Larry Carter is a Senior Vice President in Cisco's Office of the Chairman and CEO and a member of the Cisco Board of Directors. Carter joined Cisco as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 1995 and developed a world-class finance organization during his eight-year tenure. Under his leadership, the Cisco Finance Organization used Internet technologies to pioneer daily financial reporting on crucial metrics for company executives and made the one-day worldwide "virtual close" a reality. The "virtual close" not only increased the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting at Cisco, but also cut finance costs almost in half as a percentage of revenue. During his career as CFO at Cisco, his finance organization was spotlighted in major publications such as Fortune, Harvard Business Review, CFO magazine, and Financial Executive. His expertise has been recognized in awards such as the CFO Excellence Awards. Carter was appointed to the Cisco Board of Directors in 2000, bringing to this role more than 25 years of experience as well as a thorough understanding of the industry from a business and financial perspective. In 2003 he was appointed to his current position. As a member of the board and an officer, Carter continues to influence the overall strategy and direction of the company. Carter's career prior to Cisco was focused primarily in the semiconductor industry. He has held financial leadership positions at Advanced Micro Devices, VLSI Technology, SGS Thompson Microelectronics, and Motorola, Inc. Carter also serves on the Board of Trustees at Loyola Marymount University. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration/accounting from Arizona State University (ASU), which honored Carter in 2000 with the ASU College of Business Distinguished Achievement Award in recognition of his leadership in technology revolution.

Wim Elfrink has dual roles and organizations at Cisco. As Chief Globalization Officer (CGO), Elfrink is leading the company’s globalization strategy, and as Executive Vice President, Cisco Services, he is responsible for Cisco Services worldwide. In both functions, Elfrink reports directly to CEO John Chambers. He has been with Cisco since 1997. The Cisco globalization strategy represents a shift in business management from a focus on geography to a focus on skill sets and talents. Cisco will continue to have a centralized strategy, but its implementation of this strategy, which is critical to remaining successful in a competitive, global marketplace, will be decentralized. This approach touches nearly every facet of the company’s operations and creates a new way to deliver information, products, and services. As Chief Globalization Officer, Elfrink leads Cisco efforts to use innovative business models to globalize many business functions. In this process Cisco will begin to remove the geographic barriers between people and businesses through the use of enabling technologies such as Cisco TelePresence, which allows Cisco to transcend physical presence and reach more customers when and where those customers want. Elfrink is also Executive Vice President of Cisco Services, an award-winning and growing part of the business with annual revenues greater than US$5 billion. It is expected to be the first function to become fully globalized. The Services group consists of three units: Technical Support Services, Remote Operations Services, and Advanced Services. At the heart of Elfrink’s services strategy, the customer is still the focus as their needs evolve toward requiring additional, targeted support services that are delivered through specialized experts, leading practices, and tools.
