Dennis is responsible for the profitability and growth of CNA's Field Operations East which encompasses basically all branch offices east of the Mississippi River with the exception of Chicago/Lombard and Milwaukee/Brookfield. He is the former president of CNA's South Region. Before joining CNA in 2001, Dennis was senior vice president, Midwest Region, for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. Prior to this, he was senior vice president, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic Regions, for Zurich. He started his insurance career with the Hartford Insurance Group as a marketing and underwriting trainee. A Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Dennis has significant experience in underwriting, general management, marketing, sales planning, strategic planning, organization design and development and managing change. He has a bachelor's degree in English Literature and a business certificate from the University of Cincinnati. He has also completed the Advanced Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business; and the Management Development Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business.

Steve has a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College. He is a board member of the City of Hope Insurance Council, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Insurance Brokers and Agents of the West. He is the former president of CNA’s West Region. Before joining CNA in 2001, Steve was senior vice president, Commercial Accounts Division, for Reliance Insurance. He started his insurance career with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies as a surety underwriter. He later held branch executive positions in California, Connecticut and Illinois.

John has dual responsibility for CNA's Information Technology and Worldwide Operations organizations. In this role, John leads CNA's efforts to integrate technology and business processing into an efficient, flexible and scalable processing platform. In conjunction with his leadership of IT and business processing strategy, John has responsibility for outsourcing, delivering application and infrastructure solutions, and ensuring that technology investments drive CNA's profitability. Under John's leadership, CNA is moving forward on a companywide initiative - the Operating Platform Transformation - to build a more flexible, efficient business infrastructure. In addition, he has championed numerous improvements in billing, collections and other core business processes. Before joining CNA in 2001, John was with Ameritech/SBC where he was responsible for delivering the company's Customer Care and Billing capabilities for approximately 30 million customers across Ameritech's regions. John serves as chairman of the Technology Committee for Metropolitan Family Services of Chicago and is a member of the Technology Committee for The Executives' Club of Chicago. John received a bachelor's degree in management from Nova University.

Larry is responsible for pricing, reserving and related actuarial activities for all CNA businesses. As chief actuary, Larry is responsible for the professional leadership of the organization’s actuarial function which includes property and casualty pricing and reserve analysis, predictive modeling and data quality as well as support for other corporate functions. Before joining CNA in 2008, Larry had actuarial responsibility for Travelers’ $7 billion business portfolio, including Middle Market Commercial Accounts, Construction, Technology, Public Sector, Excess Casualty, Global Accounts, Large Property, Marine and Oil & Gas. Prior to this, he served in several leadership positions at Travelers, including vice president and chief actuary of its $1.1 billion Construction Division. He has also held leadership positions at XL Insurance, OneBeacon Insurance Group and CGU Insurance Companies.

Tom is responsible for Corporate Communications, Corporate Real Estate, Corporate Safety & Security, the Enterprise Procurement Group and Human Resources. Before joining CNA in January 1998, Tom was with Washington National Insurance Company and its parent, Washington National Corporation. He served in a variety of legal and executive capacities, including the positions of chairman, president and CEO of Washington National Insurance Company. Tom is a Board member of Boys Hope/Girls Hope (Chicago). Tom earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.

George is responsible for the claim strategies and operations of CNA's $9 billion worldwide Property and Casualty business. CNA's Claim organization includes Global Specialty Lines, Standard Lines Claim, Property, Liability, Workers' Compensation, Compliance, Client Services and Analysis, and Administration (including Claim Technology, Special Investigations Unit, Audit, Litigation Management and other claim-related functions). George is also a member of CNA's Executive Management Committee. Before joining CNA in July 2006, George was executive vice president, chief services officer at Chubb, where he spent more than 30 years in claims, operations and administration, holding positions of increasing responsibility. George is a member of the Insurance Service Office (ISO) Claim Council, as well as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Additionally, he is an active member of the U.S. Army Reserve holding the rank of major general. George graduated from the prestigious U.S. Army War College and is the deputy assistant chief of staff, G-2 (Intelligence) at the Pentagon. For the better part of four years, he returned to active duty and in support of the Global War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom. George holds a bachelor's in economics from St. Peter's College and received his M.B.A in finance from St. John's University.

Peter is responsible for CNA's portfolio of specialty business, including Medical and Non-medical Professional Liability, Directors & Officers Liability, Errors & Omissions, Warranty and Excess & Surplus. He also has responsibility for CNA's global affiliates in Europe, Canada, Argentina and Hawaii. He joined CNA in 1992 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in CNA’s Specialty businesses. He assumed his current position in 2001. Prior to joining CNA, Peter spent 10 years with AIG, managing its commercial Directors & Officers portfolio. Peter is a member and former president of the Board of Trustees, Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) Foundation. Peter received his bachelor's degree in economics from Syracuse University and attended the Advanced Executive Program.

Naveen is responsible for CNA’s Commercial Insurance business which includes Property, Marine, Boiler & Machinery, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto, Umbrella, Middle Market, Risk Management and International. Prior to this role, he was regional president for the Central Region. He joined CNA in 2002 as vice president of the New Jersey branch. Prior to joining CNA, Naveen was with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies for 15 years. His last position at Chubb was as a vice president leading the Commercial Lines business in New York. He started his career with St. Paul Insurance Company. Naveen has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Rider University and is a graduate of the Advanced Executive Education Program of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Don M. Randel, President of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation since July 2006. Prior to that, President of the University of Chicago since July 2000. He is a member of the Audit, Executive, Finance and Compensation Committees. Mr. Randel has been a Director since May 2002.

Jose O. Montemayor, Principal of Black Diamond Capital Partners I, LP. From 1999 to 2005, he was Insurance Commissioner of the Texas Department of Insurance. He has been a Director since February 2007 and serves on the Audit, Executive and Finance Committees.

Chief Investment Strategist of Loews since 1995. He serves on the Executive and Finance Committees. He has been a Director since August 1995.

Paul J. Liska, private investor. From March 2008 until February 2009, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Motorola, Inc. Prior to joining Motorola, Mr. Liska served as an industrial partner for various private equity firms including MidOcean Partners, CVC Capital Holdings and Ripplewood Holdings LLC. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Liska served as Executive Chairman of USF Corporation until its acquisition by Yellow Roadway Corporation and in various capacities with WRC Media, Inc., including Executive Chairman. Mr. Liska has been a Director since February 2004, serves on the Executive and Finance Committees and is Chairman of the Audit Committee.
