Gabriele Cerrone has served as a director of Inhibitex since September 2007. From March 1999 to January 2005, Mr. Cerrone served as a Senior Vice President of Investments of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., a financial services firm. Between May 2001 and May 2003, Mr. Cerrone served on the board of directors of Siga Technologies, Inc. Mr. Cerrone co-founded Xenomics, Inc., a molecular diagnostic company, and served as Co- Chairman from July 2005 until November 2006. Moshe Talpaz, M.D. Dr. Talpaz is the chairman of our Scientific Advisory Board and currently is associated with the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center where he holds the titles of Professor, Internal Medicine, Associate Director, Translational Research and Associate Chief of Hematologic Malignancies. Dr. Talpaz was formerly the Professor of Medicine, David Burton, Jr. Endowed Chair at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. Dr. Talpaz was formerly Chairman of the Department of Bioimmunotherapy of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Talpaz has been and continues to be involved in the clinical development of numerous cancer drugs and has been a pioneer in developing currently accepted treatment protocols especially in the leukemia area. Dr. Talpaz is a member of many committees such as the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Guidelines Panel and sits on several editorial and advisory boards, such as Hematology Digest, Bone Marrow Transplantation and Clinical Cancer Research. In 2003, Dr. Talpaz received the prestigious "Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Service to Mankind Award" for his pioneering work in this cancer field. Dr. Talpaz discovered the use of interferon-a for treating chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and he was the principal investigator until FDA approval. In addition, Dr. Talpaz has acted as a consultant to Hoffman LaRoche with regards to the FDA approval process for interferon.

Dr. Johnson joins Callisto after an extensive career in the area of cancer drug development. With over 30 years of experience in government and industry in cancer drug discovery and development, Dr. Johnson is also a co-author on 200 scientific papers and an inventor on 14 issued U.S. patents. During his 20 year career at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals (eventually GlaxoSmithKline), Dr. Johnson headed the cancer drug discovery effort and also was responsible for setting up centralized high throughput screening. Dr. Johnson was responsible for the discovery and development of topotecan, which has been marketed worldwide for the treatment of ovarian and lung cancers. He is currently an independent consultant in oncology and has, in the past 3 years, provided advice and guidance to over 60 clients in the venture capital, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of seven biotechnology companies in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Stephen K. Carter, M.D. has served on our Board of Directors since September 1998. Since 1997, Dr. Carter has been a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Carter was Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 1995 to 1997. Prior to joining Boehringer, Dr. Carter was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Clinical Research and Development at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. From 1976 to 1982, Dr. Carter served as Director of the Northern California Cancer Program. Dr. Carter was also appointed to President Clinton's panel for AIDS drug development. Dr. Dalla-Favera is Director of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia University, and the Percy and Joanne Uris Professor of Pathology and Professor of Genetics & Development. Dr. Dalla-Favera is an expert in the field of hematology malignancies, having received his medical degree and completed his training in hematology/oncology at the University of Milan, Italy. After a residency in hematology at the University of Milan and a visiting fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Dalla-Favera spent seven years on the New York University School of Medicine faculty, before joining Columbia's College of Physicians and Surgeons in the Department of Pathology, where he presently heads the University's Cancer Center and is the Director of the Specialized Center for Research on Lymphoma at Columbia funded by the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
