Becky Linhart joined Commonwealth Financial Network as a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative in December 2004. In 2006, she partnered with Commonwealth advisor Louise Sharp to form Sharp & Linhart Financial Strategies. Becky and Louise are holistic financial advisors who serve women and their families on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Their approach focuses on a client?s complete financial picture, while taking into consideration an individual?s values. In 2007, Becky joined forces with a recent college graduate from her hometown of Marblehead, Massachusetts, to aid women in Piura, Peru, in selling handmade apparel to the U.S. Becky was integral in formalizing the program by setting up training guidelines, creating a payroll system, and locating a distributor to sell the wares to the U.S. She also helped establish the program to become a self-sustaining organization. While in Peru, Becky aligned women in Piura to create a formalized work group that will knit and crochet goods for sale abroad. She also helped create an alliance between the women and local vendors to purchase native materials for the apparel. The group of women is now a legal cooperative in Peru and is affiliated with the Autonomie Project (www.autonomieproject.com), a fair trade organization, to help distribute their products. The next step in assisting these women is to create a formalized workspace. To date, the women gather at each other?s homes, but they will soon have their own building in which to craft their goods. Becky has organized a union between the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor in Massachusetts and the local Rotary in Piura, Peru, to raise funds for constructing this workspace. Becky has been a member of the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor since 2001. In addition to her work in Peru, she joins her peers once a month at local community shelters to serve food to the homeless. In 2007, she was integral in creating the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor Enhanced Scholarship Trust for community residents. The permanently funded scholarship fund is intended to assist students through all four years of college and is also available for nontraditional students, such as single mothers who wish to improve work skills by gaining additional knowledge. Becky earned a BS in Psychology from Roanoke College and a Certificate in Special Studies in Management (CSS) from Harvard University. She holds FINRA Series 7, 31, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as a Life and Health Insurance license. She enjoys skiing and racing J37 sailboats. Becky resides in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and enjoys spending time with her son, Sam, and their Westie, Andy.

Carl Bailey joined Commonwealth Financial Network in 2002 as a registered securities principal and investment advisor representative. After a short tenure as Duracell?s sales manager for New York City, Carl joined the investment industry in 1979. After three years in the brokerage division of Connecticut General, he made the decision to become an investment advisor representative grounded in one theory: if he continued to service people properly, conducted his business in a knowledgeable manner, and had no conflicts of interest, his clients would never have a reason to leave. Since co-founding Bailey and Beatty in Danbury, Connecticut, in 1982, Carl has retained more than 95 percent of his clients and has grown his business, based solely on referrals. When Carl is not in his office forging client relationships, he is an active member of his community, raising money for underprivileged children. Carl has been involved in the United Way of Northern Fairfield County (UWNFC) for 15 years, has served on the organization?s board of directors for seven years, and currently serves as the board?s secretary. In 2001, he chaired the organization?s year-long campaign to raise awareness of the most pressing needs in the community and to raise funds to attack their root causes. He is also the keynote speaker at many UWNFC fundraising events. Additionally, Carl works with a local nonprofit tennis program, Danbury Grassroots Tennis, which teaches tennis to inner city children. Carl has played competitive tennis for the past 31 years?he is a former member of the Fairfield University tennis team and is a current player on two United States Tennis Association (USTA) teams. Recently, Danbury Grassroots Tennis joined forces with the USTA. As a result, more than 200 children get tennis lessons from local pros, tutoring in school work, and guidance from nutritionists in healthy living. After turning 45, Carl made a decision that every year in his life he would travel to a country where he?s never been. This has included going to the 2004 Olympics in Athens, spending eight days in Iceland hiking and biking, and climbing Mt. Chirripo in Costa Rica. Most recently, Carl extended his goodwill beyond his local community and spent two-and-half weeks living in the barrios of Managua, Nicaragua. He divided each day among three goals?educating himself about the city and its needs, interacting with the local people, and looking for solutions to their problems. He quickly learned that the conditions are infinitely worse than he had expected. In addition to dire poverty and depressing living conditions, abuse and crime?especially against women?are everyday realities. At the request of the women in the barrios, Carl has provided, for one year, the full-time services of a psychiatrist to offer support to the women and children who have been sexually abused. After visiting a 1,300-student grammar school that had one barely-working computer, Carl coordinated the purchase of 30 new computers, equipped with Internet access and outfitted with Rosetta Stone English packages (i.e., programs for learning English as a second language). For the cultural center in another barrio, he supplied sewing machines to allow the women to make clothing, as well as a photocopier for the staff. In addition, Carl commissioned the construction of a school library (along with furnishing more than 2200 books) to assist in educating the 800 children who attend the school. His current project is overseeing the construction and development of a playground, gymnasium, and soccer field for this school. Since his return to the United States, Carl continues to operate a thriving financial planning practice, built upon his core values of trustworthiness, high ethical standards, integrity, and compassion. Meanwhile, his volunteer efforts move forward with renewed appreciation for his ability to give where he sees such great need.

