As chairman and chief executive officer of City National Bank, Russell Goldsmith leads a financial institution of $16.5 billion in total assets. Additionally, he serves as president and chief executive officer of its publicly held parent company, City National Corporation, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (CYN). He has been a director of both the bank and its parent company since 1978.
Since Mr. Goldsmith became CEO in October 1995, City National’s assets and earnings have increased nearly 400 percent. It now has 62 banking offices, including 15 full-service regional centers, in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Nevada and New York City. Additionally, the company and its eight majority-owned investment affiliates manage or administer $47.5 billion in client assets, including nearly $31 billion under direct management.
Mr. Goldsmith serves on the Federal Reserve Board’s 12-member Federal Advisory Council, representing the Twelfth Federal Reserve District.
He recently completed serving as the chairman of the Los Angeles Economy & Jobs Committee, which was formed by Mayor Villaraigosa, and completed its work by delivering 100 recommendations to improve the economy and grow jobs in the City of Los Angeles.
Mr. Goldsmith now chairs the Los Angeles Coalition for the Economy and Jobs, a new independent organization with leading economic stakeholders representing business, labor, higher education and the non-profit sectors.
He also serves on the boards of directors of Wynn Resorts, Limited, the Financial Services Roundtable and the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles. He is a trustee of the Harvard-Westlake School and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
In 2002, in its annual survey of CEO pay and performance, Forbes magazine ranked Mr. Goldsmith among the 10 best chief executive officers in America.
From 1986 until its sale in 1994, Mr. Goldsmith was chairman of the board and chief executive officer of publicly-held Republic Pictures Corporation, a leading global independent entertainment production and distribution company. He also was vice chairman of the San Diego Padres Baseball Club from 1990 to 1994. He previously served as chief operating officer and a director of Lorimar, Inc., a public entertainment company, from 1983 through 1985.
Mr. Goldsmith began his professional career as an attorney, practicing at Irell & Manella, and later co-founded his own law firm, Sanders, Barnet & Goldsmith.
He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

Brian Fitzmaurice is executive vice president and chief credit officer of City National Bank, and oversees credit policy, administration and special assets. He also is a member of the bank's Executive Committee.
Mr. Fitzmaurice has more than 20 years of credit and risk management experience, and he has worked in California for more than half of that time.
He joined City National in February 2006 from Citibank in Southern California. There, he was a senior risk manager, responsible for Citibank’s middle-market credit risk management in California and throughout the nation. Prior to that, he was chief credit officer of commercial banking for four years at California Federal Bank. Cal Fed was purchased by Citigroup in 2002.
In 1991, Mr. Fitzmaurice went to work for Michigan National Bank (a subsidiary of National Australia Bank). He held various business line and credit positions prior to serving as head of credit bureau (the equivalent of chief credit officer) from 1996 to 1998.
From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Fitzmaurice held various management-level credit positions with Citicorp, Merabank FSB and Westinghouse Credit Corporation.
Mr. Fitzmaurice began his career as a relationship manager for Bank of America in Concord, Calif., where he worked from 1983 to 1985.

John Beale is executive vice president and chief information officer at City National Bank, where he manages the company’s Information Services and Call Center divisions. He also is a member of City National’s Executive Committee and chair of the Information Technology Steering Committee and Capital Investment Committee.
During his tenure at the bank, Mr. Beale has spearheaded the evolution of the bank’s technology, eCommerce, call center, information security and business continuity capabilities, making City National an industry leader.
Before joining the bank, Mr. Beale was executive vice president and principal with CAST Management Consultants, and was responsible for the international consulting firm’s information technology practice. Mr. Beale is a patron of the Artists for the Arts Foundation. He currently works with numerous other community groups, and previously served on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southern California. In addition, he is one of the principal authors of a book entitled “IT Roadmaps for Success,” published by Aspatore Books, and published “Changing Behavior Through IT” on Executive Blueprints.
Mr. Beale currently serves on the Governing Body for the Southern California CIO Executive Summit. He is a former member of the editorial advisory board for Bank Technology News, and a current member of the Banking Services Roundtable. He also has been elected to the “Who’s Who of Worldwide Business Leaders.”

John Pedersen is executive vice president and senior risk management officer of City National Bank and its parent company, City National Corporation.
In this position, Mr. Pedersen oversees the company’s risk management division, which includes the functions of enterprise-wide risk management (ERM), internal audit and credit risk review. Mr. Pedersen chairs the company’s Risk Council, an advisory body to staff and management that helps assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the corporation’s risk management policies and procedures. As a member of City National’s Executive Committee, he advises senior management on risk management issues and serves as the company’s primary liaison with federal banking regulators.
Mr. Pedersen joined City National in 2004 as its chief credit risk review officer, bringing with him more than two decades of banking and regulatory experience.
Mr. Pedersen began his professional career as a regulator. His regulatory experience included examiner and management positions with the Internal Revenue Service, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Office of Thrift Supervision. In 1990, Mr. Pedersen moved to the commercial banking sector, where he worked in various capacities for several financial institutions, including First Interstate Bancorp and KeyCorp. Mr. Pedersen came to City National Bank from Wachovia Bank, where he was responsible for risk management, special assets, portfolio management and credit risk review as the chief risk officer for Wachovia Small Business Capital.
Active in the community, Mr. Pedersen serves on the board of the Downtown Ketchum YMCA of Greater Los Angeles. Additionally, he is involved with various philanthropic organizations that facilitate the micro-financing of small business entrepreneurs in developing countries.

