Citizens Commerce National Bank opened for business on November 12, 1996 with a single full service location at Marsailles Road in Versailles. With approximately 250 shareholders and $4.4 million in capital, we had a vision for a profitable community bank that would consistently meet the financial needs of the citizens of Woodford County. The Bank became profitable in 1998 and has been in each successive year. The Holding Company, Citizens Commerce Bancshares, Inc was formed in 1998 and became the sole shareholder of the Bank. All original Bank shareholders then became owners in the Holding Company. Our first dividend was paid to our shareholders in 2001 and continues to be paid on a regular basis. Our motto is that we are a "New Breed of Bank". Because we are locally owned, we know first hand the things that are important to the community we serve. We have a strong commitment to providing the variety of products and services that our customers need and to provide a level of personal attention expected in a community bank. In all our decisions, the overriding factor is, "what would our customers expect of their local bank"? And to make our customers feel more comfortable, we don't wear suits and ties either.
