Michael Griem is Senior Vice President and President, North American Inks, responsible for all aspects of our inks operations in North America. Mr. Griem began his tenure at Sun Chemical in 1993 as General Manager-Liquid Inks, Sun Chemical Hartmann. He was named Group Managing Director in 1996, and was promoted in 2002 to Corporate Vice President and Group Managing Director, Europe, where he led the following businesses: Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, Eastern Europe, Nordic Region, and Poland. Additionally, he led the technology and product activities for liquid ink across Europe. Mr. Griem joined Sun Chemical following a successful career with Ceilcote (Germany), a division of Sandoz. He began his professional career with Ceilcote USA, in Berea, Ohio, where he was trained in most functional areas including sales, R&D, production and engineering, and held positions of increasing responsibility, including positions of management for global business units in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Griem received his Chemical Engineering degree from the Technical University of Mannheim, Germany after serving as Assistant Chemist Assistant Lecturer for Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry at the Physical -Technical College in Hamburg, Germany. He also attended the Harvard Graduate School of Business Senior Executive Program. A holder of two patents, he has been a featured speaker at trade seminars and has been published in trade journals.
