Mr. Charles Chen Chih Yuan has been a Director since May 1998 and was appointed Chairman in May 2000. He has been a member of the Nominating Committee since September 2003. Mr. Chen was last re-elected on 28 April 2004. He has 15 years of experiences in advanced technology, financial, insurance and transportation management. Presently, Mr. Chen is the Chairman of Eyon Holding Group, a holding entity of a Taiwan based conglomerate. Mr. Chen is also the Chairman of Epistar Corporation, the leader in high brightness LED chips in Taiwan and the world's largest supplier of AIGaInP LED chips. He holds several other important positions such as the vice chairman of Taian Insurance Co., Ltd., and Taiwan Aircargo Terminal. He is also a board member of China Airlines, Far Eastern Air Transport Corp., and Grace THW Holding Limited. Mr. Chen received his MBA degree from New York University and BA degree from Fu Jen Catholics University in Taiwan. He was the recipient of Fu Jen Catholics University's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2004.
