Garry Rogerson is Varian, Inc.'s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, positions he has held since 2009 and 2004, respectively. He served as President from 2002 to 2009, as Chief Operating Officer from 2002 to 2004, as Senior Vice President, Scientific Instruments from 2001 to 2002 and as Vice President, Analytical Instruments from 1999 to 2001. Dr. Rogerson has been a director of the Company since 2003. He is also a director of Coherent, Inc. Dr. Rogerson earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Kent at Canterbury, England

Ed McClammy is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Varian, Inc. He joined Varian, Inc. in 1999, bringing more than 20 years of corporate financial management experience to the company. McClammy was formerly with Quantum, where he served as vice president, finance, and treasurer, and in various finance management roles over five years. He also served as acting CFO during a portion of 1996. Prior to Quantum, he worked for Lucky Stores, Inc., starting as corporate financial accounting manager until being promoted to vice president and controller. He was also a Senior Audit Manager for Price Waterhouse and the Financial Accounting Standards Board. McClammy is a CPA and earned both his bachelor's degree in economics and master's degree in accounting and Finance from the University of Virginia. From 2007 to 2008, he was also a member of the SEC Advisory Committee on Improvements to Financial Reporting (CIFiR) that addressed the unnecessary complexity of financial reporting from both a preparer and user perspective.

Bill Homan is Varian, Inc.’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, a position he has held since 1999. He joined the Varian Associates, Inc. legal department in 1989, and prior to the spin-off, served as associate general counsel. Before joining Varian Associates, he was with the San Francisco law firm of Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon in their commercial litigation department. Homan holds a B.A. degree from Virginia Tech and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Martin O'Donoghue is Senior Vice President, Scientific Instruments for Varian, Inc, a position he has held since 2003. He was previously the Vice President, Analytical Instrument, responsible for the company's optical spectroscopy, dissolution testing, chromatography and analytical supplies product lines. Prior to that, O'Donoghue was the Vice President and General Manager of chromatography and analytical supplies, overseeing sales and marketing, research and development, manufacturing and support of the chromatography and mass spectrometry product lines. O'Donoghue began his career at Varian Associates, Inc. (Varian, Inc.'s predecessor company) in 1985 and has held numerous management positions in the company's chromatography systems business. He received his bachelor of science in industrial chemistry from the University of Limerick in Ireland and his MBA in organizational leadership from J.F. Kennedy University in Walnut Creek, Calif.

Sergio Piras is Senior Vice President of the Vacuum Technologies segment of Varian, Inc, a position he has held since 2000. He is responsible for the worldwide Vacuum Technologies operations, which provide a complete line of products and applied solutions used to create, contain, maintain, and measure ultra-clean environments, called vacuum. Piras joined Varian Associates, Inc. in 1971 as a financial analyst in Europe. From 1979 to 1984, he worked in the Palo Alto Vacuum Division as controller until 1981 when he became marketing manager in charge of U.S. sales, service and training operations. He returned to Switzerland in 1984 as director of marketing for the European Vacuum Products operations. In 1986, he assumed responsibility for all European Vacuum operations (based in Torino, Italy). In February 2000, his responsibilities were expanded to include the worldwide operation of Varian?s Vacuum Technologies business. Piras holds an accounting degree from the Italian State School of Accounting and a degree in sociology from the University of Urbino.

Mike Fitzgerald is Varian, Inc.’s Vice President, Human Resources, a position he assumed in 2008. He was previously Vice President, Human Resources, for the Company’s Scientific Instruments segment. Prior to joining Varian in 2007, Fitzgerald held various senior human resource roles with Vodafone in both the U.S. and the U.K. In addition, he has held HR positions with a unit of Xerox Financial Services, United Technologies and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco. He earned a master’s degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Sean Wirtjes is Varian, Inc.' s Vice President, Finance and Treasurer, a position he has held since 2008. He is responsible for all treasury operations, investor relations activities and various strategic finance initiatives. Wirtjes previously served as the Company's Controller, a position he assumed in 2004. He has been a Vice President since 2006. Prior to joining Varian, Wirtjes was Corporate Controller at Quova, Inc. where he managed all aspects of finance and administration, including human resources, legal, facilities and office management. Wirtjes was also a Senior Audit Manager of the Technology Industry Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Wirtjes earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Boston College. He is a certified public accountant and a member of Financial Executives International.

Jim has more than 15 years experience in customer support, sales and International Marketing of analytical instrumentation. Prior to joining the company Jim served as the Marketing Manager for the GC/MS product line at Agilent Technologies. During his tenure Jim led a number successful product developments, integrated marketing programs, and world wide product launches. Jim has worked with many international corporations and government agencies in Asia and Europe. During the 1990's Jim work for Varian Inc. in field support, International Marketing and as the GC and sample introduction Marketing Manager. As the International Marketing Representative Jim successfully grew Varian's GC and Gc/MS sales in the Pacific Rim countries during is tenure in this position. Jim holds an MBA with honors from St. Mary's College, Moraga, California, and a BS in Chemistry from Cleveland State University, Ohio.

