Michael Shor was appointed Executive Vice President - Advanced Metals Operations (AMO) and Premium Alloys Operations (PAO) of Carpenter Technology Corporation in October 2008. Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE: CRS) produces and distributes specialty alloys, including stainless steel, titanium alloys, and superalloys. Shor, a longtime veteran of Carpenter, reports directly to Company Chief Executive Officer Anne Stevens. In this position, Shor is responsible for the AMO and PAO business of Carpenter, along with all manufacturing facilities. Prior to this position, Shor served as Sr. Vice President PAO from 2007 to 2008. Previously, Shor served as Sr. Vice President -Engineered Products Operations from 2004 to 2007 and as Sr. Vice President, Specialty Alloys Operations of Carpenter from 2000 to 2004. From 1997 to 2000, Shor served as Vice President, Manufacturing Operations. Prior to that, he held several positions with Carpenter, including General Manager, Global Marketing and Product Services; General Manager, Marketing; and General Manager, Bar Product Manufacturing. Shor began his career at Carpenter as an Assistant Metallurgist in 1981. Shor was born in Philadelphia and earned a bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and his master's In Business Administration from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pa.
