C. R. Bard Inc.

Timothy M. Ring, 50, was named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for C. R. Bard, Inc. on August 8, 2003. He joined Bard in June 1992 as Corporate Vice President - Human Resources and was promoted to Group Vice President - International in December 1993. In November 1995, was given additional responsibility for Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology. In January 1997, he also resumed additional responsibility for the Cardiac Assist and Cardiopulmonary divisions and in April 1997 was promoted to Group President for Coronary Vascular Products. In 1999, he was named Group President for Bard Electrophysiology and Peripheral Vascular Products and in 2002 was given additional responsibility for Bard Access Systems, Bard Europe, and Corporate Healthcare Services. Prior to Bard, he worked for Abbott Laboratories for nearly 10 years, most recently as Director of Personnel for the Hospital Products Division. During 1990, he was General Manager for Abbott's Australian, New Zealand and Indonesian operations, residing in Sydney. From 1987 to 1989, he was Director of Personnel for Pacific/Asia/Africa and Europe. In 1984 to 1986, he was also Director of Personnel for Latin America & South East Asia. He started at Abbott in 1983 as Assistant Personnel Manager for the Pharmaceutical Division. Prior to joining Abbott, Tim was employed by The General Motors Corporation and holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Tim is a trustee for the Foundation of The University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and the HealthCare Insitute of New Jersey, and serves on the Cornell University Life Sciences Advisory Board. Mr. Ring is also a member of the Board of Directors for C.R. Bard, Inc., AdvaMed, the medical device industry association, CIT Group, and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).

John H. Weiland, 51, joined C. R. Bard, Inc. on March 1, 1996. His experience spans over 30 years in the healthcare industry with firms such as Dentsply International, Pharmacia and Baxter Healthcare Corporation. John was named President and Chief Operating Officer of C. R. Bard on August 8, 2003, having worldwide responsibility for all of Bard's business operations. Prior to becoming President and COO, John held the position of Group President of Bard. In this capacity, John had global responsibility for Bard Medical Division, Bard Urological Division, Davol Inc., Bard Endoscopic Technologies Division and Bard's Worldwide Manufacturing Operations. In addition, John also had responsibility for Bard's businesses in Latin America, Mexico, Canada, the Far East and Japan. In 1991, he was named Senior Vice President North America Group for Dentsply International in York, Pennsylvania. This position included general management responsibility for the eleven operating divisions of Dentsply International, the world's leading dental products manufacturer. John graduated from DeSales University with a B.S. degree and earned an M.B.A. degree from New York University. John started his career at Baxter/American Hospital Supply Corporation in 1977 as a sales representative. He rose through numerous managerial positions to become Vice President and General Manager of the Scientific Products Biomedical Division, an 850 million dollar diagnostic division of Baxter. In 1989, he became President and Chief Executive Officer of Pharmacia Diagnostics, a division of Pharmacia AB Upsala Sweden. In this capacity, he had general management responsibility for Pharmacia's three diagnostic businesses. In addition to his professional activities, John is actively involved in civic affairs. In 1987, John was named a White House Fellow and served as a Special Assistant to President Reagan's Cabinet. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Meridian Health System and a Director of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc.

Todd C. Schermerhorn, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of C. R. Bard, Inc. joined the company in 1985 as a financial analyst. He has held a succession of financial management positions including Controller of the Vascular Systems Division, Vice President and Controller of the USCI Division, and Vice President and Group Controller-Cardiology. Before being appointed to his current position in April 2003, he served as Vice President and Treasurer of Bard. He received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Lowell, an MBA from Babson College, and has earned the designation Certified Management Accountant. He serves as a Trustee of Somerset Medicine Center in Somerville, NJ. He is a member of Financial Executives International, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association for Financial Professionals.

In September 2007, Anthony Welters was named president of the Public and Senior Markets Group, which is made up of Ovations and AmeriChoice. He was appointed executive vice president, UnitedHealth Group, in December 2006. Welters had previously been president, chief executive officer and a founder of AmeriChoice, which was acquired by UnitedHealth Group in 2002. Prior to his role with AmeriChoice, Welters held a number of senior positions in the federal government and in private industry.

