Cadence Design Systems Inc.

Spencer Clark recently retired as Chief Learning Officer of Cadence Design Systems Inc., the industry leader in the electronic design automation space. In this role he built Cadence University to drive global implementation of technical, professional, executive and leadership development. He was also responsible for implementing an organizational development practice within the Cadence culture and the development and integration of an explicit talent development program into the Cadence succession planning process.

Retained directly by Ray Bingham, then chairman and CEO of Cadence, Devine Capital Partners placed Tim Burch as senior vice president of human resources and organizational development. There he reported directly to Binghamand tapped his extensive hands-on experience in global HR to guide the company's worldwide HR and organizational development teams, including CadenceUniversity. Previously Burch was with Inktomi, where he was vice president of human resources. Before that he was vice president of human resources at Raychem and held various HR leadership roles at General Electric. Burch has a bachelor's degree in sociology from LafayetteCollege. He is currently the senior vice president of human resources at Openwave Systems.

Chi-Ping Hsu. Dr. Hsu was appointed to our board of directors on August 12, 2004. Dr. Hsu is currently a Vice President at Cadence Design Systems in charge of the company s synthesis product lines, which position he has held since April 2003. From November 2001 to April 2003, Dr. Hsu was President and Chief Operating Officer of Get2Chip, a supplier of high-performance system-on-chip synthesis, which was acquired by Cadence. From January 1995 to November 2001, Dr. Hsu was a member of the Executive Staff at Avant! where he was responsible for directing the company s product and business strategy. A graduate of the Taiwan National University with a B.S. in electrical engineering, Dr. Hsu also holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Jack Flug holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University. Currently Jack is the Director of Finance for Cadence Design Systems and he brings to Equity Foundation over 15 years of experience in the financial sector. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, camping, running, and skiing.

Mr. Spence joined CoWare as vice president of worldwide services in August 2006. With more than 25 years experience in consulting services at Cadence Design Systems, Andersen Consulting, and in private practice, Spence is known for driving sales and successful marketing strategies, and for developing sound business practices and processes that increased revenues and profit margins. His experience in many industries gives him a thorough understanding of the fundamental factors required for businesses to perform with excellence. Spence holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. in Corporate Finance from the University of Missouri.

Christian Mahler is our Director of European Operations in Paris, France. Mr. Mahler has 20 years of experience in the electronics industry, including in the areas of semiconductor and electronic design automation . He has held key positions in sales and sales management at ES2/ATMEL and Cadence Design Systems.

Greg Donohue graduated Cum Laude from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He works as a Staff Design Consultant for Cadence Design Systems, Inc., helping customers (such as Cray, Inc.) build chips (integrated circuits) for supercomputers. Greg spends most of his non-work time involved in amateur astronomy and astronomy outreach education in one form or another. He produces, engineers, co-writes, and co-performs "It's Over Your Head". Selected to NASA/JPL's "Solar System Ambassador" team, Greg holds presentations throughout the area to keep the public informed about solar system exploration news and events (view his SSA bio here). Through participation in the "Project AstroBio" program, Greg brings astronomy outreach education to local area classrooms, where the kids know him as the "Galaxy Guy". He has also served on the board of directors of the Seattle Astronomical Society (SAS), and wrote monthly articles for the SAS's "Webfooted Astronomer" newsletter. A past board member of the Seattle Astronomical Society, Greg lives on Whidbey Island (in Washington state's Puget Sound), with his lovely bride of 30 years, Sheryl, and their two terrific teenage sons, Seth and Kyle, of whom he is enormously proud.

Greg Orzech has over 25 years of sales, sales management and executive sales management experience in high technology companies. Greg's career includes positions at National Semiconductor, Cadence Design Systems, Synopsys and VA Linux Systems.

Jason Ware has been photographing the night sky since 1989 using exclusively Meade Instruments Telescopes. His photographs have appeared in many astronomical publications as well as advertisements and museum exhibits. He is also an avid observer having obtained the Messier, Herschel 400 and Binocular Messier certificates from the Astronomical League. He has a BSEE from Texas Tech University and currently works as an Application Engineer for Cadence Design Systems, a computer chip design software provider. Many of the images on his web site are film based, however, he recently began CCD imaging with a Yankee Robotics Trifid II 6303. Jason has made great strides imaging from the city using Astrodon Narrow Band filters.

