After ten years as an Asst Attorney General of Michigan where he specialized in electric, gas and telecommunications regulation and litigation, Rick Coy joined Clark Hill PLC in 1982 where he represented large corporations, small businesses and individuals with their energy needs and negotiated their rates with public utilities. For decades, he has shown creativity in developing future energy alternatives for his clients in education, automotive and health care. As a result, his clients are the early beneficiaries, not victims, of his efforts to deregulate monopolistic electric utilities. For 20 years, Coy has been listed in Best Lawyers in America. Expert witness, guest lecturer, experienced negotiator and litigator, he has a unique vantage point to observe and influence changes in the energy industries. Recently, he represented a hotel waterpark resort company involved with two conflicting electric utility companies. Rick earned his BA from Michigan State University and his JD from George Washington University Law School in 1971. You can reach Rick at 517-318-3028 or email rcoy@clarkhill.com .