Kevin Dunigan is executive vice president and head of City National Bank’s Core Banking Division, which consists of the bank’s branch offices as well as the Business Banking group. He is responsible for the strategic direction, business development and client service for the bank’s Small Business and Preferred Banking lines of business. Mr. Dunigan leads a team of more than 500 colleagues, which also includes the Government Lending and the Community Reinvestment divisions. Mr. Dunigan, who joined the company in June 1999, also is a member of the bank’s Executive Committee.
He also serves as Regional Executive for Orange County. In that capacity, he is responsible for coordinating the bank’s regional client service, business development, marketing, and expansion efforts.
Before joining City National, Mr. Dunigan was director of retail banking at H.F. Ahmanson & Company, managing Home Savings of America’s Southern California branch franchise. During his tenure there, Mr. Dunigan also served as assistant to the chairman, Charles Rinehart, and as director of retail marketing.
Before that, Mr. Dunigan was chief marketing officer for HomeFed Bank in San Diego, and was responsible for product management, consumer research, advertising, and public and investor relations.
Mr. Dunigan also worked for Carnation/Nestle for six years, and in his role as group product manager ran national brands such as Coffeemate, Carnation Hot Cocoa Mix and Friskies Buffet in the beverage and pet food categories. He began his professional career with Continental Bank in Chicago, holding management positions in the commercial banking and marketing divisions.
Active in the community, Mr. Dunigan serves on the board of the California Science Center in Los Angeles. He also is very involved in youth development through his various leadership positions in the Orange County area.
Mr. Dunigan earned an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota.

Mr. Cahill is a member of the California and Washington state bar associations, and is active in supporting fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and serves on their Los Angeles chapter board. Richard Gershen is executive vice president of City National Bank’s Wealth Management Division, leading the bank’s efforts to be the primary source of wealth advice and investment solutions for clients.
Mr. Gershen, who joined the bank in February 2009, has more than 30 years of experience in asset management and financial services. He is responsible for City National Asset Management and City National Securities, Inc., the company’s broker-dealer subsidiary, as well as the bank’s personal trust and business trust services and its eight majority-owned asset management affiliates. He leads a team of approximately 500 colleagues.
Prior to joining City National, Mr. Gershen was executive managing director, business management and strategy, with Evergreen Investments, a division of Wachovia. Mr. Gershen was a member of Evergreen’s executive committee and chair of the division’s risk management committee. During his nine year tenure at Evergreen Mr. Gershen was responsible for risk management, product management, strategy and acquisitions and high-net-worth customized portfolio management.
Prior to joining Evergreen, Mr. Gershen served for five years as chief operating officer of Banc America Capital Management in Charlotte, N.C. From 1987 to 1995, Mr. Gershen was a fixed income portfolio manager and chief financial officer for Shields Asset Management in New York. Prior to joining Shields, he was a controller at Meg Asset Management in New York from 1981 to 1987 and before that, was an auditor at Ernst & Young from 1977 to 1980.

Bram Goldsmith is chairman and a director of City National Corporation and a director of its wholly owned subsidiary, City National Bank. He has played a key role in the corporation and the bank since 1964, when he was first elected to the bank’s board of directors.
From 1975 to 1995, Mr. Goldsmith served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of City National Bank and City National Corporation, leading the company’s evolution into California’s Premier Private and Business Bank. He also spearheaded the bank’s expansion into San Diego and Ventura counties. Under Mr. Goldsmith’s leadership, the company’s assets rose from $600 million to $3.3 billion. City National Corporation now has assets of $16.5 billion and operates 62 offices in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City and Nevada.
Before joining City National, Mr. Goldsmith served for 25 years as president and chief executive officer of Buckeye Realty and Management Corporation, at the time the largest privately owned commercial real estate development company in Southern California. He also was chairman of Buckeye Construction Company.
In 1942, after attending the University of Illinois, where he studied finance and business administration, Mr. Goldsmith joined the Army Air Corps and served for 3½ years. He spent 18 months on duty in Burma.
Mr. Goldsmith always has been active in civic and philanthropic affairs. He served as president of the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles in 1969 and 1970, and chaired the 1965 Los Angeles United Jewish Fund Campaign. He also was a national chairman of the United Jewish Appeal from 1970 to 1974 and continues to serve as a life trustee. Mr. Goldsmith was a board member of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 1979 to 1999 and is a lifetime trustee. He served as president of Hillcrest Country Club from 1972 to 1975 and has been a board member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association since 1977. He also was a board member of the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco from 1981 to 1987.
Mr. Goldsmith is a former board member and Los Angeles chairman of the National Conference of Christians and Jews. He also is a former chairman of the board of Region IV of the United Way and a member of its Central Board. He currently chairs the Wallis Annenberg Cultural Center Foundation, which is raising funds to renovate the old Beverly Hills Post Office and convert it to a 500-seat theatre while retaining its existing exterior.
Mr. Goldsmith is a former chairman of American Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science and former deputy chairman of the institute’s International Board of Governors. He continues to serve on the organization’s board of directors.

