Jim Owens is chairman and chief executive officer of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. After joining the company in 1972 as a corporate economist, he has held numerous management positions.
Owens was named chief economist of Caterpillar Overseas S.A. in Geneva, Switzerland in 1975. From 1980 until 1987 he held managerial positions in Peoria in the Accounting and Product Source Planning Departments. In 1987, Owens became managing director of P.T. Douglas R. Oberhelman is a group president of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. He has responsibility for the company’s human services and sustainable development functions as well as Caterpillar’s growing remanufacturing business. He also oversees worldwide manufacturing, marketing and support of industrial and large power systems, industrial gas turbines and Progress Rail Services.
Oberhelman joined Caterpillar in 1975 and has held a variety of positions including senior finance representative based in South America for Caterpillar Americas Co; region finance manager and district manager for the company’s North American Commercial Division; and managing director and vice general manager for strategic planning at Caterpillar Japan Ltd. (CJL) - Caterpillar’s affiliated company in Tokyo, Japan.
Oberhelman was elected a vice president in 1995, serving as Caterpillar’s chief financial officer with administrative responsibility for the corporation’s accounting, information services, tax, treasury, investor relations and marketing support services areas from 1995 to November 1998. In 1998, he became vice president with responsibility for the Engine Products Division, including the market development, strategic planning, supplier management, electric power generation and worldwide marketing and administration for Caterpillar’s engine business. He was elected a group president and member of Caterpillar’s executive office in 2002.
Oberhelman has a bachelor’s degree from Millikin University. He has served as chairman of the board of trustees for Millikin University and chairman of the board of directors for Easter Seals, and he is a former director for the boards of South Side Bank, Millikin University and Easter Seals. He is a director for the boards of The Nature Conservancy - Illinois Chapter; Ameren Corporation, serving as chairman of the Ameren Corporation Audit Committee; and Eli Lilly and Company, serving on the Audit and Finance Committees. "Steven H. Wunning is a group president and executive office member of Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. Wunning has administrative responsibility for the Advanced Systems Division, Core Components Division, Electronics & Connected Worksite Division, Logistics Division, Product Development Center of Excellence, and Global Purchasing Division.
Since joining Caterpillar in 1973, Wunning has held numerous positions with increasing responsibility in the areas of quality, manufacturing, product support and logistics. In 1987, he was one of the first employees in the newly formed subsidiary Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc. (Cat Logistics), which was established to leverage Caterpillar's expertise by providing logistics services to other companies. He became vice president of Cat Logistics in 1990 and president in 1994. In 1998, Wunning was named corporate vice president with responsibility for the Logistics & Product Services Division. In 2000, he became corporate vice president with responsibility for the Logistics Division, which combined all of the internal Caterpillar and external client logistics operations into a single unit. David B. Burritt is chief financial officer and vice president of Caterpillar's Global Finance and Strategic Services Division in Peoria, Ill. Burritt joined Caterpillar in 1978 as an accountant. Daniel M. Murphy is vice president with administrative responsibility for the Global Purchasing Division, which is responsible for consolidating various purchasing functions and fabrication operations to achieve synergies in global cost reduction and supplier quality improvements.
Murphy joined Caterpillar in 1969 as a trainee in plant operations in East Peoria, Ill. He held various manufacturing and engineering positions in Decatur, Ill., before being named an assistant division manager in Products Control in 1976 in Peoria, Ill. In 1978 he was named Products Control supervisor for Caterpillar Overseas S.A., based in Geneva, Switzerland. He returned to Decatur in 1980 as a factory superintendent, later serving as superintendent in Facility Planning and as a manager in Indirect Planning.
Murphy became corporate assistant director of manufacturing in 1986, a position he held until 1990 when he was named manufacturing manager in Aurora. After a corporate-wide reorganization that year, he was named a product manager of excavators. In 1996, he was named general manager of the Mossville Engine Center, and was elected a vice president later that year. As part of a reorganization at Caterpillar's Engine Division in 1996, Murphy's group was renamed Performance Engine Products Division. There he assumed responsibility for the company's diesel engine production facilities in Mossville, Ill., and Greenville, S.C.; foundry operation in Mapleton, Ill., and administration of branded engine programs.
In December 2001, the Caterpillar Board of Directors named Murphy vice president of the Global Purchasing Division. This division is headquartered in Mossville, Ill., but covers purchasing activities worldwide.
Murphy received a master's degree in business administration from Illinois State University in 1974. He has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University.
He is on the Advisory Board of the AAA Chicago Motor Club and a Commissioner on the Peoria Civic Center Authority.

Gary A. Stroup is the vice president of Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division. He joined the company in 1972 as a machine shop trainee. He became a training instructor in 1974 and a machine shop foreman in 1978 at the company's East Peoria, Ill. manufacturing facility.
Starting in 1979, Stroup served in a variety of management positions, including planning and tooling manager at the East Peoria manufacturing facility, assistant director of manufacturing, and manager of the Transmission business unit in the Component Products Division. He was elected vice president in 1992 with responsibility for the company's Hauling Units and Motor Graders business unit in Decatur, Ill. Jim Buda is vice president of the Legal Services Division at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Ill. He is also general counsel and secretary of Caterpillar Inc.
Buda joined Caterpillar in 1987 as an attorney in the legal department. He has served in a number of senior corporate attorney positions and was named associate general counsel in 1996. In 1999, Buda assumed the position of associate general counsel for the Legal Services Division in the United Kingdom legal office. He has held his current position since 2001.

