Darla is a Manager in Brown Smith Wallace's Tax and Accounting Services Group and has ten years of public accounting experience. In addition to her work in individual, business and not-for-profit taxation, Darla is responsible for supervising and reviewing tax engagements. She also trains and evaluates tax staff. A tax planning specialist, Darla keeps abreast of changes in tax law through a variety of continuing education courses and seminars. She enjoys assisting clients in minimizing their tax obligations and maximizing their assets.

David also provides expertise on various individual, partnership, estate, gift and trust income tax related issues to the tax and accounting services group. Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, David served as a Tax Manager and Director of Estate and Trust Services at MPP&W, P.C. In addition to his consulting and compliance responsibilities he also was primarily responsible for all aspects of providing services to a prominent St. Louis family office. David is a licensed certified public accountant and certified senior advisor. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, Estate Planning Council and the Society of Certified Senior Advisors.

Joanne is a manager in Brown Smith Wallace's Insurance Group and has six years of experience in the insurance and tax industry.

Kurt is a Manager in Brown Smith Wallace's Risk Services practice, where he has responsibility for providing risk management and internal audit services to the firm's clients. Kurt recently joined Brown Smith Wallace after spending four years as a Corporate Manager, Technology and Information Technology Audit for SBC Communications.

Twila's approach to client service allows her to forge solid, mutually respectful relationships with clients, ultimately increasing the efficiency on both sides of the desk. Prior to joining the Brown Smith Wallace in January of 1999, Twila spent three years as an executive assistant at Capital for Business while attending school at night to earn her undergraduate accounting degree. Aptly prepared by this experience for the pressures of public accounting, once at the firm she hit the ground running. She has consistently increased her responsibilities within the firm and is currently our internal expert on numerous software programs. She participates in on-campus recruiting programs and continually meets with clients to evaluate Brown Smith Wallace's performance. Twila is a December 1998 graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy. She is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Alan is a principal in Brown Smith Wallace's Tax and Accounting Services Group, where he specializes in the taxation of insurance companies. Alan has 12 years of tax experience, working closely with insurance companies for 10 years. Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Alan was a senior manager with a national accounting firm. He is responsible for serving insurers writing fidelity, personal and commercial lines, reinsurance and medical and other professional malpractice coverage as well as life insurance. His areas of specialty include consulting and compliance tax services, review of complex GAAP and statutory accounting tax provisions and dealing with the Internal Revenue Service on both a local and national level. He also regularly consults with insurance companies in tax planning and minimization, represents clients on tax issues before the Internal Revenue Service and state and local authorities and led the tax outsourcing engagement for a large health insurance company. Alan, a licensed CPA and attorney, graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law.

Tony is one of two Members-in-Charge of Brown Smith Wallace's Audit Group. He is active in all internal committee's which oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm's professional and administrative staff. Seasoned with more than 15 years' experience, Tony has a strong background in cash flow management, family tax and succession planning project management, staff development and management consulting.He works closely with privately held clients in the construction, manufacturing, distribution, service, technology and financial services industries.

Chris is a Member of Brown Smith Wallace and is the director of business development. He is responsible for expanding market awareness of Brown Smith Wallace services and the value proposition provided to its clients. His focus is primarily with publicly traded and privately held middle market companies with revenues from $100 million to $3 billion.

Frank is a Member in the St. Charles office of Brown Smith Wallace. He joined Brown Smith Wallace through the merger of his previous firm, Megargel Willbrand & Co., in September of 2002. He had practiced in his own firm for more than 25 years and with a national CPA firm prior to that.

Jay is a Principal in Brown Smith Wallace's Risk Services practice, where he has responsibility for providing risk management and internal audit services to the firm's clients. Jay joined Brown Smith Wallace after spending five years as a Corporate Manager, Information Technology Audit for SBC Communications. Prior to SBC, Jay spent over four years as a senior internal auditor and regional controller for a financial institution and a restaurant management company.

Jeff is a Principal in Brown Smith Wallace's Consulting Group. He is the managing consultant and is responsible for IT strategic consulting and software research and evaluation.

Les continually monitors current developments in taxation and personal financial planning so he can develop innovative tax planning strategies for our individual and business clients. As a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, Les has served on various committees and is a past chairman of both the State Taxation Committee and the Mid-America Tax Conference. He has also served on the Advisory Board on Taxation for the Missouri Director of Revenue. He has spoken before numerous business and professional groups. On the national level, Les is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is active in its Federal Tax and Personal Financial Planning divisions. He is a past member of the AICPA's Small Business Taxation Committee. Les obtained both his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. He is certified by the AICPA as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) and keeps current with all his specialties by attending a wide variety of continuing professional education courses.

Roy, a Member of Brown Smith Wallace, is responsible for maintaining quality control, monitoring current tax developments and maintaining systems to ensure that clients receive accurate, timely tax service.

Ted is a Member and co-leads Brown Smith Wallace's Risk Services Practice. He is responsible for leading engagements that help clients manage business risk, improve processes and internal controls and comply with the provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Prior to joining Brown Smith Wallace, Ted spent more than 13 years at KPMG LLP where he was responsible for leading audit and advisory service engagements.
