C&D knows the ABCs of success. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Blue Bell, PA, C&D Technologies Inc. (NYSE: CHP) creates and markets electrical power storage systems. The company has three core segments: Power Electronics, which handles the distribution of power supplies; Motive Power, which handles the distribution of batteries for industrial vehicles; and Standby Power, which focuses on power reserve systems. Other products sold by the company include acid batteries, power rectifiers, and battery charging equipment. Its products are sold all over the world, including Asia, Mexico, and Europe. The company has revenue of about $497 million and more than 3,065 employees. In April 2006 the company and Celestica agreed to terminate the existing Agreement for Manufacture dated 30 September 2004 by which Celestica manufactured DC/DC and AC/DC power supplies for C&D.

Dr. Wreford joined C&D Technologies in July 2003 as Vice President of Technology and since that time has led the development activities for the power storage businesses. Among Dr. Wreford's accomplishments at C&D has been the development of the highly successful msEndur(TM) product, a revolutionary 2V, 20-year valve regulated lead-acid battery that is gaining rapid acceptance in the wireless and wire-line telecom sectors due to its superior performance and extended reliability.