Gary D. Dolch. PHD joined C. R. Bard, Inc. in September 2008 as Senior Vice President, Quality & Regulatory Affairs. Dr. Dolch came to Bard from Cardinal Health where he was Executive Vice President, Quality, Regulatory, and Operational Excellence since 2002, responsible for Quality, Regulatory and Lean Six Sigma for Cardinal Health World Wide Operations. In positions most immediate to Cardinal Health, Dr. Dolch was Senior Vice President, Quality and Regulatory Affairs for the American Red Cross (2001-2002), and Vice President of Operations (1999-2001) and Quality Assurance (1992-1999) for the Knoll Pharmaceutical Division of BASF. Earlier in his 30 year career in health care, he held leadership positions of increasing responsibility and influence in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs with American Home Products, Genentech Inc. and Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Dolch earned a BS in Chemistry from Ursinus College, an MS in Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University.

Dr. John DeFord was promoted to Senior Vice President, Science, Technology and Clinical Affairs effective June 14, 2007. John joined C.R. Bard, Inc. as Vice President of Science and Technology in late January of 2004. Prior to joining Bard, John was Managing Director of Early Stage Partners, a Midwest Venture Capital Fund. Prior to joining Early Stage Partners, John was President and CEO of Cook Incorporated, a multi-hundred million dollar privately held medical device manufacturer. John is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering. Currently John holds 13 patents and is the author of numerous peer reviewed scientific papers and book chapters.

Brian Kelly joined C. R. Bard, Inc. in 1983 as a territory sales manager for Bard’s subsidiary, Davol Inc. He has held a succession of management positions including Vice President of Sales for Bard Access Systems, and Vice President and General Manager of Davol. Brian served as President of Davol from 1997 until his promotion to Bard’s senior management team as Group Vice President on June 1, 2003. From June 2003 - August 2008, as Group Vice President, Brian’s responsibilities included the operations of Davol, Bard Urological, and Bard Electrophysiology divisions. In November 2008, Brian assumed responsibility for Corporate Healthcare Services. In his current position, Brian has global responsibility for all corporate sales and marketing initiatives. He has responsibility for Bard's Corporate Customer Programs, Corporate National Accounts, Corporate Marketing, and Corporate Reimbursement. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Niagara University.

Bronwen Kelly joined C.R. Bard, Inc. in May 2002 in her current role as Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to joining Bard, she was with American Home Products as Vice President, Human Resources for the Global Agricultural Products Group and held a variety of positions with American Cyanamid Company including Director, Human Resources for the Cyanamid International, Agricultural Products and Shulton USA Divisions. Bronwen attended Bucknell University and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Montclair State University with a degree in English. She is a member of the Board of Advisors to the Center for Human Resource Strategy at Rutgers University and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Christopher D. Ganser has over 20 years experience in the Medical Industry. He joined Bard in 1989 as the Quality Control Manager for the Moncks Corner, South Carolina Latex Operation. In 1991, he was promoted to Manager of Quality Control Operations for the Bard Urological Division ("BUD"). In 1994, after serving as the Director of Quality Assurance for BUD, Chris was promoted to Corporate Vice President, Quality Assurance. He held that position until July 2003 when he was promoted to the position of Vice President, Regulatory Sciences. He is currently Vice President - Quality, Environmental Sciences, and Safety. Chris holds a B.S. in Industrial Technology from California State University, Long Beach with an emphasis in Quality Assurance. He is also an A.S.Q. Certified Quality Engineer.

Frank Lupisella was named Vice President and Controller of C.R. Bard, Inc. in May 2006. Frank joined Bard in 1987 as Cost Accountant for Cormed, Inc., a subsidiary of the MedSystems Division. Over the past 19 years he has progressed through a series of increasingly more responsible financial positions including Cost Analyst for USCI Angiographic Systems Division, Senior Cost Accountant for the Glens Falls Specials Operation, Plant Accounting Manager at the USCI Fitzwilliam plant, Cost and Budget Manager for Bard Ventures Division, Accounting Manager for Bard Interventional Products, Controller for Bard Vascular Systems, Controller for Angiomed, Vice President and Controller for Bard Interventional Products, and Vice President and Controller for Davol. He was promoted to his most recent role of Assistant Corporate Controller, Manufacturing Operations in February 2005. Frank earned his B.A. in Accounting from NiagaraUniversity and his M.B.A. from ClarkUniversity. He is a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Financial Manager.

