The Company markets its dietary supplement products through private label retailers in the U.S. and partners with industry leaders for the marketing and business development of its pharmaceutical and OTC products and services internationally. The Company's technology platform is based on a portfolio of drug delivery patents. Its platform offers lower cost, ease of formulation and scale up advantages over competing technologies. SCOLR's first technology was licensed from Temple University in 1998 and since then has expanded to include three patented drug delivery technologies applicable to a wide variety of common and challenging classes of drugs and nutritional ingredients (U.S. patent Nos. 6,090,411; 6,337,091; 6,517,868; 6,936,275; 7,229,642; and Patents pending). Founded in 1983 as BioTechniques Laboratories, the Company's original mission was to research and manufacture probiotic strains for human and animal use. SCOLR became a publicly traded corporation in 1995 and expanded into product formulation and drug delivery in 1998. Dr. Bruce S. Morra has been the President and CEO of SCOLR Pharma, Inc. since January 2009. He has been an independent consultant since February 2000. He was the President of West Drug Delivery Systems, a division of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., from April 2003 through December 2004. He served as the President, COO, CFO and board member of Biopore Corporation and Polygenetics, Inc., two related companies developing technology for drug delivery and medical devices for biomedical and industrial applications from 1998 through 2002, then served as Executive Vice President, Chief Business Officer and board member from 2002 to 2004. From 1993 through 2000, he served as President and COO of Flamel Technologies, Inc., a company developing, manufacturing and licensing drug and agrochemical delivery technologies and products. Dr. Morra previously served as director of Unigene from 2001 to 2003. He currently serves as a director for SCOLR Pharma, Inc. and InforMedix Holdings, Inc. Daniel O. Wilds , is our president and chief executive officer. From 1998 to July 2003, Mr. Wilds served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Northwest Biotherapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing immunotherapy products that safely generate and enhance immune system responses to effectively treat cancer. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Wilds served as president and chief executive officer of Shiloov Biotechnologies (USA), Inc. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Wilds served as president and chief executive officer of Adeza Biomedical Corporation, prior to which he served as president and chief executive officer of Medisense, Inc. and president of Baxter's Chemotherapy Service.
