After obtaining a first class degree in Acccountancy, Barry joined British Airways plc where he held a number of management positions across the company, with his last role being part of the management team that led the $4 billion proposed tie up with American Airlines. During this time he became a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting, obtaining the highest worldwide mark in one of the stage 4 final papers. Barry then moved on to Amersham plc where he held a number of roles including Senior Manager Corporate Governance, leading Amersham through their US Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements. Barry then returned to his home town of Newcastle where he took up the position of Finance Director for the Sage Mid Market Division, before deciding to take a different direction at the beginning of 2005, when he joined his father David as a Financial Adviser at Lowes. He worked alongside him for just over a year, learning about the business, and most importantly the client's needs, and now looks after all of David's clients as well as his own expanding client base.
