C. Evan Ballantyne, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Evan Ballantyne joined Clinical Data as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in August 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Ballantyne was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ZymeQuest, Inc., a medical technology company based in Beverly, Massachusetts, and previously was the Chief Financial Officer of Knowledge Impact, of Wayland, Massachusetts. Earlier, Mr. Ballantyne was a vice president and chief operating officer for ACNielsen Corporation and held the chief financial officer position as well for 2 years. There, he was responsible for all aspects of operations, strategic planning and finance in more than 45 countries for a corporation with 9,700 employees and annual revenue exceeding $650 million. At ACNielsen, he drove productivity gains and cost savings activities totaling $27.5 million while holding expenses flat with the prior year and helped develop new revenue opportunities while implementing a cross-border sales tracking system. He also helped lead the company's successful ISO certification in three countries. Mr. Ballantyne also held an audit position for Dun & Bradstreet, earned a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, and took a post-graduate degree in Business Administration with Honors from the University of Windsor.

Gus brings more than 20 years of senior management experience across several sectors in health care. Gus's expertise includes diagnosis and treatment of management and operational processes/systems to streamline communications and enhance efficiency. He also brings integration management, and merger and acquisition experience, sales channel development and new product introduction in his role as COO for QualityMetric. He joins us from Clinical Data, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President and COO; then President of the US In-Vitro Diagnostics Division as the company diversified by acquiring Genaissance (NASDAQ: GNSC), Icoria (NASDAQ: ICOR) and Genome Express. Prior to working at Clinical Data, Inc. he was President of POLESTAR Labs (San Diego), a private company with clinical IVD lab operations in 18 states. He has also served as Vice President-Western Operations for Baxter Perfusion Services, Baxter International, Inc. (BAX), where he managed cardiovascular services businesses with 500+ employees in 28 states; and as Senior Division President of PSICOR, Inc. (acquired by Baxter in 1994). Gus began his management career as an officer in the USMC.

G. Steven Burrill has been involved in the growth and prosperity of the biotechnology industry for over 40 years. An early pioneer, Mr. Burrill is one of the original architects of the industry and one of its most avid and sustained developers. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Pharmasset (NASDAQ: VRUS) and is a member of the Boards of Directors of Catalyst Biosciences, DepoMed (NASDAQ: DEPO), Intranasal, Phytomedics, Proteogenix, Proventys, Targacept (NASDAQ: TRGT) and XDx. Prior to founding Burrill & Company in 1994, he spent 28 years with Ernst & Young, directing and coordinating the firm's services to clients in the biotechnology/life sciences/high technology/manufacturing industries worldwide. In 2002, Mr. Burrill was recognized as the biotech investment visionary by the prestigious Scientific American magazine (The Scientific American 50). Mr. Burrill is a founder and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for the National Medals of Science and Technology. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Board on Campaign for Medical Research as well as Chairman of the San Francisco Mayor?s Biotech Advisory Committee (MAYBAC). Other not-for-profit activities include serving on the Boards of Directors for the Bay Area Science Infrastructure Consortium, BayBio, California Healthcare Institute, The Exploratorium, Genetics Policy Institute, The Kellogg Center for Biotechnology, Kramden Institute, The National Health Museum, and Research!America. Joseph Klein, III , age 46, has served as a Director of Isis since December 2005. Mr. Klein is currently Managing Director of Gauss Capital Advisors, LLC, a financial consulting and investment advisory firm focused on biopharmaceuticals, which he founded in March 1998. In addition to his investment advisory and financial consulting activities, Mr. Klein currently serves as a Venture Partner of Red Abbey Venture Partners, LP, a life sciences private equity fund. From September 2001 to September 2002, Mr. Klein was a Venture Partner of MPM Capital, a healthcare venture capital firm. From June 1999 to September 2000 when it merged with WebMD Corporation, Mr. Klein served as Vice President, Strategy for Medical Manager Corporation, a leading developer of physician office management information systems.
