Dow Jones Description
California Casualty is a family owned company whose founding principles have withstood the test of time. In 1914, my grandfather, Carl G. Brown, Sr., based the new company on his own personal reputation for integrity, high ethical standards and devotion to customer service. When my father, Carl G. Brown, Jr., took over as Chairman of the Board in 1957, he continued those traditions and, in 1965, restated my grandfather's and his basic business principles in the California Casualty Code.