Debra Brede is a registered securities principal of Commonwealth Financial Network (Commonwealth) and an independent Registered Investment Advisor. Debra entered the financial services industry in 1980 as a sales assistant with Shearson Lehman Brothers; she quickly rose through the ranks to become second vice president of operations. In the mid-'80s, she completed Shearson's broker training program and subsequently joined Prudential Bache as a vice president of investments. In 1989, Debra formed D.K. Brede Investment Management Company and joined the Commonwealth community. Her firm delivers investment management services to corporations, municipalities, retirement plan trusts, charitable trusts, and high-net-worth individuals. In March 2006, Boston Magazine named Debra one of the top 20 high-end investment managers in the Boston area; in June 2006, Barron's named her one of the Top 100 Women Financial Advisors in the country. Debra is an active member of her community. In addition to gifting 10 percent of her gross revenues to charity annually, she reaches out to those who are less fortunate in Boston, Africa, and India. Debra believes, "God gives you wisdom when you ask him for it. That is the root of my success." Debra also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Boston Rescue Mission, an organization dedicated to helping homeless and poverty-stricken people. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of Agape International, an organization chartered to provide home, food, and love to the poorest of the poor children in India who are suffering from HIV/AIDS. When turning 50, Debra felt compelled to go beyond the financial support she had been providing for so many years. With her husband, two children, and a group of 70 volunteers, she traveled to Kenya to help build an orphanage. Debra's husband, a practicing dentist, worked on the medical mission team, while she and her children spent time with the orphans and worked together to construct the orphanage complete with new beds and school desks. "It was the most heart-breaking two weeks I have ever lived through. I cried myself to sleep the first week, as did my daughter," recalls Debra. One of her most memorable days in Africa was the day she arrived. As she walked into the orphanage, about 80 children gathered around to sing "Happy Birthday". The head master of the orphanage explained that there had been another woman named Deborah who had come there the year before and who had told the orphans that she would come back to build them a schoolhouse. The children had not forgotten her promise, but the woman never returned. The head master said that the kids believed that God had chosen to send a new Debra. In 2007, Debra plans a trip to India to help build another orphanage. Debra has also served on the System Advisory Board of the Boston Stock Exchange and was chairman of the District Economic Education Committee for the Security Industry Association. This committee developed a game to teach children about the stock market; it is now played in high schools and colleges throughout the U.S. Debra lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts, with her husband and their two children.

Curt serves as an exemplary role model for his clients, constantly reviewing his priorities to make sure they're in order. He defines his success not only in gross income and net worth, but also by the number of days he takes off to enjoy life. His well-balanced lifestyle includes an ample amount of quality time spent with his wife, Terri, and his 15-year-old son, Joe. "Early in our relationship, Terri promised that she'd whisk me away at least four times a year," says Curt. "It started with weekend trips, and now we get away several times a year for a week to 10 days at a time." Sharing an interest in martial arts and an active lifestyle, Curt's son Joe has become accomplished in Tae Kwon Do and recently obtained his scuba diving certification. A dedicated father, Curt often capitalizes on his own circumstances to provide Joe with educational opportunities. This could be anything from bringing him along to meet interesting professional acquaintances, inviting him to a lecture at the Honors College, or even arranging for Joe to be an observer while his father undergoes an outpatient medical procedure. Clearly, Curt Francisco enjoys life and derives great satisfaction from helping others find success and happiness. His compassion is evident by the patience, respect, and care he shows to everyone, whether he or she is a client, friend, family member, or employee. For a man who tells his clients, "Your success is my success," it's quite obvious that Curt has found his calling.