Regarded as one of today’s most innovative television business executives, Bruce Rosenblum has headed the Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) since 1999, and currently serves as its president with oversight of and a broad mandate to grow Warner Bros.’ entire portfolio of television businesses, including worldwide production, distribution and broadcasting.
Under Mr. Rosenblum’s guidance, WBTVG is rapidly developing new business models for the evolving television landscape, including video-on-demand, broadband, wireless and home video exploitation of its vast library. WBTVG has digital distribution agreements in place with ABC, CBS and NBC (representing an industry first for a major studio with unaffiliated networks), and in September 2006 formed Studio 2.0, a new advertiser-aligned, digital production venture.
Mr. Rosenblum also oversees the studio’s broadcasting interests. He was a driving force behind the creation and launch of both The WB (1995) and The CW Television Network, launched (in partnership with CBS) in September 2006 with quality, diverse programming targeted to the 18-34 audience.
Prior to his current post, Mr. Rosenblum served as executive vice president of television at the studio for six years. He came to Warner Bros. as part of Warner Communications’ 1989 acquisition of Lorimar Telepictures as vice president, business affairs. He joined Lorimar in 1986 from Dern, Mason & Floum (now Del, Shaw, Moonves, Tanaka & Finkelstein), where he began his career as an entertainment attorney in 1982.
He holds a juris doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.
George Benter is vice chairman of City National Bank and a member of its Executive Committee, focusing on key client retention, business development, community relations and colleague development.
In January 2009, he was named Los Angeles Regional Executive and assumed additional responsibility for coordinating the bank’s client service, business development, marketing, and expansion efforts throughout greater Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
Prior to being named vice chairman in May 2005, Mr. Benter served for 13 years as City National’s president and chief operating officer, leading the company’s regional banking centers, including its private and commercial banking offices, as well as its core banking, entertainment, real estate, structured finance and human resources divisions.
Mr. Benter is a long-time California banking industry leader. Before joining City National Bank in 1992, he was with Security Pacific National Bank for 27 years. He was named vice chairman in 1989, after spearheading Security Pacific’s commercial, middle-market and real-estate banking activities. He also was the bank’s chief credit officer from 1981 through 1984.
Mr. Benter is a graduate of San Diego State University. He received his master's degree in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
In addition to his duties with City National Bank, Mr. Benter serves on the boards of directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles World Affairs Council and Town Hall Los Angeles. Peter M. Thomas is Managing Partner of the Thomas & Mack Co., a Commercial Real Estate Development Company. Thomas previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Bank of America, Nevada headquartered in Las Vegas. Prior to his appointment to Bank of America Nevada, Thomas had served since 1982 as President and Chief Operating Officer of Valley Bank of Nevada. BankAmerica acquired Valley Capital Corporation, the parent company of Valley Bank, in 1992. A native Nevadan, Thomas received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Utah in 1972 and a Law Degree from Georgetown University's Law Center (Juris Doctor) in 1975. He is currently a member of the Nevada, Utah and District of Columbia Bar Associations.

Ronald L. Olson is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. Mr. Olson has practiced law with the firm since 1968. Mr. Olson also is a director of Berkshire Hathaway, Edison International, City National Corporation, The Washington Post Company, and Western Asset Trusts. He serves as a director of several non-profits, including the RAND Corporation (formerly chair), the Mayo Clinic, the Council of Foreign Relations, Southern California Public Radio (formerly chair), and the California Institute of Technology. He was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Claremont University Center and Graduate School from 1984-94. Mr. Olson’s practice involves a combination of litigation and corporate counseling. He counsels individual executives and boards of directors in a range of matters, including transaction and corporate governance issues. Throughout his career, Mr. Olson has been the lead partner in numerous high-profile matters where clients have looked to the firm for advice and representation. Mr. Olson also has represented AOL Time Warner in securities actions arising from the merger of AOL and Time Warner; Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc. in shareholder class actions and derivative cases arising from financial restatements; and Mattel in a lawsuit over “Barbie Doll” rights. Mr. Olson received his B.S. degree from Drake University in 1963, his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan in 1966, and a Diploma in Law from Oxford University, England, in 1967, at which time he was the recipient of a Ford Foundation fellowship. In 1967, Mr. Olson was an attorney for the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice and in 1968 clerked for Chief Judge David L. Bazelon, United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Mr. Olson was formerly Chairman of the Standing Committee on Federal Judiciary (1991-92), Chairman of the Litigation Section (1981-82), and Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (1976-86) of the American Bar Association, and was Vice President of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of California (1986-87). He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Olson has received a number of awards for public service and pro bono activities.
