Dr. Roehrig is employed at CC Technologies Laboratories, Inc. (CC Technologies) as a Principle Engineer/Scientist. CC Technologies is a corrosion engineering and research company specializing in electrochemical testing, coating evaluation, high-temperature exposure testing, and failure analysis service. At CC Technologies, Dr. Roehrig is primarily concerned with conducting failure analysis project work as well as supporting the rest of the staff in characterization of materials using the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Prior to joining CC Technologies, Dr Roehrig was Vice President at Gelles Laboratories, Inc., (GLI), a materials characterization and R&D organization. Along with his corporate duties at GLI, he was involved in conducting failure analyses, metallurgical consulting and service work involving production problems. These activities involved utilization of the scanning electron microscope with both energy dispersive (EDS) and wavelength dispersive (WDS) X-ray spectroscopy as well as optical metallography. Dr. Roehrig has conducted failure analyses involving automotive manufacturing components, high-pressure hydraulic pumps, power plant component failures, aircraft component failures, and paint adherence problems. Before joining Gelles Laboratories, Dr. Roehrig was on the Senior Technical Staff at the Owens-Corning Fiberglas Technical Center and held the position of Research Associate. While at OCF, he was responsible for developing high-temperature, platinum-based alloys for glass fiberization. This work primarily involved alloy design, microstructural characterization and mechanical property evaluation utilizing the SEM and high-temperature creep testing. During the course of his work at OCF, Dr. Roehrig was able to author or co-author several U.S. patents. Dr. Roehrig s work experience, prior to joining OCF, was with Battelle Columbus Laboratories as a research metallurgist. His work at Battelle centered around powder materials technology such as metallic and non-metallic powder synthesis by novel techniques, investigation into activated sintering of heavy metals, and experimental consolidation of precious metals and titanium-based alloys by the hot-isostatic pressing (HIP) techniques.
