David Sinclair is originally from Greenville, SC and came to know the Lord at an early age. He completed his undergraduate studies at Clemson University in 1980 and enrolled in Covenant Theological Seminary shortly after graduation. He received his Masters of Divinity in 1984 before moving back to South Carolina, with his wife Becky. In 1984, David was called to be the campus minister for the new PCA campus ministry, Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), at Clemson University. Calvary Presbytery decided that RUF at Clemson University needed to be supported by a local PCA congregation. This opportunity, along with several folks from the Clemson community, eventually led to beginning Clemson Presbyterian Church. From 1984 until 1997, David served as the campus minister for Reformed University Fellowship at Clemson, while he and his family were very involved in Clemson Presbyterian Church. In 1997, David earned his D.Min. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS and also accepted a call to Lexington Presbyterian Church in Lexington, SC to be the senior pastor. David has served Lexington Presbyterian for the last ten years and has now come "home" to Clemson. David and Becky have three children: Graham, Laura Catherine, and Benjamin.

Fran P. Mainella is currently a Visiting Scholar at Clemson University, having recently completed almost six years as the 16th director and the first woman to lead the U.S. National Park Service. Appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate, she has more than 40 years' experience in park and recreation management. She worked alongside 20,000 employees and more than 125,000 volunteers. Director Mainella enhanced an agency already renowned for its dedication to its mission and its service to Americans and people around the world. Fran Mainella believes that collaborative conservation better serves both park resources and people, and that this may be achieved through partnerships, strengthened volunteerism and outreach programs. Before being appointed to lead the National Park Service, she applied her skills and philosophy as director of Florida's Division of Recreation and Parks. During this time, Florida State Parks became a model for volunteer and partnership programs. The National Sporting Goods Association and the National Recreation and Park Association honored Florida State Parks with their Gold Medal Award, which recognizes the nation's best state parks. She has served as executive director of the Florida Recreation and Park Association and as president of both the National Recreation and Park Association and the National Association of State Park Directors. Clemson University presented her with its 2002 Walter T. Cox Award, which recognizes leadership in public service, public land administration, and natural and cultural resource policy. Clemson recently named an award in her honor for her work to encourage women to pursue conservation careers.

Sara Harcum: Theres been a lot of talk recently about a flu epidemic. One concern has been will there be enough vaccine? My name is Sara Harcum, and I am a chemical engineer in the bioengineering department at Clemson University. My research with Chinese hamster ovaries will look at alternative methods to produce influenza vaccines, hopefully more economically than what is currently done using eggs. The problem with eggs is that there can be egg shortages, and recently weve also observed the contamination problems with using egg-based systems. Another focus of my research has been to look at the organism e-coli. E-coli is a bacteria normally found in your gut; but we also use this organism to manufacture numerous drugs, like insulin which is used to treat diabetes. For more information please go to the bioengineering website at Clemson University. Department of Bioengineering Sara Harcum