James M. Howard joined C. R. Bard in 2007 as Vice President, Regulatory Sciences and was named Vice President, Regulatory and Quality Systems Excellence, in September 2008. Jim comes to Bard directly from Bio-Reg Associates, Inc., a firm providing highly technical clinical and regulatory consulting to the medical device industry, where he was President and CEO. Jim has extensive experience in quality assurance, quality audits, complaint handling systems, design and conduct of clinical studies and regulatory strategies and submissions. Prior to joining Bio-Reg, Jim was employed by GE Medical Systems, first as a Radiation Safety Officer and later, as a Regulatory Program Manager. Jim began his career as a Staff Physicist for the United States Air Force. Jim earned a BS in Physics from North Carolina State University and an MS in Nuclear Physics and Radiological Health from North Carolina State University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Jim Beasley joined Bard in 1989 as a Territory Manager for Bard Interventional Products. He was promoted in 1995 to Division Sales Manager and to Director of Sales in 1997, then to Vice President of Sales in 1999. Jim moved to Bard Access Systems as Vice President of Sales in 2000, became Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2001, and was named President of Bard Access Systems in 2003. Jim assumed leadership of Bard Peripheral Vascular in April 2007. Jim was promoted to Group Vice President with responsibility for the Bard Access Systems and Bard Peripheral Vascular divisions in May 2009. Jim earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Midwestern State University in Texas.

Judith A. Reinsdorf joined Bard in 2004 as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining Bard, she was Vice President and Secretary of Tyco International Ltd. since 2003. Before joining Tyco, Ms. Reinsdorf was the Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Pharmacia Corporation from 2000 until it was acquired by Pfizer Inc. in 2003. From 1995 to 2000, Ms. Reinsdorf held the position of Assistant General Counsel and then Chief Legal Counsel, Corporate at Monsanto Company. Ms. Reinsdorf earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Rochester and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School.

Patricia G. Christian joined C. R. Bard, Inc. in December 2008 as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs. Patty comes to Bard from Johnson & Johnson, which she joined in 1997 as Manager, Regulatory Affairs before a promotion to Director, Regulatory Affairs for Independence Technology in 1999. In 2001, she became Director, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs for Vistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, and was promoted to Senior Director in 2003. Most recently, Patty served as Vice President, Worldwide Regulatory Affairs for LifeScan, Inc. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, she spent eight years with Meadox Medical, both before and after its acquisition by Boston Scientific, as well as Ayerst Laboratories, a Division of American Home Products, and held positions of increasing responsibility in Medical Research, Clinical Research, Medical Technical Relations and Regulatory Affairs. Patty began her professional career in nursing at Hackensack Medical Center in New Jersey, where she progressed to Head Nurse of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit very early in her career. Patty earned a BS in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island and became Regulatory Affairs Certified (R.A.C.) by the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society in 1994.

Robert L Mellen, Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development joined the company in 1993. Prior to joining Bard Corporate in his current position in May of 2002, Bob held the position of President, Bard Peripheral Vascular Technologies, based in Covington, Georgia. Prior to that, Bob was Vice President, General Manager, Bard Peripheral Technologies, also in Georgia, and Vice President, Marketing, Bard Access Systems in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before joining Bard in 1993, Bob had been in the medical device industry since 1985. Bob received a BA in biology from Harvard College and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Scott T. Lowry, Vice President and Treasurer of C. R. Bard, Inc. joined the company in 1992 and has held a succession of financial management positions within the treasury organization. He was appointed to his current position in April 2003. Previously, he worked in the treasury functions at AT&T Corporation and Burson-Marsteller. Scott holds a B.S. degree in finance from Villanova University and an MBA from the Stern Business School at New York University. He is a member of Financial Executives International, the Association for Financial Professionals and the New York Treasurers Group.

Sharon M. Alterio joined Bard in 2004 as President of Bard Medical Division. In June 2008, Ms. Alterio was promoted to Group Vice President with responsibility for Bard s international businesses. Prior to joining Bard, Ms. Alterio held positions at Baxter Healthcare including Vice President, Global Therapeutic Marketing for the Renal Division of Baxter Healthcare.

Stephen J. Long was named Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in February 2007. Steve joined Bard in 2000 as Associate General Counsel and since March 2005 has served as Staff Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Commercial Law. Prior to joining Bard, Steve held a succession of positions of increasing responsibility in corporate law with Warner-Lambert Company. Before that, he was an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, securities law and general commercial law. He received his B.S. from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University and received his J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University.

Timothy P. Collins began his career with Raytheon Company as a Manufacturing Engineer in 1984. Two years later, he joined Bard for the first time as a Facilities Planner with the USCI Division. Over his 12-year career with Bard, he held positions of increasing responsibility including Project Industrial Engineer, Systems Analyst, Advanced Engineering Manager, Plant Manager for both Billerica, MA and Glens Falls, NY facilities, and Director of Operations for Diagnostic Cardiology. Concurrent with the sale of Bard's cardiology business, Tim joined Medtronic Vascular in 1998 as Vice President/Business Unit Manager in Medtronic/AVE and was later appointed Vice President, Global Operations, Vascular. In 2003, Tim returned to Bard as President, Bard Electrophysiology Division. In March 2008, he was promoted to Group Vice President with responsibility for Worldwide Operations and assumed additional executive responsibility for Bard Electrophysiology Division in September 2008. Tim received a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts, a BS in Computer Science from Franklin Pierce College, and an MBA from New Hampshire College.

