The Bunker's chief script supervisor, Carmen Tomkin-Socorro has traveled a circuitous route to film production. Born in Havana, Cuba to parents of Italian and British ancestry, her family moved to Spain when she was just four years old, living there for two years before moving to Miami and making the United States their permanent home. After high school, Carmen attended college and earned a degree in radiographic science. The training she received enabled her to work at a major hospital providing her with valuable experience in the health care field. Carmen continued her education earning a second degree in mass communications, while also studying in California, where she became a script supervisor. She has continued in the field, working on numerous television commercials and feature films in Florida. Carmen has written several screenplays in different genres including action adventure, romantic comedy and science fiction. Besides writing, Carmen enjoys concerts, plays, photography, horseback riding, and sports. She loves to travel, and enjoys learning about different cultures and their customs. She has seen some breath-taking places, such as Switzerland, and has visited some intriguing spots, like the pyramids in Mexico. Her favorite place though, happens to be right here at home, in the USA. She enjoys Country Music and travels to Tennessee often. She really enjoys going to the Grand Ole Opry and to the small intimate spots that showcase new talent in and around Nashville. Some of her friends find that amusing and call her "the Cuban redneck." Her dreams are taking her life in a new direction. Her goals are to write and produce. Her hope is that someday she can look back and feel a sense of accomplishment in that.
