Capital H Group

Tony Cockerill is founder of CHPD and president of Capital H Group. He is recognised as one of the leading experts in leadership, team and organisational development. Whilst at the London Business School he led major international research into the characteristics that distinguish leaders, teams and organisations which perform to outstanding levels in dynamic and competitive environments. Working with his research partners in the US and drawing upon primary research into leadership competency and development Tony founded the Centre for High Performance Development (CHPD) in 1995. The leadership side of CHPD's work is grounded in Tony's PhD research into the leadership behaviours which underpin superior performance - Leadership Behaviour Associated with Organisational Performance (1992). The validation study of these behaviours was undertaken while Tony was a research fellow at the London Business School - Validation Study into the High Performance Managerial Competencies (1993). A summary of key aspects of the research was published in the London Business School's Business Strategy Review - Managerial Competencies: Fact or Fiction (1995). Since completing the research and validation work, Tony has undertaken projects for clients in Germany, France, Russia, Japan, the UK and the US. Tony continues to provide direction to CHPD's ongoing research programme which includes the identification of high potential leaders, the development of high performing cross-cultural teams and diversity in leadership. Tony also devotes time to speaking engagements and consulting in various industries including financial services, healthhcare, government, communications and transportation.

Sherry is a results oriented executive with over 20 years experience helping organizations increase their sales and organizational effectiveness. She is a strategic and pragmatic leader with a proven track record of analyzing business needs and applying innovative solutions. Her industry experience spans healthcare, technology, and human capital consulting services. Her healthcare experience includes both clinical and non-clinical management positions. Early in Sherry?s career she worked with a team of cardiologists providing patient care at a large Midwest regional heart center of excellence. Later, she transitioned to a major health care system with responsibility for developing, selling, and managing services targeted for physicians, as well as Fortune 1000 companies. Prior to joining Private Health News, Sherry was Vice President and Managing Director at an international consultancy firm providing organizational design, leadership development, and talent management services globally across multiple industries. Sherry earned her master?s degree in business administration from Xavier University, and is a published author of articles on diversity and the multi-generational workforce.

Bruce Gorchow joined PPM in 1991 to start the Private Finance Group where he was responsible for investing over $10 billion in various private asset classes. Gorchow was named President of PPM America Capital Partners in 1999, and now manages the $2 billion private equity portfolio. He has 25 years of investment experience, having previously worked at Equitable Capital Management, E.F. Hutton, and TIAA. Gorchow serves on the Board of Directors of Red Door Spa Holdings, Sterigenics Holdings, Inc., and WNC Holdings, Inc.

Bill serves as a consultant to Mercantile. He is the founder and a Managing Director of Considine Financial, LLC, a private equity advisory and investment firm. Bill has twenty years of investment and financial experience, including previous positions with PPM America, Heller Financial, and Coopers & Lybrand. Bill was with PPM America for twelve years, most recently as a Senior Partner, where he was the head of the direct equity investing effort for PPM America Capital Partners LLC, an $805 million fund. He also has extensive experience in senior and subordinated lending and investing at PPM and Heller and was a public auditor with Coopers & Lybrand. Bill currently serves on the Board of Directors of Packaging Advantage Corporation, Cygnus Corporation, and Capital H Group. Bill previously served on the Board of Directors of Experimental and Applied Sciences, Industrial Coatings Group, Specialty Brands of America as well as the Advisory Board of Brockway, Moran & Partners. Bill received his B.Sc. of Accountancy from DePaul University in 1984 and is a Certified Public Accountant. He also serves on the Board of the Chicago chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