Vincent Gurnari joined C.R. Bard in 1996 as the Vice President of Information Technology. Prior to joining Bard, Vince was the head of Information Services for Cytec Industries. He was employed for 15 years at American Cyanamid Corporation where he held a succession of information technology positions in both the medical and chemical business groups. He began his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Eli Lilly. Vince received a B.S. degree in Biology and an MBA in Accounting both from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a member of the New Jersey Society for Information Management and was a member of The Office of Information Technology Governing Board for the State of New Jersey.

As a National Manager with Bard China, Xuebing Zhou, M.D. plans and implements distribution strategies for the Peripheral Vascular Group and Electrophysiology Group to achieve the financial objectives of the company. Zhou was a gynecologist before working with Bard in 1998 and naturally has a great deal of compassion for patients. This, combined with her abundant knowledge of Bard products, high energy, and contagious positive attitude, makes her a stand out. In particular, Zhou has earned the respect of her peers for her exceptional management skills and understanding of processing systems. In addition, her unwavering devotion to the company and willingness to make herself available even after business hours have also contributed to her stellar reputation. She always takes an active role in guiding her co-workers, offering them her lifetime of wisdom and volunteering to roll up her sleeves and get the job done when additional team support is needed. Zhou has not only made a significant impact on Bard China, but on the community as well. For four years, she has supported the rural Black Mountain Village elementary school by driving six hours from Beijing to donate educational materials, clothes and her own money to disadvantaged students. She makes the experience even more meaningful by encouraging her eleven-year-old daughter to make the trip with her. In everything she does, Zhou takes pride in her work and truly understands the importance of taking ownership qualities that without question deserve the recognition of the Charles Russell Bard Award.

Gail K. Naughton, age 52, has served as a director of Celera since July 2008. Dr. Naughton has been Dean of the College of Business Administration at San Diego State University since August 2002 and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Histogen, Inc., a regenerative medicine company, since June 2007. She was Vice Chairman of Advanced Tissue Sciences, Inc., a company involved in human-based tissue engineering, from March 2002 to October 2002, President from August 2000 to March 2002, President and Chief Operating Officer from 1995 to 2000, and co-founder and director since inception in 1991. She is also a director of C.R. Bard, Inc. and SYS.

Dr. Wason has over twenty five years experience in the regulation and strategic planning of regulatory and clinical research services. Prior to joining MDCI in 2005 he was principal of The Maelor Group, a consulting service for medical device and technology companies. He was the Founder and President of Myles Medical, Inc., a company that markets, designs, develops and manufactures a range of clinical electrotherapy devices. Before that, he was the President of Stimtech Products, Inc., a manufacturer of neuromuscular stimulators, formerly a division of Johnson & Johnson. He has held various senior management positions in the U.S. and in the U.K, with C.R. Bard Cardiosurgery and Johnson & Johnson, Devices, Ltd., and Cambridge Scientific Instruments, Ltd.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Lahey Clinic (a nonprofit, multispeciality health care organization) and a member of its Board of Trustees and Chair of the Board of Governors since September 1999, having been chair of the Department of Urology of Mayo Clinic, vice chair of the Board of Governors, Trustee of the Mayo Foundation and a member of its Executive Committee since 1975; age 67. Dr. Barrett has been a director of C. R. Bard since June 2009 and is a member of the Regulatory Compliance Committee and Science and Technology Committee.

Herbert L. Henkel was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited in May 2000. Also, he retains his previous titles of president and chief executive officer of the company. Henkel came to Ingersoll Rand in April 1999 from Textron, Inc. where he was president and chief operating officer. Previously, he was president of Textron’s Industrial Products segment. Before that, he was group vice president with responsibility for Textron’s industrial segment. From 1987 to 1993, he was president of Greenlee Textron, a maker of tools for wire and cable installation and maintenance. Before joining Textron, Henkel was president and chief operating officer of Southern Fastening Systems and Unifast Industries, Inc. He had previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company and Hilti, Inc. Henkel holds a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering and applied mechanics and a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic University. Also, he holds a master’s degree in business administration and an honorary doctorate degree in commercial science from Pace University. He is a director of C. R. Bard Inc. and 3M Company.