"Jim Waters is a vice president of Caterpillar Inc. with responsibility for the Caterpillar Production Center of Excellence.
After joining the company as an engineering co-op trainee in 1978, Waters held numerous staff engineering positions in planning and manufacturing and systems. He moved to Japan in 1990 to the Hydraulic Excavator Design Center with Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi (SCM) – now Caterpillar Japan Ltd. (CJL), where he held positions in component design and production. He became managing director of production there in 1993. He served as managing director and general manager of the Leicester, England, Building Construction Products Division facility from 1996 to 2002, when he became general manager of the hydraulics and hydraulic systems business in Joliet, Ill. Waters was previously manager of the Hydraulics and Hydraulic Systems business unit in Joliet, Ill., a position he had held since 2002. He was responsible for the company's hydraulic components and integrated systems, including operations in Joliet, Ill., Sumter, S.C. and Jesi, Italy.
Waters has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University.
He is chairman of the Engineering College Industrial Advisory Council at Iowa State University. Waters is also co-chair of Rialto Square Theater Capital Campaign, a member of the Community Advisory Panel for 2008 Central Illinois Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes.

"Michael J. Baunton was vice president of the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) Operations Division of Caterpillar Inc. based in Geneva, Switzerland. As previously announced, he will retire at the end of April 2009.
Baunton began his career in 1969 at U.K.-based Automotive Products. He joined Quinton Hazell, a U.K.-based automotive components company, in 1977 and held numerous positions through 1985, including manufacturing director of Quinton Hazell Automotive. He joined Tenneco Inc. in 1985 as managing director of Monroe Australia, and then served as managing director of Monroe Europe, in Belgium, from 1987 to1993. Baunton was president of Walker Manufacturing, a division of Tenneco Inc., in Racine, Wisconsin, from 1993 to 1995. He joined Perkins Group Ltd. as group chief executive in 1995 and became president of Perkins Engines Company in March 1998, following Caterpillar's acquisition of Perkins. He was elected a Caterpillar vice president in November 1998.
Baunton has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Coventry University in Coventry, U.K., a master's degree in business analysis from Lancaster University in the U.K., and is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He was awarded the honor of CBE for his services to the UK automotive and engineering industries in 2004.
He is Chairman of the Industry Forum in the UK, an industry and government partnership that provides manufacturing improvement services. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of The Amcham EU.

"Paolo Fellin is vice president of Distribution Services Division of Caterpillar SARL, which includes Europe, Africa, the Middle East , Russia and CIS. With broad experience in sales, marketing, product management and operations , Fellin has spent the majority of his career at Caterpillar in locations throughout Europe .
Since joining Caterpillar in 1980, as part of the company's European operations in Geneva, Switzerland, Fellin has held positions in sales and marketing, product development and operations in Europe, Africa, Middle East and North America.
From 1992 to 1996, Fellin was product manager for Caterpillar's small track hydraulic excavator, based in Grenoble, France. He then spent three years as wheel loaders product manager in Gosselies, Belgium before being named general manager of Caterpillar W ork Tools and S ervices in North America in 1999.
In 2003, he was appointed industry manager for Caterpillar's North American Commercial Division (NACD) with responsibility for heavy industries, general construction, paving, forestry, industrial, work tools and governmental sectors of the company's North American marketing division. In 2004, the Caterpillar Board of Directors named Fellin vice president of EAME Marketing Division, and as of January 2009, vice president of EAME Distribution Services.
Fellin holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and a M.B.A from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and is a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program at Kellogg Graduate Business School at Northwestern University.

Banwart assumed responsibility for the Component Products Division in 1998 and was named as Caterpillar’s first chief information officer and head of the new Systems + Processes Division in 2000. He was named to his current position in April 2004.
Banwart holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Iowa State University and an executive MBA from the University of Illinois. He graduated from Duke University's Advanced Management Program, the Business & Public Policy Program at Brookings Institute and the Aspen Institute.
He serves as a member of the Personnel Round Table and as a member of the Board of Directors for the H.R. Policy Association. He is on the Board of Directors of The Weitz Company of Des Moines, IA. Springer became product manager for hydraulic excavators in Aurora, Ill. in 1996 where he was responsible for excavator product development, manufacturing, and commercial support working with Caterpillar marketing organizations in North and South America and Australia/Asia. In 1998, he became president of Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc., responsible for all third party logistics clients such as Daimler Chrysler, Harley Davidson, and Ericcson. He held this position until May 2002 when he was elected a vice president for the Product Support Division.
On January 1, 2006, all key Caterpillar marketing processes were combined creating the Marketing & Product Support Division. This new division is responsible for the development of Caterpillar’s global aftermarket parts product development and serviceability strategies as well as Cat’s global brand management strategies. This includes developing business and process solutions for Cat dealer deployment to end users in the areas of machine marketing, product support, rental and used equipment, and new connected worksite technology. MPSD also includes three service organizations: Cat World Trade, Job Site Solutions Group, and the Emissions Solutions Group.

William Osborn is General Partner of Commons Capital LP, a "double bottom line" venture capital fund investing in private companies with significant growth potential whose products, services or corporate cultures promote a sustainable economy by delivering market solutions to social and environmental problems. The fund is an active investor in small companies in the environment, clean energy, healthcare and education markets. Mr. Osborn is also a special partner with Arete Corporation, a venture firm managing investments in the telecommunications, software and energy industries. Gerald L. Shaheen , age 64, has been a director of the Company since October 2005. Until his retirement from Caterpillar Inc. in January 2008, Mr. Shaheen held numerous marketing and general management positions, both in the United States and Europe. Most recently from 1998 to 2008, Mr. Shaheen served as a Group President.
