Barbara?s mother, the light of her life, says Barbara always wrote stories. She often relays how her stories were about characters with strange names who fought amongst each other, mostly vying for power. She has been writing since she could put pencil to paper! Barbara was born in 1964 in Chicago, and, as a native, loved the city and could not imagine living anywhere else. In May of 1999, she received her Master of Science in Journalism from Roosevelt Univerity in Chicago. Her first book, All I Ask, was published by Genesis Press under its Indigo Imprint in 2000. And her second book, An Unfinished Love Affair, also published by Genesis, was released in March, 2002. Her current book is titled Blaze. Barbara currently works as a Government and Community Relations Officer for the Chicago Transit Authority and is a member of the Masonic Order of the Eastern Star.

Mr. Gagliardo is the Managing Partner of Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin and Tominberg, Ltd., and is the Chair of its Litigation Department. Since joining the Firm as a partner in 1988, Mr. Gagliardo has been counsel to publicly and privately held corporations, and has represented a number of public sector employers, including the State of Illinois, State Treasurer, County of Cook, State's Attorney for Cook County, Cook County Public Defender, City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Housing Authority, Chicago Board of Education, and the City Colleges of Chicago. Mr. Gagliardo has written articles and conducted seminars on labor and employment relations matters. He also has drafted legislation and testified before the Illinois Legislature and the City Council of the City of Chicago. While an attorney for the City, he was a member of the National Institute of Municipal Law Officers (served as Editor, Section Publications, Section on Personnel and Labor Relations), Illinois Public Employer Labor Relations Association, and Illinois Municipal League. Mr. Gagliardo was voted one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Illinois in 2007 according to a Super Lawyer poll appearing in Chicago Magazine. The selection is the result of lawyer nominations of the best attorneys observed in action. Mr. Gagliardo has also been named one of the Leading Lawyers in Illinois in the area of labor and employment law based on a statewide survey of lawyers. Leading Lawyers comprise less than 5% of all lawyers in Illinois. He was also selected as one of America39 Leading Lawyers for Business by the Chambers USA in its Guide to America39 Leading Business Lawyers, which described him as "bright," "thorough" and "hard-driving." Mr. Gagliardo is also an elected Fellow/Member of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Additionally, Mr. Gagliardo has been included in The Best Lawyers in America, and Who39 Who Legal USA -- Management, Labour and Employment.
