Chief Executive Officer of Baker Hughes Incorporated. Mr. Woods was Chief Executive Officer of Baker Hughes from April 1987, and Chairman from January 1989, in each case until January 1997. Mr. Woods is also a director of National Oilwell Varco, Inc. and ESCO Technologies, an NYSE-listed supplier of engineered filtration precuts to the process, healthcare and
