The company has annual revenue of about $71 billion and employs about 331,000 peoples. In July 2005, CNPC and ROSNEFT reached an agreement on long-term cooperation for Russian gas supply to China. In June 2005 China Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corporation (HQCEC) was merged into the company as a wholly owned subsidiary.
