Mr. McIntyre was formerly the President of Petro-Canada, one of Canada's largest integrated oil and gas companies operating in Canada and internationally. His significant senior executive experience includes responsibility for business strategy, production and revenue growth, business development, investor and government relations. He led Petro-Canada's International Business Unit in London and was accountable for the company's international growth strategy where he undertook the significant expansion of its international activity resulting from the $3.2 billion acquisition of the Veba upstream business from BP. Mr. McIntyre played a key role in making Petro Canada a leading participant in the major areas of upstream opportunity in Canada, including East Coast oil, the Athabasca oil sands, Mackenzie Delta, and Western Canada gas. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Signal Energy Inc. and is a Director of Canadian Natural Resources Limited.

Keith Diakiw , age 36, has served on our Board of Directors since May 15, 2007. He is a professional geologist who has field experience in Canada and Brazil. Mr. Diakiw is currently working as a Production Geologist for Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. From 2005 to 2006 he was employed by Wellsite Masters Ltd. as a Well Site Geologist for an oil sands drilling program. From 2003 to 2004, he worked as a Field Engineer for Schlumberger D&M in Brazil on offshore platforms, while in 2003, he was employed by EnCana Corporation as a Contract Geologist and successfully completed his NW Alberta shallow gas play project. Mr. Tuer has over 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry. From 1994 to 2001, he was President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of PanCanadian Petroleum Limited and its parent company, PanCanadian Energy Corporation. From January 2003 to March 2005, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Hawker Resources Inc. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Calgary Health Region and as a director of Canadian Natural Resources Limited, Rockwater Capital Corporation and Daylight Resources Trust. He is a former Assistant Deputy Minister of Energy for the Province of Alberta and also served as chairman of Mount Royal College in Calgary. Mr. Tuer received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary.

Dr. Smith is Professor Emeritus at the University of Calgary, Alberta, where he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine subsequent to being Head of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Cardiology. He is a distinguished clinician and research scientist who has made major contributions to the Canadian cardiology and medical communities and in recognition of his outstanding achievements he has been appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada. In October 2006, Dr. Smith was appointed by the Honorable Tony Clement, Minister of Health, to chair the steering committee responsible for developing a new Heart Health Strategy to fight heart disease in Canada. Dr. Smith has served as President of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, Chairman of the Scientific Review Committee of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and President of the Association of Canadian Medical Colleges. Dr. Smith currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of The Canadian Journal of Cardiology and is a member of a number of boards, including the Health Professions Advisory Board of Alberta, and is the founder and President of the Peter Lougheed Medical Research Foundation. He is a graduate of Dalhousie University Medical School and completed cardiology and research training at the National Heart Institute, London, U.K., and the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. He has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and invited contributions. Dr. Smith also serves on the boards of Canadian Natural Resources Limited and Aston Hill Financial Inc. Dr. Smith joined Vasogen’s Board in 1998 and was appointed Chairman on April 24, 2009.
