Jim Bayles leads Catalyst's newsprint, international sales and containerboard teams, which are responsible for global sales for all of the company's product lines. Jim has more than 25 years of paper sales experience in the U.S., Canada and international markets and is well respected in the groundwood paper industry. Jim was previously director of international sales for Pacifica Papers.

Having joined Catalyst in 1999, Matt Stapleton is responsible for sales to our retail insert customers as well as management of our uncoated product lines at our Powell River and Elk Falls mills. He has extensive experience in various sales management positions with a number of leading paper companies. "My goal is to meet the needs of our customers from the time they order the paper until it is run through the press." Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The United States Naval Academy. Matt is based in Seattle.

Paul Gordon is the leader of Catalyst's directory team, with well over 30 years of experience in the paper business. Beginning his career with Crown Zellerbach in 1974, Paul has sold everything a " from waxed paper to coffee filter paper to linerboard. His responsibilities now include managing Catalysta s telephone directory business. With an exceptional track record, Paul brings a solid mix of leadership, knowledge and experience to the team. "I am proud of the accomplishments we have enjoyed in transforming our company into a true industry leader. We are now recognized as the preferred supplier and honoured by the trust our customers place in us. I am looking forward to continuing to build on the momentum we have established and improving every aspect of our offerings." Paul is based in Seattle.

Peter's industry experience spans both pulp and paper. He started with British Columbia Forest Products in 1984 first as a newsprint sales representative for the Canadian market, and then overseas. Sixteen years later, he moved into pulp sales for the European market, became sales director in 2001 and vice-president in 2005. "We have an excellent network of international agents and many long-term, loyal customers. The association I have with these people has made my transition to the pulp side of the business a most enjoyable experience."

Hamish assumed his position as director, containerboard in September 2005. He first joined Catalyst as director, international sales in 2003 following several years of sales experience in the medical products area and as a consultant with RLG International in Canada and Australia. He is based in Richmond.

James Hardt joined Catalyst in 1997. He has held various roles within the company and began selling Catalyst's paper products in April 2004. James has over two decades of printing and paper experience and is now responsible for managing sales solutions to retail insert customers. James completed his undergraduate studies at Mercer University in Atlanta, Ga. and is now based in Seattle.

Newsprint sales director John Moler has more than 20 years of experience selling and servicing the printing and publishing industry. Having worked with some of North America's largest paper manufacturers and distributors, he has a successful record of helping customers meet their product and service goals. "It's great to be part of an organization laser-focused on meeting the needs of the customer. Catalyst has the talent, motivation and manufacturing complex to make it happen." John is located in our Long Beach location.

Linda has held several positions within the sales and marketing group since she joined Catalyst Paper (then Fletcher Challenge Canada) in 1989. She first worked in customer service, then moved to newsprint sales and specialty paper sales in Canada and Australia. In 2001 Linda became sales operations manager for directory and newspaper publishers. She is based in Richmond.

Rob has more than 31 years of technical and sales experience in the paper and print industries. He began his career as a press operator and is a graduate of the advanced web printing program at the Rochester Institute of Technology and the applied arts/graphics program at Algonquin College. Before joining Catalyst in 2003, Rob worked as technical customer service manager for Stora Enso North America. Rob is based in Richmond.

As Director, Specialty Sales, Steve Wareham works closely with our customers in the U.S. Midwest to ensure they arrive at the paper solutions that best fit their needs. He brings more than a decade of paper experience to his position, much of it focused on specialty paper sales. Steve holds a master of science in management with a marketing/strategy concentration from Purdue University and a bachelor of business from Western Illinois University. He is based in Illinois.

Jim Wright knows paper from both sides, having worked with printing companies for 13 years in pressroom, production and plant manager positions, prior to moving into paper sales in 1994. Now with Catalyst, Jim focuses on matching the right paper solutions to the needs of our magazine and catalogue customers. He is based in California.

Ken Brar has been providing solid strategic and financial insight since joining the company more than 20 years ago. Starting as an accountant with Crown Paper, Ken progressed to various finance roles at the Elk Falls mill before moving into strategic planning and then sales and marketing in the corporate office. As sales operations manager for specialties, Ken oversees the development of new sales opportunities and plays a key connecting role between sales, customer service, supply chain and manufacturing. Ken is based in Richmond.

Wayne has been with the company for 23 years. With a BSc degree from the University of Victoria, he started in the company's groundwood operation before moving into the accounting department. Wayne then completed the CGA program and was promoted to shipping supervisor in 1992. He is widely recognized for excellence in handling and logistics customer service and is now based in the Crofton area as the company's technical logistics manager.

Blair lives and breathes directory paper, having worked in technical support roles for RR Donnelley, James River Corporation and Simpson Paper Company before joining Catalyst in 1996 to lead the development of lightweight coated papers at the Port Alberni mill. Today he focuses heavily on directory paper performance and improvements. "Our technical team not only benefits from a printing background, but substantial experience in a broad range of printing and converting categories. We can draw on this depth of knowledge when resolving print problems with our customers. And it provides a big advantage in developing new products to meet existing or emerging customer needs." Blair is based in Portland, Oregon.

John has worked in the lithography and paper industry for 32 years. His knowledge of the printing industry was built from the bottom up, with 23 years to his credit. John prides himself on providing his customers with in-depth commercial printing knowledge, and uses his experience to help customers improve quality, maximize production and reduce waste. His goal is to provide the best technical customer service possible. John is based in Long Beach, California.

With 26 years of experience in the printing, publishing and paper industries, Russell has provided technical support to our customers in the US Midwest and East Coast since joining the company in 2002. He previously worked in printing for Greater Buffalo Press (now American Color Graphics) and Quebecor Printing in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Russell also worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as the purchasing manager in charge of paper purchasing and in technical service and sales for Canadian Pacific Forest Products (now Bowater) and Alberta Newsprint. Russell is based in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
