Chris Rother is group vice president of public sector for CDW Government, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW Corporation, which addresses the unique needs of the government and education markets with brand name technology products and services. Rother leads the federal, education, state and local and healthcare sales teams and oversees a group of inside and field sales executives responsible for making sure that customers have the best experience possible with CDW-G. This includes working with vendor partners to build solutions that fit customer technology needs and forming strategic partnerships with organizations such as Scholastic's Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, Project Inkwell and the Discovery Channel School that provide funding and educational resources to schools. Rother joined the company in 1991 as an entry-level account manager, and quickly rose through the ranks. In 1998, she participated on the team that created CDW-G and in 2002 was appointed vice president for education and state and local sales. Rother's responsibilities were expanded in 2005 when she was chosen to lead the company's newly formed healthcare sales team. She was promoted to group vice president of sales in 2006 and assumed her current role in 2007. Prior to joining the company, Rother held a number of sales positions with technology companies including Laser Computers and Price Electronics.