Andrew loves the outdoors, and spends as much time as he can hiking, mountain biking, camping and cross country skiing, and indulges his interest in photography wherever his travels take him as well. In his spare time he also volunteers with of one of Canada's premier folk/indie rock music festivals.

Christophe Deckers, completed his Masters degree in Chemistry at l' Universite du Quebec a Montreal. He previously worked at St-Justine's Hospital, doing cancer research using multiple chromatographic techniques. Then he worked with a leading provider of bio-separation technologies.

Danielle Beland obtained her degree from the Universite de Quebec a Montreal. She joined Varian Canada in October 1987. She is one of Varian Canada's chromatography and mass spectrometry specialists. With more than 30 years experience in GC and GCMS she provides expert technical support to Varian customers in Eastern Canada helping them with method development, troubleshooting...etc. Danielle has also been involved in many training sessions and seminars. Her broad based knowledge and experience make her an invaluable resource for Varian customers and staff members alike.

At that time he assumed sales responsibilities for AA, ICP-OES and ICP-MS in Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces as well as ICP-MS in Eastern Ontario. In his free time, Jacques enjoys spending time with his family and friends and riding his motorcycle.

Jason Dunbar joined the ranks of Varian Canada's Sales/Chemist contingent in the summer of 1998. With his B.Sc. from the University of Alberta, and a strong background in analytical chemistry gained over several years as a chemist/supervisor

Manish is an athletic person. A former varsity rower, he currently trains for Marathons & Triathlons, and has completed many half marathons and some Triathlons. Skiing in the winter, canoeing Canada's wilderness in the summer and, traveling year round are activities he enjoys. He also gives of his time volunteering for charitable organizations and events.

Marcus Kim received his combined honours B.Sc from York University with a specialization in molecular biology and organic chemistry in 1995. After working for a year, he then enrolled into the graduate program at McMaster University and received his Ph.D. in 2002 in chemistry. Marcus joined Varian in May of 2004 as trainer for the chromatography and mass spectrometry division. Currently Marcus is the LCMS applications specialist for Canada, Team leader for LCMS training in North America and LCMS support specialist for North America. In addition to his many duties with Varian Canada, Marcus is also involved with new product development, implementation and consultation with Varian R&D. As a counterpoint to his interests in science, Marcus is a classically trained pianist with an interest in the virtuoso romantic era repertoire and a passionate fitness enthusiast/bodybuilder. He hopes one day to combine his passions and benchpress a Steinway grand piano.

Mark Cullen joined Varian in in early 1984 as a Service Representative in Winnipeg, after graduating from Red River Community College. Five and a half years later, he made the transition to sales and moved to Edmonton where he is currently based. His strong background in hardware and his exceptional understanding of his Western customers' needs enables

Mike Lee is a graduate of BCIT and he worked for Varian in the late 80's early 90's as a field customer support representative servicing AA, GC, LC and UV. He left Varian in 1991 and worked in sales and business management capacities with electronics and micro wave technology companies. He rejoined Varian Canada in November 2007, and working out of Vancouver,

she returned, after enjoying maternity leave, with a boost of energy to help customers across Canada with their needs in Chromatography Consumables (SPE Products, GC & HPLC Columns, Gas Clean Filter, Parts & Supplies and more...). Nathalie enjoys spending time with her family. Whenever possible she is traveling, gardening, skiing and hopes to soon secure her private pilot's license.

Sylvie Larocque came to Varian Canada in the fall of 2000 after gaining four and a half years of sales and customer service experience with a major Canadian instrument and consumeable supplier. Prior to this she worked for several years in molecular biology/cell culture where she put her Batchelor of Science degree from the Universite de Montreal to good use. She is based in Montreal and offers Varian Inc's line of Chromatography products to our Customers in the Province of Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Sylvie enjoys gardening, inline skating, skiing and lounging around her pool with her daughter.

James T. Glover joined Anadys in September 2006 as Senior Vice President, Operations and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Glover joined Anadys from Beckman Coulter, Inc., a $2.4 billion global clinical diagnostics and biomedical research company, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2003. During his 17-year tenure at Beckman Coulter, he held a variety of significant management positions including: Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer (2003); Vice President and Treasurer (1999 to 2003); Vice President and Controller (1993-1999); Vice President-Strategic Planning & Program Management, Diagnostic Division (1993); and Vice President-Controller/Divisional CFO (1989-1993). Prior to that, Jim worked for six years with several divisions of SmithKline Beckman, Inc., including Allergan Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Glover currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Varian, Inc. Mr. Glover, a certified public accountant, holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a B.S. in Accounting from California State Polytechnic University.

John Lewzey is the longest currently serving member of the Varian Canada staff, starting as a Service Representative in May 1969! (Rumour has it he started with Varian at ten years old!) John has worn different hats over the years; Service Representative, National Service Manager, and most recently Product Specialist, concentrating on the Spectroscopy product line. While based in Mississauga, John travels widely assisting our customers.