Nishath has a strong track record of architecting and delivering extremely complex EDA products. As a key technologist at Cadence Design Systems, he led the engineering of Cadence's timing library characterization, delay calculation products and noise analysis core engines. He successfully integrated worldwide engineering teams and efforts from three acquisitions to create a solid multimillion dollar business. Prior to its acquisition by Cadence, Nishath served as a software architect and principal of CadMOS Design Technology. Previously, he was Chief Technologist at Apres Technologies, which was acquired by CadMOS. Nishath holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India. Nishath's doctoral work focused on extraction and simulation techniques for coupled noise in mixed signal chips. Nishath has published multiple patents in the areas of timing analysis, power variation and crosstalk. He has co-authored and presented more than 30 conference papers, journal articles and invited seminars and written 2 books on the topics of signal integrity and noise.

John A. Swainson is chief executive officer of CA and a member of the company's Board of Directors. During three decades in the Information Technology (IT) industry, John has developed a rare combination of management expertise and technology vision that he is applying to the transformation of CA. An engineer by training, he has led software operations ranging from sales and marketing to product development. In every case, he has been sharply focused on customers and on how IT can make their businesses more competitive. Under John's leadership, CA has increased its global presence and focused on its core strengths in systems, networks, security and storage management for the enterprise. At the same time, John has strengthened the company's management team, simplified its business unit structure, streamlined its distribution channels and fostered greater innovation across the company. John has also leveraged CA's deep expertise and broad product portfolio to define a unique vision to unify and simplify the management of IT across the enterprise. This vision—known as Enterprise IT Management—encompasses an integrated yet modular approach across security, storage, systems, devices and network functions. Before joining CA, John spent 26 years at IBM, most recently as vice president of worldwide sales for IBM's Software Group. Earlier, as general manager of the Application Integration and Middleware division, he and his team developed, marketed and launched the highly successful WebSphere family of middleware products. John serves on the board of directors of VISA, Inc. and Cadence Design Systems. He holds a bachelor of applied science degree in engineering from the University of British Columbia.

With ten years of experience at Cisco Systems in a variety of roles and more than twenty years of strategic marketing experience, Chief Marketing Officer, Sue Bostrom is responsible for developing and communicating Cisco’s vision and strategy through positioning, branding, advertising, and associated growth initiatives. Bostrom’s organization consists of innovative marketing professionals who are responsible for acting as a stimulus for Cisco’s growth strategy and cultivating new opportunities in both new and existing market segments. Bostrom also has responsibility for the Worldwide Government Affairs organization which develops and executes upon Cisco’s public policy agenda. The group partners with government leaders worldwide to develop policies that will enable the deployment of productivity enhancing technologies in areas such as healthcare information technology. The collaboration between Cisco’s public policy efforts and marketing is critical in helping Cisco to meet market demands in new and existing markets. Bostrom also plays a leadership role on Cisco’s Consumer Business Council, developing and managing Cisco’s business strategies for this major customer segment. Prior to her role as Chief Marketing Officer, Bostrom had responsibility for the Internet Business Solutions Group, an organization she created and built to bring vertical expertise and Internet business solutions best practices to Global Fortune 500 companies, governors, and heads of state. Customer- and partner-focused, Bostrom believes in setting a strategic direction, establishing clear business objectives and ensuring that these objectives are met. The ability to be flexible and adjust priorities quickly to accommodate changing customer demands is central to Bostrom’s management style, and the success of her organization. In addition to her primary responsibilities, Bostrom served as the executive sponsor of the Women's Initiative at Cisco from 2001 through 2004. She firmly believes that diversity in the workforce brings diversity of thought which increases a business’ competitive advantage Bostrom joined Cisco in 1997 as Vice President of Applications and Services Marketing and was appointed to Vice President of IBSG in 1998. She was promoted to Senior Vice President in February 2000 and Executive Vice President in August 2007. Previously, Bostrom served as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategic Planning at FTP Software, where she was instrumental in developing the company's product technology road map and long-term strategic options. Prior to joining FTP, Bostrom worked with National Semiconductor, where she developed and assisted in implementing National's strategy in the analog mixed-signal marketplace. Bostrom also served for U p d a t e d 0 9 / 0 7 seven years at McKinsey & Company as a leader in the electronics practice, working in areas such as strategic technical marketing, channel management, and business process reengineering. Bostrom serves on the Board of Directors for Varian Medical Systems and Stanford Hospital and Clinics. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, and was formerly on the Management Board of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Management. Bostrom holds an MBA degree from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and a B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Illinois, where she graduated in the top one percent of her undergraduate class.
