Appointed as chief nuclear officer, region 2 in November 2006, having previously acted as head of operations (west) since July 2005. Matt joined British Energy's Hartlepool power station in 1987, having worked in a variety of roles at conventional plants. He assisted with the commissioning of Sizewell B power station, before being appointed as station director in 2003. He holds a masters degree.
Appointed as chief nuclear officer, region 3 in November 2006, having joined British Energy in July 2005 as head of operations (east). Peter acted as head of outage & supply chain from May 2006. He previously served as acting general manager of the nuclear generation business for Eskom, one of the largest integrated electricity generation and supply companies in the world. In 1996 Peter was appointed as station director of Koeberg power station in South Africa. He has been working in various line positions in the nuclear power industry since 1978 and is a former chairman of the International Participants Advisory Committee of the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations (INPO). He was awarded the WANO 2005 Nuclear Excellence Award.
Having been an active environmentalist and member of Friends of the Earth back in the early 1970s, Jeremy was something of a sceptic when he entered the nuclear industry. After graduating from Oxford with a degree in physics, in 1974 he joined The Nuclear Power Group Ltd and worked on the final commissioning of Hinkley Point B. It was this 'hands on' experience which converted him to an advocate of the technology. Jeremy worked in a wide range of central functions before moving into the health and safety department where he played a major role in both the Sizewell B and Hinkley C public inquiries. In 1993 Jeremy established Nuclear Electric's environmental protection and planning department before being appointed British Energy's first health, safety and environment director on its privatisation in 1996, joining the British Energy Generation board in 2001. In 2004 he moved to the new role of environment & nuclear liabilities director.
