"Richard J. Hipple, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Brush Engineered Materials Inc. In May 2006, Mr. Hipple was named Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Brush Engineered Materials Inc. He has served as President since May 2005. He was Chief Operating Officer from May 2005 until May 2006. Mr. Hipple was President of Alloy Products from May 2002 until May 2005. He joined the Company in July 2001 as Vice President of Strip Products and served in that position until May 2002. Prior to joining Brush Engineered Materials, Mr. Hipple was President of LTV Steel Company, a business unit of The LTV Corporation, an integrated steel producer and metal fabricator. Mr. Hipple has served on the Board of Directors of Ferro Corporation since June of 2007. Mr. Hipple is 56 years old."

Charles F. Brush is a graduate of Yale, Class of 1945 and the holder of a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University. In 1986 he climbed 22,057' Llullaillaco Mountain in South America to investigate the highest known archeological site 100' below the summit. He tested a one-man, untethered submersible to a depth of 1,117'. Between 1982 and 1988 he led five Andean High Altitude Expeditions which collected theretofore unknown species, chemically processed on-site samples of water from the world's highest lake in the crater of Volcano Lincancabur for later isotope analysis, and established the world altitude record (19,300') for SCUBA diving in that lake. Earlier, he directed archeological surveys in Mexico which uncovered evidence of a deliberate alloying of bronze and the earliest carbon 14 dated ceramics there. At various times in his career he was a Curatorial Associate at the Peabody Museum at Yale University, a Research Associate at the University of South Carolina and a Field Associate of the American Museum of Natural History. He was from 1984 to 1990 a member of the Yale University Council and chaired the Council's committee on the Peabody Museum. From 1981 to 1987 he was a member of the Sierra Club Foundation Board of Directors, and Councilor of the American Geographical Society from 1969- 2004. He was President of The Explorers Club from 1978-1981. While Club President, he more than quadrupled public service grants, established the mortgage retirement fund, and substantially increased corporate membership. The proudest accomplishment of his Presidency was the admission of women for the first time to the Club. He is a Life Member of the American Alpine Club, past Director of the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Corporate Director of Deep Ocean Technology. He is currently an Emeritus Director of Brush Engineered Materials, having served on the Board until 2004.

"Albert C. Bersticker, Retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ferro Corporation (Paint, varnishes, lacquers, enamels and allied products). Mr. Bersticker had served as Non-executive Chairman of Oglebay Norton Company (Mining, processing and distributing limestone, lime and industrial sand) from May 2003 until January 2005. Mr. Bersticker was Chairman of Ferro Corporation from February 1996 and retired in 1999. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Ferro Corporation from 1991 until January of 1999 and as President from 1988 until February 1996. He also had served as Secretary, Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson, Wyoming until January 2005. Mr. Bersticker is 74 years old and has been a director of Brush Engineered Materials since 1993."

Mr. Shular was elected Chairman of the Board in February 2007. In January 2003, Mr. Shular became Chief Executive Officer and a Director in 2003 and has served as President since May 2002. From May 2002 through December 2002, Mr. Shular also served as Chief Operating Officer. From August 2001 to December 2002, Mr. Shular served as Executive Vice President of our former Graphite Power Systems Division. Mr. Shular served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from January 1999, with the additional duties of Executive Vice President, Electrode Sales and Marketing, from February 2000. From 1976 through 1998, Mr. Shular held various financial, production and business management positions at GrafTech.

John Sherwin, Jr. , President, Mid-Continent Ventures, Inc. (Venture capital company). Mr. Sherwin has been President of Mid-Continent Ventures, Inc. during the past five years. Mr. Sherwin is a director of John Carroll University, an executive in residence at Lakeland Community College, an advisor to Shorebank Cleveland and a trustee of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Mr. Sherwin is 70 years old and has been a director of Brush Engineered Materials since 1981 and the Lead Director since 2005.

Mr. Khilnani is Chairman of the Board of Directors, President, and Chief Executive Officer of CTS Corporation. He was appointed Chairman in May 2009. He was elected President and appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2007. Prior to his service as President and CEO, from May 2001 until July 2007, Mr. Khilnani served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CTS Corporation. Mr. Khilnani received his Masters degree in economics from Delhi University in 1973 and his MBA in Finance from the University of New York in 1977. He holds CPA and CMA certifications. Mr. Khilnani has over 30 years of leadership experience in finance, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and operating roles based in the USA and Europe, including 18 years at Cummins, Inc. Mr. Khilnani also serves as a Director, member of the Nominating and Governance Committee, and member of the Compensation Committee for Brush Engineered Materials, Inc. In addition to his service as Chairman, Mr. Khilnani is also a member of the CTS Finance and Strategic Initiatives Committee.

"William G. Pryor, Retired President, Van Dorn Demag Corporation, Former President and Chief Executive Officer, Van Dorn Corporation (Plastic injection molding equipment). Mr. Pryor was President of Van Dorn Demag Corporation from 1993 and retired in 2002. He had also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Van Dorn Corporation, predecessor to Van Dorn Demag Corporation. Mr. Pryor served on the Board of Directors of Oglebay Norton Company from 1997 until January 2005. Mr. Pryor is 69 years old and has been a director of Brush Engineered Materials since 2003."
